SMH. 1) use carb cleaner instead of starting fluid or just use a small squeeze bottle with some mix in it. 2) air cleaner and carb can be pulled together without having to unhook everything you did. 3) driving a punch or anything through the fuel line hole is a real good way to make it leak. Why did you hook the throttle cable up in the top hole when it came out of the bottom does that make a difference

Factory fuel lines only last a couple of years on these units
Just replace fuel lines and then try it
