Thank you for sharing your thoughts, very helpful.
Tubereuse Criminelle was my first Lutens fragrance. I absolutely love it and it is still my favourite.
Fille en aiguilles, Fleurs d'Orangers and Ambre Sultan are also in y rotation and are great too.

I L.O.V.E Fille en aiguilles as well, and I just have a few drops left in my bottle (and I can't find Serge Lutens in Norway any more, unfortunately). Reminds me of hiking/berry trips with my father when I was a kid. Cloudberries, warm skin, pine, wood, fresh air. Addictive and comforting scent for me. Thank you for all your great content! ❤

Fille en Aiguilles is my favorite Serge and yes, it is one of the exclusives now. If you love dried fruits in the Serge perfumes then try Bois et Fruits! Another one that got moved to only bell jars. I'm trying to find a way to buy one from Canada at the moment and trying to make my Fille en Aiguilles last me forever as the new bottles in exclusives line are 500.00 Canadian. I'm so mad at you Serge! lol!

Thanks for the store shots! Looks very cool. I like a lot from this house but own very little. The best blended ones are made with notes I don't wear a lot.
I will own a bell jar if De Profundis one day. It's not even typical of what I wear but it touches a part of me that identifies with a melancholy I experienced in early spring and late fall. I just don't want to pay U. S. Dollars for it. I need a mule!😂

I love this house along with diptyque. For me i rate
    1. Ambre sultan
    2. Fille de berlin
    3. Majeste la rose
(Their rose scents are so addictive)
    4. 5 olock
    5. Jeax de peau
    5. Santal majuscule
    6. Bapteme du feu
    7. Fleurs d'orrange
    8. Chergui
    9. Un bois vannile
I need to try more. Only one i didn't like was l'eau da paille ( so boring and different from his style)

Silent S in Lutens ;) lute'unn. And the last e in "féminité" is pronounced because French must be hard 😀 (the é is accented)
Fille en Aiguilles refers to a girl in stiletto heels and femininity (to be found?) in the pine needles. I guess.

Oh, wow! what a smashing video at the end :)) I have Chergui, Peter from fragrance view thought I would like it and I love it! It's a mood changer in a lovely way ;))
They have thee best atomizers for their sleek bottles... just the Right amount of a misty cloud to cloak you!!! That bell bottle looks highly dangerous. Although those frosted ones in your video are yummy in presentation. I look forward to trying more of this line.
    Thank you! 🌻🐝

My favorite is Datura Noir. In fact it’s my favorite fragrance ever. Fleurs D’Oranger is pretty except is has a very noticeable Cumin note that unfortunately smells like body odor. So much so that I actually checked myself to make sure it wasn’t me. Nope it’s definitely the fragrance. Many people on Fragrantica mentioned it as well. If it didn’t have that note I would have bought it because the it has some of the most beautiful orange blossom ever.

    Sebastian,
Nice SL list! Regarding the logo change. It appears that all SL fragrances released before 2010 will have the old palace logo on them. But if still available in retail stores, they will have the new SL logo, indicating a reformulation.
Cherguie was reformulated a year or so ago, and if the logo change reformulation connection is true then this means that chergui was reformulated again. It would not surprise me to find it all being true, as fragrance reviewer max forti has told me that chergui has been reformulated at least 3 or 4 times. Regardless, good juice produced by this house. : > ). A2!

I always loved Douce amère - which I unfortunately do not own again, it's now in his exclusive line I believe and hard to get - and Clair de Musc. I never found anything like Douce amère in another fragrance and I miss it the older I get, because I was too young when I own it first time to appreciate it as much as I do now. Perfect memories!
Puuh and I almost forgot to mention Daim Blonde! My leather scent from SL! It is amazing. And Fleurs d'Oranger, I do not use it often, I will try it again next sping in Germany ;-))

Just got Fleurs D'loranger and am a little disappointed I didn't choose something different - it's just not me I guess - too bright? - I do very well with Chergui, and Ambre Sultan - wish I could get my hands on the Fumarie Torque fragrance as I'm loving tobacco
How about the cocao rose fragrance? - would that be along the lines of the darker fragrances I like? Churgui is me favorite so far - its mesmerizing on my skin

You are making me want all of these. SL need to send you some cash for this one lol! I don’t understand why companies try to make some of their best scents so difficulty to get. Two questions: 1) I’ve read that there is a strong cumin note in Arabie, how prominent is the cumin note to you? 2) Can you describe the amber note in Ambre Sultan? Is it powdery resinous, or is it petroleum like? Does that even make sense?

    • @ThePerfumeGuy
      @ThePerfumeGuy  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Cumin is not that prominent on me from Arabie but it could be on others. It's odd because I have heard this too and I can smell cumin easily I don't get this on me though. Ambre Sultan is certainly spicy resinous but not much powdery. More balasmic resinous spicy herbal amber.
