    To ALL who has blinding descaling light after you follow this official video. What you should do is, between two box water in the video, you should not power off/on the machine. First box of water with descaling things, when it done, there is no notice, descaling light still blinding, and milk light is on, so you need to check, if machine is so quite, and water box is empty, then just fill an another full box of water and click "milk" , after few mins, it will be done and machine will power off automatically! it works for me! Hope this guide can help more people! @Nespresso, fixed your video and mentioned more about this if it is possible.

    You should have mentioned how long the descaling process will take. I thought it was going to be quick (as it demonstrated in the VDO). The whole process really took forever so make sure you’re not in a rush.

      I agree....thought it wasn’t working properly as water is only coming out slowly in dribs and drabs. Plus the only container I had suitable for catching the water doesn’t fit under the machine so I’m having to hold it in place, have arm ache!

    Be sure to fill with MORE than maximum the second step. If you don't, the machine won't "accept" the process and the descaling button will be ON again ;)

    After going through the descaling three times....the descaling light would still blink. Noted in the video that the water drip tray (below capsule tray) needs to be in "open"/extended position (i.e. as if to put a cup on it, and on same level as milk froth stand).
    Did the whole descale/rinse process again with drip tray in open/extended position, and descaling light went off!
    I previously did the descale/rinse process with the drip tray in fully closed position.
    Hope this helps someone else who was equally frustrated with why light would not go off.

    The video is spot on! However I did have problems the first time. I turned the machine OFF between the first cleaning and the rinse cycle. I neglected to replace the froth button that is located in the front tray. And I did not replace the frother. You follow the actual steps and it does take only 30 minutes or less.

    For people who like to drink coffee at home; like cappuccinos and have such a machine or other models ; of course if you can't buy cleaning material (the price is too high ) I use white vinegar( Much cheaper and gives the same result and doesn't hurt the device); steps: put 700 ml of white vinegar in the back water container; and start pressing the last button in the right corner (milk button) to start cleaning the sediments; after it's over; fill the water tank and start cleaning again the same process (only water this time )... After it's over. Now the machine is ready to work, without buying expensive cleaning material.

    Did it twice. Had the video playing right beside the machine. Stopped the video at every step. 100% sure I did everything right. My light is still on. Guess I have to live with it.

    I had the same problem, so did 1/2 the tank with vinegar, and 1/2 water, and now its perfect

      The descaling alert is triggered by the times you have brewed coffee, according to the water hardness setting you have selected when you purchased the machine. There are no sensors or anything that actually sense the buildup of limescale or anything. As I said, the machine saves how many times you have brewed between descales. I say this because if you put only water through the machine during the descaling process, and nothing but it, when the process finishes, the descaling light will be gone. This does not mean that the buildup of limescale is gone, though 😅
      Use of vinegar will eat away at the machine’s internal pipes, and will give your coffee a bad aroma that may persist for a while. Its doing your machine no good.

    Entire process was about 30 minutes. Reading comments just to be sure the process was going to end during the rinsing cycle I added about 300ml of water to the container.

    للناس الي تحب تشرب كوفي في البيت؛ وتحب الكبتشينو ولديهم مثل هذي المكينة او ما شابهها؛ طبعا اذا كنت لا تستطيع شراء مادة التنظيف (سعرها مبالغ فيه كثيرا) انا استخدم الخل الابيض؛ الخطوات: ضع ٥٠٠ مل من الخل البيض في حاوية الماء الخلفية؛ وابداء بالضغط على زر الأخير في الزاوية اليمنى (زر الحليب) لتبدا عملية تنظيف الترسبات؛ بعد ان ينتهي؛ املئ خزان الماء وأبدأ التنظيف مكرر نفس العملية السابقة (بدون خل ابيض)... بعد ان تنتهي..الان المكينة اصبحت جاهزة للعمل؛ بدون شراء مادة التنظيف الغالية.. بالهنا وطيب المذاق. لا تنسى تدعي لنا؛ الله يرحم والديك

      @@nespresso انا وكثيرين من محبيكم؛ ولكن تلك المادة التي تبيعها الشركة مبالغ فيها جدا جدا وجربتها ووجدت علي استخدامها كل ٢٠ يوم..اما الخل الابيض فهو مادة خفيفة وحموضتها معتدلة ولا اعتقد سببت لي اي مشاكل..ورخيصة؛ وانا استخدمها دون مشاكل..وانصح الجميع بتجربتها؛ وعموما الآلات التي نستخدمها تحتاج تشتري غيرها جديدة كل سنتين او ثلاث..يعني غير معمرة..وهذا ليس عيب في الاحهزة؛ بل الناس تحب الجديد..لذلك فإن الخل الابيض حسب خبرتي منظف جيد ولا يسبب اي ضرر.. فالخل الابيض يستخدم للسلطات ايضا فهو غير سام

    I descaled the unit, thank you. The second fill for the flush has to be just over the max level, for the descaling light to stop flashing.
    My question is, how do I descale the milk/froth container?

