I have the Martha Stewart set, and while I agree it's not a replacement for the round looms, I love the possibilities it brings. I just made a rather large baby blanket on it all in one piece using it as a large oval knitting back and forth. And the portability is key for me. Personally haven't had any problems with the hook, it's actually turned into the one I use the most on all my looms! I have the Loops and Threads round loom set just for the smaller round looms.

Thanks for the info. I have my first set, Boye, it's okay I suppose, I haven't had any problems yet. I'm not very happy with the gap in between the pegs. I then bought the Martha Stewart loom set, actually two sets. The pink pegs work great, but still a larger gap. I tried the smaller green pegs, I really liked the small gap, makes knitting holes smaller. The thing I Hate about the MS set is the green pegs keep working their way out of the holes, it's a constant battle pushing them back down with every round of knitting, my thumbs started hurting and I gave up the project, and now I'm going hopefully sell my looms to recover a bit of the money. I'm going for the all in one hat knitter. I've heard rave reviews from everyone that has this loom.

I have a darice round loom set that I have been using for close to a year. I bought it from amazon because it looks very sturdy like the kk loom but doesn't cost as much. Out of all my looms it is my favorite. It has a pick tool very close to the style of the hobby lobby loom and has a needle with a large eye so threading yarn is easier.

Thank you for a great video. I appreciate your input. I have the boye loom and notice that the tightness of the stitches is very poor especially for hats and slippers. I have had no problems working with the design of the pegs but just the tightness of the stitches.

do they all have the grooves on the outside of the pegs? i cant seem to find a closeup enough photo of anything online to tell which brand has the grooves. i felt that the grove really helped a lot when lifting the yarn over the peg...the pick gliding easily up each stem because it was guided by the groove. (nice video btw. thank you.)

I have the Boye brand and would love to try to get the knifty knitter or a good brand that would work out better, but I am new to all of this. I been only doing this since Christmas.

What gauge is the Hobby Lobby classic loom? How far apart are the pegs? What number yarn works best?

Really appreciate the comparison. I have the Martha Stewart loom and am just starting my first project - an adult hat. I haven't been able to find many videos using this product so the information provided for the other looms doesn't necessarily translate. I'd be helpful if you'd post some basic videos using this loom set. Thanks.

In SA we don't get the Marth Stewart brand unless you buy it on Amazon and with the Rand dollar exchange rate you so not want to do that. Sorry got off topic. What I wanted to say was that while we don't get her brand we have two other brands Elle and Serenity that sells exactly the same thing. I think of them as copy cats but Elle has a much better quality hook. I wish I got that one because I have the Serenity one and I can't even pick at the yarn. any how what I really wanted to say was that I don't have the problem of losing pegs when I am using the thin ones but I don't even get the thick ones in to the holes never mind getting them to stay.

I have the Martha Stewart loom set and it was such a disappointment. My first loom was a Kb loom and when I got the MS loom I was excited because you can adjust the loom and make different sizes, I couldn't wait to try it out....then I opened it up and I hate it. The pegs either won't go in right or they fall out and the flashing on the peg is right in the groove and I keep getting my yarn or my pick snagged on it and I can't tell you how many times I took a knife to the peg holes to try and fix it so the peg will fit right. I still have it and do use it from time to time but not joyfully like I do my Kb looms.
I did just got the Hobby Lobby loom set and am really looking forward to trying them out.
