We all have our issues. Definitely meditation and specifically this vipassana practice is very powerful and special in helping to bring to the surface and process our issues So we can live more powerful lives.
Im about to leave to my very first vipassana retreat in about 25 min :))) ...very nervous, so thank u for ur encouraging words, wonderful video. Now i can not wait to start and see wer it leads :)
+gasserdk - ooh just saw ur comment, sorry about d late reply. Well, bfor i continue i just wanna say; Everyones experience is different. Im only going to speak for myself and say; it was one of d most amazing experiences of my life! I had sum pretty profound experiences, one of which was an OBE. The food was amazing. The teachers (we had two) wer great. i got to know myself and my mind/thoughts in very deep level. Im not going to say much more than that and i think this video covers it great. U just have to go experience it for urself! As i mentioned, keep in mind... Everyone's experience is different. My advice for those interested in going would be; before going, set ur mind on staying for the entire ten days... Do NOT leave. Its 10 days of ur life, its nothing, decide on staying no matter wat. U will b very glad u did. And the second thing would b to not get lazy with ur meditation sessions. Keep in mind why u went there and try to make the very best out of d experience. Xx
Just got home from Vipassana I'm so happy I make it . The best 10 days of my life :) I'm feel so peace, I'm glad that I give my self other chance stay to try because I'm almost want to go home on day 3 .
Om ! Sabbe Satta Bhavantu Sukhi Tata ! May all beings be happy ! Mangalam ! In the Dhammapada the Blessed Lord Buddha said, " A Man cannot be called wise simply because he is silent. Whoever is aware, conscious of what is, choosing wisely, that one can be called a sage . " Thank you for this excellant video on Right Mindfulness and Right Meditation. Om Shanti Priyam !
Dear Dallas: Your smiles say it all. Your honesty and integrity. Your words are inspiring and I have shared your video on my FB page so that others are inspired to do the course. May you be happy!
i was going through my 3rd vipassana meditation when goenka passed away. I was happy becoz i was following and practicing what he taught while he passed away. After 3rd course i kept on practicing mostly everyday, i cant say there is big difference but certainly when i look back and now. I am happier person and my surroundings, because one of my close fren and i had same problems in life. Now he can feel the big changes and transformation inside me. My every day sittings metta is always with you to all my DHAMMA BROTHERS AND SISTERS.
Thank you for your generosity to share this very personal experience with us all. Even through this machine I am on, I can feel you have a very gentle peaceful soul and it is motivating to say the least. I to will be participating in 10 days of silence here shortly, very much looking forward to it.
My first 10 day course 2013.... I've taken two 10 day courses and two day coarses and this last two day coarse Clicked.. Different for each individual.
I am going this month. With no past experience with any form of meditation techniques I have no expectation whatsoever. The purpose is to quieten the mind and the many anxieties it gives rise to within.
How was it? 10 day Vipassana without any past experience is a BIG deal! I imagine it would be very hard yet really great because there is nothing to unlearn either:)
Thanks for your vid. I have a question for older folks. What if you have some back issues and need back support? Sitting on the floor for more than 5 minutes and I feel crippled in pain when i get up. how do they deal with these issues. can you put your back against a wall with a cushion instead of the yoga back support meditation products? thanks
And I continue to be so. After 14 years of deep work, plant medicines, coaches and mentors, workshops, books, meditations and travel, I remain truly happy. As a spiritual life and business coach I continue to expand and explore as well.
A friend of mine who teaches vipassana has for years been trying to get me to go. I had been contemplating it for a month or so, watching videos, reading material etc and it wasn't until I came across your video that I decided to just do it. So thank you for giving me the confidence to do something different. The course starts Feb 18th. I'm very nervous and anxious. I'm curious how long during the ten days you got over the pain associated with sitting so long and did u have prior meditation experience. Also what was it like returning and experiencing something negative in your environment ? (such as work, a person)
Tanya I want to thank you for your honest and vulnerable share. That is the reason why I coach and the reason why I make these videos in the hopes that it will help people stretch past their comfort zones and experience more of their full potential. Before going to vipassana I did have a little bit of meditation experience and I was able to sit for about a half an hour without too much trouble. During the vipassana I experienced soreness and pain the whole time but it became very easy to manage and almost unnoticeable at times. They provide for you kneeling benches where you can sit in a comfortable position and there are plenty of blankets and pillows to prop yourself up. Also I have done a good job of eliminating negativity from my life and have been in a very good place for quite some time now so being in silence was not as hard for me as it might be for some but no matter what the process is life changing and I highly recommend it for anyone I understand it's scary but I'm confident it's nothing you can't handle.
how much did it cost you all together?? the books other previous events before you got to this retreat ( which of course, cost something too?) where do you go to for this retreat?
Vipassana meditation retreats are 100% free! Everything included. They won't even let you donate until the end of the retreat then you donate what you can or nothing at all. Some go there without even a ride home. Some will donate their time and service if they have no money. I donated $250.00. As for the rest of my development let's just say a lot. Yet many things I have done have been either free or in expensive. Always where there is a will and desire, there is a way. As a life coach I teach my clients how to make a way:) Thank you for your questions.
Dallas Cyr That was the best thing of my life, my life totally changed after that (Not suddenly though). Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle acted as a catalyst after my course. Probably the best decision of my life and yours too :) May all being be Happy :)

It’s been over 8 years. Still one of the most impactful experiences I have had in 20 years of deep healing work and over 13 years as a coach guiding others. And I remember it like it was yesterday. Thanks for your comment.
Thanks, that was awesome 👍
I really need to sit down and practice this since i hear so many good things about it, my issues are a mile long.

Dallas, from the very beginning ,the word you have used, reveals you haven't seriously obeyed rules of vipassana.
I'll tell you what I said to James below Thanks for your JUDGEMENTS.
