I have a large pair of tin snips that are really rusty ,going to do the old vinegar bath then a bit of sanding .if you where to hand sharpen scissors ,what would you use ?
I just watched your old video on making a Mora a perfect knife. I just got my companion today and am accepting the Mora challenge. Your method was exactly like I sharpen convex edges however I use a rubber backing under the Sand paper for a little give to conform with the convex. I’ll let you know how my mora turns out. The spine on mine is not as rounded as yours but will still need some flattening. In your original video you only showed using the 80 grit on one side or bevel. You did repeat that on the other side right.
Do you have the edge pro scissor sharpening attachment. I wish I would have bought one with my edge pro professional model. I still have my apex and will say it works every bit as well as the professional model at a much reduced cost. Anyways I look forward to your sharpening method for your scissors. Thanks again
Hello, love your channel. I saw the sharpener you used for the scissors and will get one soon. What sharpener would you use for wahl hair trimmers? Thanks
I have been looking for a scissors sharpening person to sharpen my big scissors. I do not think they are cast but from 2 pieces of solid steel. My city consisting now of around 180,000 plus and not a soul to redo my scissors!!!??? It really is an easy task but I’m now one handed and paralyzed on my left side. I loved this town so much more when it was population of around 25 - 30 thousand.. This is Steinbeck’s country. In Ca..
I don't think they were cast either. At least not the blade arms. Funny thing is, people get those things wrong. Not long ago I had an argument with a friend who claimed it's impossible that some bench vises were factory-forged and not cast.
Is your location a Canadian province. I would love to move up there to get away from the mess the U.S. is about to face. Y’all’s growing season must be short if at all possible but I bet you could live(eat) from the sea !!! Have you lived there all your life. I really enjoy all your videos, especially the outdoors excursions even though knife making and sharpening are my passion and wood working is my living and a passion as well. I just have 33 years experience with wood and only a couple with knives. I’ll keep looking for your older videos. I wish I would have been following you from the beginning. Take care.
They are not cast. They are drop forged. The worker making them just didn’t do a good job of grinding out the burrs/leftover metal from being pressed into a mold.
Can you please link to "part 2"? I've scrolled through all your videos and can't find it.
Grandma wood be glad ya sharpened her scissors , until after she makes the 1st ,
3/4 cut !!
What happened to part 2? Disappointing was looking forward to the sharpening stage.
I have a vintage pair of kitchen sheers with the same problem. Too much play. Thanks for showing me hoot tighten them up.
The black paint was traditional on fabric scissors like these.

Won't find that quality in shears from China.... however, Germany still makes quality cutters like Gingher....
