The dumbest thing about this movie, is that bees can (and do) literally *leave* bad beekeepers if they don't like the way theyre being taken care of. Bees consent to beekeeping, so there is no case.
Also they are an invasive species that kill the local pollinators, which would have been happy to repopulate during the plant crises. Then there is the fact that pollination is for reproduction, while it looks more like nobody watered any plants.

At some point Seinfeld literally just said "what if we made a movie about bees and called it Bee Movie" as a joke and Spielburg loved the idea so much that he said it should be an actual movie. Seinfeld decided to take Spielburg's advice and the rest is history.

The way this movie has no real plot or story. It goes from Barry needing to find something to do with himself, wants to pollinate flowers, falls in love with a human woman, sues humans for using their honey, his friend/cousin almost dies, takes it back so bees can save the environment, then opens a flower shop/attorney's office with his human girlfriend while also being a pollinator bee. No straight plot whatsoever!
It's the *BEEst movie to love to hate. It's stupid as hell 🤣🤣

the life of male honeybees is a nightmare. their life purpose is to mate with the queen, afterwards, they have a built in evolutionary kill switch that causes them to stay outside the hive when temperatures begin to drop in the fall, killing themselves so they don't waste the hive's resources. I read a children's book once called 'a hive for the honeybee' told from the perspective of one of those male bees who loves to write poetry and longs for a life outside his programming but eventually kills himself despite having developed an individual personality. Would pay so much money to see an r rated movie about bees
