I have a BA degree in Automotive Technology from 1992. I started my apprenticeship in 1986. Just the difference in technologies in those 6 years is astounding. The industry moves so fast that if you don't constantly study, you're lost in days, not in years. I can clearly remember learning about Can-Bus wiring controls and ceramic pistons in the 80's but didn't see it widely used until well into the turn of the century. My father has a masters degree in the same field from the early 80's. When I brought home an 86 Shelby Daytona, we both walked around it astonished at the technology crammed into it. When we figured out that it could troubleshoot itself, we both knew that (as mechanics), we had just been down graded to parts changers! Thanks Jay, this one is a good reminder of how fast technology is moving.

Tommy Kendall is soooo fkn knowledgeable!!!! Great video, Beautiful Automobile, thanks Jay. ( thanks Robert Herjavec)
Both the AMG GT black series and the SLS AMG black series I am in love with. Such serious super cars, sounds amazing, looks phenomenal and are crazy on the track.
That dude was a legend for the srt brand in the early 2000's. I remember watching him love the SRT trucks. What a drastic difference lol
Great history lesson Mr. Leno, the example about the canoes made it so simple to understand. This is what I truly love about your channel, you make even the most expensive cars, simple for us to understand and you give us the opportunity to experience the car for what it truly is, and never mentioning the price. Thank You for that.🙏🏽
I love the conversation flow. The wind tunnels of conversation.
My favorite super car. Love it.
Jay, thank you for everything.
One of of Jay's better videos. The guest is a former race driver and knowledge about the capabilities of modern tech not just a company rep/salesman.
Jay is a blast .............love the people Jay has on the show......wish i could drive some of these wonderful engineered cars !
