The Shmeemobiles are back out for a drag race, and this time it's two of the big hitters! We have my new Lamborghini Huracan STO up against my AMG GT Black Series. Both are limited edition, track focused, hardcore beasts designed for the race track but this time around we have them on the 1/4 mile strip down a runway.
The Lamborghini Huracan STO has a 640hp 5.2l NA V10, with the power going to the rear wheels through a 7 speed dual clutch. However, the AMG GT Black Series, while also with a 7spd DCT, has 850hp from the modified 4.0l TT V8 thanks to some upgrades and a small tune by Opus over the standard 730hp.
It's not all about power though, the STO runs the standard road compound Bridgestone Potenza Sport, whereas the GT BS is on the very tricky Michelin Cup 2 R that truly needs heat in order to generate grip. With cold temperatures, a slightly damp runway, and a lot of unknowns, these races could go either way!
With three races head to head, joined by Christian from BOTB to pilot the Huracan STO while I take the wheel of the GT Black Series, let's see how they actually shape up... prepare to be surprised!

this is why I love shmee because although his car are extremely expensive he still uses them for there purpose he does just keep them in the showroom.

Those were some surprisingly close finishes! The AMG GT Black looks absofreakinlutely phenomenal!
The GT Black Series definitely needs a gearbox tune with increased clamping force for the clutches as you can hear the clutch slip from 3rd gear onwards due to the power upgrade.

😂 the BS would destroy that STO in every single drag race if it could hook as well as the mid engined STO. It’s quite clearly in a different performance league.

@@fondfarewell2 I stand by what I said, the GT500 is all about the 1/4 mile, it even has line lock. I don't know if it would beat the AMG but as I said I wouldn't bet against the Mustang & would love to see it. I don't know the AMG quarter mile times but believe the GT500 is mid tens (I'd guess even the Z06 is about the same) So while the black series would murder it everywhere else I think the Ford would match it over the 1/4 & hope to see Tim race the two on the channel one day. If the AMG wins I wouldn't be surprised, but neither would I be if the Ford won - either way it'd be closer than you think.

Also, Tim. That Benz needs a transmission tune ASAP. It's slipping the clutches too much on every gear shift because of the extra power.
@@Chris-ob7qd go back to watch earlier videos of the the car at full throttle and get a good idea for how it sounds. Then watch this video. The rpms are supposed to match the speed of the trans pretty much instantly when the clutch is engaged, in this video you can hear a slight surge in rpm during each gear shift... sounds like the clutch is slipping a bit... then the computer is adjusting for more line pressure to complete the shift.

The Lamborghini is lighter. In a rolling race the Lamborghini wouldn't have a chance.

@@MaxKingsley72 He actually has 100 hp more according to Opus. This also explains the initial traction problems in 2. and 3. race. Sure it’s a RWD car, but the traction control is perfectly matched to this car.

Tim going into this i loved the BS and wasn't really a fan of the STO but listening to my friends with these cars and having tiny goes myself the STO is so much better than i expected and any other lambo, basically its a keeper... ( havent watched his video yet btw ..) here goes. Big fan, huge respect, keep it up.

I want to see the ultimate Shmee drag race. AMG GT Black, STO, GT, Senna all driven be the team. You could also put BMW in as a control a everyday driver car to show how fast they really are or the Clio to show what a normal car does lol.

Tim, I don't know which gear it is @Shmee150 but it sounds like your clutch is slipping on one of the upper gears on the Black Series. I think you should check this out before it costs a lot of money.

Aventador is in it's last year of production, don't even think they are taking any more orders and only completing existing orders for the Aventador.
The Huracan got a "facelift" and upgrades in 2019 model year, that's why it's called the Huracan Evo now.
@@mat4263 the Hurracan essentially looks the same. And same motor with little power bump. I think you get what I mean. Again this is no slight to these cars just looking over across the street at Ferrari and they new models all the time.

Lucid aren’t likely to be selling cars in the UK any time soon. IMO as EVs go they look like pretty good. Good range and good power. Both impressive points.

That STO is such a beautiful car, I want it in that exact spec minus the yellow wrapped bits.
Different strokes for different folks. Congrats on the whole shmee collection, but god the STO spec is absolutely hideous. First thing I’d do I wrap it. How did you ever think purple and yellow would look good.
They actually do go together. I honestly think it's a cool car but if the yellow was toned down, it'd be perfect

For me it looked best in the scheme it got delivered from factory. Looked like ex DDE squadra corsa with wrap.
