What Disney and other companies don't understand how important Lore, characters, and great stories are to fans. They didn't realize that fans will get mad if u make a bad movie or show because it is part of canon forever. With super hero movies they got away with making bad movies because they cud reboot it but i cant do that with Star Wars, Warhammer, LOTR, Halo, or other shows with extensive IP's. Some of the people who made these shows were real star wars fans who really cared about Canon but most of them havent been and even the ones who do care have had issues with writing bad stories.
@@zengamer21 what an individual enjoys is subjective. The idea that a gender or ethnicity is SUPPOSED to enjoy the same stories/media as myself (a gay white man) with the same level of engagement (enthusiasm) or it somehow should not exist is what is the major problem with 'hollywood'. 🕊
I agree wholeheartedly that so much unfair criticism has been heaped on Daisy Ridley. She did a great job with the horrible story she was given. The same goes for Finn. Talk about a missed opportunity: a child taken from his family, forced to be a stormtrooper, becomes a conscientious objector and flees from the First Order. If they had taken Finn's character down the Jedi track - maybe along with a less super-powered Rey - DisneyLucasfilm might be in a much better place.
This right here. The main story of Star Wars was told and it finished with Ep.3. There is no need for more. More more more more...that is what these creatively bankrupt companies relying on. audience's desire to consume, consume and consume until nothing is left and nothing is meaningful in the setting and the story.
You should never announce movies without an approved script or book to base the movie on. Daisy Ridley was paid $15,000,000 to just love her new movie.
It doesn’t matter what the fans are interested in or “what they want.” Fans rely on artists to teach them what they want. No one was asking for Star Wars before it came out, or The Matrix, or Blade Runner, or any other successful movie/IP. There are just good stories and bad stories. The fans may not think “anyone wants” a Rey story, but if they were spoon fed an amazing Rey story tomorrow, they’d be asking for more of them. Enough nonsense, folks.
Disney wants new directors they can take advantage of then and use, then blame directors, racist fans, and everyone but themselves. Disney has become the common demoninator in all these problematic productions.
Disney/ Lucasfilm if you want to get Star Wars and Lucasfilm right hire me to write stories for movies. I’ll show you the true power of Lucasfilm. Have Hope fans!
What Kathleen Kennedy has done to the studio is criminal. She has absolutely ruined it and run it into the ground.. When you think of it's status ten years ago and it's status now (A total pariah) its a complete mystery as to how she is still in a job.
How do you even write a movie in this franchise when it can't disappoint fans that love the OT while simultaneously not disappointing PT and ST trilogy fans, while also creating enough new settings, droids, and spaceships to create new toys and expanding the theme parks, while also making sure that the movie can be played in China, and so on? The business interests at this point far outweigh the creative interests. In other words, the franchise is too big to succeed.
Disney wars is a dead brand. I watched all the movies and shows bought all the toys, played the games. Now i want nothing to do with it, I'm just here for the corpse kicking. Obi broke me and now I quasi dispise dosney wars.

I think Kathy should write it and play every character, including Rey.
Rey is already her self insert
With all due respect to Daisy, absolutely *nobody* is interested in Rey, or anything to do with her character, arc, story etc.
I think she is a fantastic actress, however she should not waste her time with this project. What are they paying her that keeps her as an employee?!
They killed off the last three Skywalkers and then she steals their name as if she's honoring them.
@@NatHazel Well, Disney is similar to the Empire. She can't slight them lightly.
@@OneFingerYT yeah disney stupid
I do not think, that we need another Mary Sue movie. We already had three in the Star Wars franchise alone.

lets not give them any ideas. imagine if they rebooted star wars and made a new "A New Hope" 😂 oh god
I don't think it is possible to 'create' fans.
Humans either like your Art or they don't.
🕊
Wouldn't you "create" fans by writing good stories, characters, etc? You know, like George Lucas did back in the 70s and 80s.

Yeah, it sounds like the sort of thing a PR department would say.

Daisy couldn’t act her way out of a paper bag in tfa
China wasn't going to let that happen.
Awful actress. Awful.
I gave Andor a chance and was rewarded. But .. that's about it. The Mandalorian relied too heavily on baby yoda.
Thanks Elaine
As long as Kennedy is running LucasFilm, the Rey movies will eventually get made.
i want them ot make it so they can finally and fully tank disney star wars
Their only priority is money..
And we, the audience needs to learn to let things go and accept it's over.

Imagine getting to destroy one of the biggest franchises in history and still keep your job

The common thread on all these failures is... Kennedy.

So long as they write something decent, that being a very large point, a Rey movie might be fine. That is the rub however.
