  • How I use my Echelon Connect Sport bike as an alternative to the Peloton bike, and saved a ton of money in the process - over $2000 CDN to be exact! My review of the Echelon Connect Sport Bike, how I use it with the Peloton app to ride Peloton classes and my thoughts on if you should get this set up or the real Peloton system.

    I bought the Echelon GT bike at Target for $600. It’s very similar to the Sport, Ex-15 and EX-3. I highly recommend getting any of those echelon bikes. I love the fact that I can use my own screen and not be tied down to only using one app.

    This was super helpful for two big reasons! 1) I had not thought about using the Peloton app on a TV on the wall. Up until now Ive been cramming the iPad and the phone on the handle bars, worrying my phone was gonna fall if I looked at it sideways. and 2) the app with the weird name. I haven't tried it yet but will tomorrow. I went ahead and taped a conversion chart on the wall and even then I was guessing where it should be. So thank you!

    Thanks so much for this review and showing your set up! I live in Alaska which adds another layer of difficulty when choosing a bike. There's people up here who have ordered the Peloton and on top of the cost of the bike had to pay $650 for shipping and then it takes like 10+ weeks to finally get up here! I am a newbie and don't need anything fancy, so as soon as I finished watching your video I went and ordered the bike from Walmart. Shipping was only $35 and its estimated to be delivered this Friday (just 4 days!) Very excited!

      Yes, I bought the echelon GT bike at Target online for $600 plus $40 for tax and absolutely love it. ☺️ I bought it to help me get back in shape after having my daughter 4 years ago lol.

    Thank you for this review. I have the EX3 vs the Sport. I am not a fan of Wal-Mart, and that's the only store that sells the Sport, and only on-line. I was able to purchase my EX3 directly from Dicks without having to order it. I knew I didn't want an "attached" tablet, I wanted to use my own. That's why I went with the EX3. Yes, I have to use two screens like you said, my phone and a tablet. However, to save $2000 and $40 a month, its totally worth it. Actually, to be honest I guess I have really 3 screens. My Samsung watch in order to capture my heart rate. I love this bike. It gives me all that I wanted in a spin bike. Its super quiet, smooth and sturdy. I didn't want to be forced into a monthly subscription. Echelon or Peloton. With the Echelon I am able to use the "account" to log onto the bike, get all the stats I want, but continue to follow a couple TH-cam instructors online for free. I am not into the "leaderboard" or live classes. I compete against myself.

    Echelon has great deals with bikes at Costco. I have a 3 year old 4X-S and it’s still works great. It comes with a good sized screen and the instructors are fine. You can clip into most echelon models. It’s easier to get up out of the seat if you’re clipped.

    Thanks for the peloton dupe, Joelle! I’ve been debating a peloton for months but I live in a condo and I worry about weakening the floors or it being loud for my neighbours. (Or that could just be an excuse in my head not to do it 😅)

    • @JoelleAnello
      @JoelleAnello  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I find it very quiet! Because I put it together myself, I did find that I really had to tighten all of the screws after my first ride. Since then, no issues tho.

    For the average person, there is no need to spend more for a spin, it's very smooth, it gives you plenty of tension for all but the very serious rider. Add a 10 inch tablet and get the app. It shows all your info. Fantastic setup for anyone.

    How is the comfort of the seat? Can you control the resistance with the knob or is that just the break?

  • @AJthevocalist
    @AJthevocalist 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    The echelon ex-4s plus for $799 at Costco actually comes with a tablet and has placement spots for the weights. I would say it would be a better comparison to the peloton than the version you have. The tablet also has a free version where it provides the metrics for you on the display.