      You don't have to descale the milk frother but you should soak it in warm water with a few drops of dish detergent every 3 days. Swish it around and use a small thin brush to clean it and attachments out. Rinse thoroughly in cool water to make sure all detergent residue is gone or your next Cappuccino will taste like soap. Be gentle, it doesn't take much to unalign the thing. I also highly recommend you clean it by pressing the small black button on the top of the frother after EVERY single use of the frother even if your drink needs more than one use of it--clean it after each incident of use. This will cause hot water to rinse through the tubing (not the milk)of the frother to clean it out and reduce residue. The milk frother is a very touchy part of the Latissima Touch, et al and will eventually stop working if you don't keep it as clean as possible. I've owned this machine for a long time and have learned the hard way to do this. Hope this helps.

    I had problems with the descaling light staying on after the descaling cycle.
    Here are two tips:
    Firstly whatever descaling solution you use, fill it up to 600mls as per the owners book. Turn on machine and fit descaling pipe to milk outlet. (Pipe stored in fold down flap in front of milk container stand)
    Once the descaling cycle finishes which takes a long time as the machine starts and stops throughout the cycle so just let it do its thing.
    Secondly once it finishes descaling fill water tank to max and during the flush cycle add 300mls more water. The machine measures how much water passes through and obviously not calibrated for just the 1 litre tank capacity. This should reset the descale light once it finishes.
    Others have mentioned the light did not go off after the full cycle using the instructions above so use the instructions for the water hardness settings and set it to lowest setting then you can reset it later. I have not experienced this problem so can't guarantee it???

    Had the problem that the descaling light kept blinking, even after the descaling process was finished. What went wrong for me was, that in the second step of descaling, where the water flushes through, I didn't put enough fresh water in the tank. Only filled it up about halfway, which was apparently not enough. You really have to fill the tank to the max before flushing it with fresh water. No problems anymore since then.
    Just thought gonna mention it here, since the problem came up a few times.

    السلام عليكم. نظفتها بنص علبه خل الزجاجيه. وهو انو عبيته كامل مويه وخل وخليته تنظيف ويوم خلص طفت المكينه رجعت شلت علبه المويه وغسلتها وعبيتها كلها مويه ورجعت شغلت عليها ويوم خلصت والعلبه مكانها ماشلتها عبيتها مويه وهي مكانها ماشلتها عشان ماترجع تطفي المكينه ويوم وصل المويه للنص المويه رجعت زدتها مويه وخلاص خليتها لين طفت وشلته غسلته مرا ثانيه راحت الاشاره واشتغلت. 😂قصتها طويله بس مو زي مايقول تاخذ وقت طويل تقريبا ساعه وربع اخذت معاي.مع انو هذي المحاوله الثالثه والحمدلله ضبطت وقبلها كنت احاول وماتضبط واوديها لفرعهم ينظفها .

    Suggerimento in italiano: dopo aver completato il primo passaggio (lavaggio con il decalcificatore), NON spegnere la macchina. Vuotare le vaschette, sciacquare il contenitore dell’acqua e riempirlo AL MASSIMO di acqua. Io ho anche aggiunto altra acqua durante la seconda fase. Solo così la fastidiosa lucetta arancione si spegne. Ho trascorso quattro ore facendo tentativi vari e solo così, alla fine, sono riuscita a farla spegnere.

    This is the first time i start the descaling process the little descaling pipe connector the connection bit connector is leaking water .... rather than the end tip.... I made sure it's firmly plugged in too.

    Hi my descaling light has never come on but after flushing water into a cup the water seems to me like machine needs a clean.
    The water starts out kinda foggy looking till it settles.
    Can I use my Breville espresso descaling stuff in this machine ?

      Hi Katerina, our machines will tell you when they need descaling. However, Nespresso recommends you descale your machine on a regular basis, every 3 months or every 300 capsules (whichever comes first). Over time, water used during brewing may cause internal mineral build up, which can affect the flow, temperature and overall performance of your machine. To complete the descaling process we recommend only using our Nespresso Descaling Kit only. If you have any further queries please don't hesitate to ask. Many thanks.

    I tried this correctly and some of the water comes out only in the drip tray and nothing from the nozzles ! I press the button again and the same thing happens and then the machine shuts down. what could be the problem ? from Belgium

    Great Machine, but the descaling blinking light issue is not been addressed properly by Nespresso.
    Consumers should not have to do research on Google / youtube etc to rely on other consumers advice for a fix. But then again, without the very welcome advice from fellow Nespresso drinkers on here, then my skull would be totally bald from the hair pulling as Nespresso's information is so not thorough enough.
    Nespresso should amend / update it's descaling process, both in the manual, website support and via youtube etc etc.

    I'm a bit worried about using the Descaling agent because even though it's made for this purpose it still looks like a harmful chemical. Could I use citric acid solution instead? I use it all the time for my water boiler and regular coffee machine.

      Fill the water container over max or pour a glass of water in it when it's half empty. Your descaling process restarts when the machine runs dry, and the procedure is programmed for more than the max amount of water.

      Nespresso Wrong. Each cycle takes approx 20mins+ so the total process can take longer than an hour. You should have informed users the correct information.

    I have tried more than 10 times now. The descaling light is still on. And the water doesn’t come through the pipe or the main is just coming under the capsules box.

      Hi Carmel. To enter the descaling mode, plug the descaling pipe into the steam connector of your machine and the machine will automatically go into descaling mode.
