Thanks bro. You just fixed my car remotely.
Das ist eine geniale Lösung. Vielen Dank 🫡
Good job on the video, thanks for posting, I'll be doing this tomorrow.
FYI
While the lock is out , you repair or swap the wafers so the same key can be used. The wafers are only a dollar a lock shop can do it too. so doors and ignition stay the same.
Nah two door handles and both pins refuse to come out
mine were the same until i put them in a vice and pb blastered them
i have the 98 m3 the arm broke off that opens door. in the video you have the same lock as mine but the ones i found on ebay are the other key lock different on the backside what can i do since since you said theres a chip please help me thanks
i have 2 spare doors off a junk car in my backyard (no key) my driver door has a hard time locking but im pretty sure it’s the actuator itself, if i were to swap over all the door handle stuff from the spare doors, i should be able to just swap out the lock cylinders between to two and have working locks without needing 2 keys? i have a 99’ btw.
Good morning, i've got a spare door handle+lock but my cilinder on the back looks different and doesn't show that pin? Do you recognize this..
Thank you, bro
Is the lock cylinder from the trunk compatible to the car doors?
No
Hi I don't have a key . How I remove the cylinder to put my new one
Call the dealership and get a new key
Is there any way to remove the lock cylinder without the key ?
My actual door handle is broken, and anytime I see people selling door handles they have their lock cylinders but no key comes with them, I would like to take the lock cylinder from my broken handle and swap it onto my new handle so that I keep the same key for everything, however if you do need the key to remove the lock cylinder how could I remove the lock from my new handle...
Probably could use a drill and drill a hole in it
Kinda late to the party, but did manage to do that? We bought a spare door, but having problems swapping locks without the original key. Should we just try harder? Kinda afraid it could break

Without anyone telling me if it was possible, I just ended up paying extra for an assembly with the key. From what I understand without the keys the wafers are not aligned and prevent the lock cylinder from coming out (otherwise that'd be a vulnerability) You could try drilling it out, but I'm not super convinced.
You mention buying a spare door, was your intention to swap the door, or you bought the whole door just for the lock ? Because if you're swapping the door you can swap the entire handle assembly from your old door to new door, that won't cause any issues and won't need the keys.
Thanks!

Are you certain that you can't do this for 96+ models? It's the first time I've heard that a door handle requires the transponder chip...
It’s 98 and up, you could always take the chip out of your old key and put it into your new key
@@ProblemSolverGarage it's 1995 and up
Well mine is a 96 and it doesn't have it, I'm sure there's variations though depending on trim
Hey I'm in the GTA I was wondering if you could help me out with my door handle? The handle itself is flimsy and doesn't open the door when you pull on it but the key still opens and close the lock
Well unfortunately I am about 17 hours away from you but I wish you all the best and hope you can figure it out
My car is a 95 and i'm having to replace my passenger door from a drifting incident. Can I just swap lock cylinders and my key will work with the new door and cylinder? Also I won't be able to roll my window up as it shattered inside the door. Any insight?
Shouldn’t be a problem
Must be nice not having the door airbag in the way
Hi, my Bmw is a 95, the doors have been changed by the other owner but i got new handles and ignition, if my key doesn't work (on the old one) can i still take it out?
If your key doesn’t work you will have to switch the whole handle
Harder to do but you can pick the lock to remove the lock.
