Hey everyone! I'm back with the BEST DAY OF THE WEEK: RWBY DAY!!!! You guys, I've been dying for this soundtrack!!! And it did not disappoint! I think Casey (and Martin) did an amazing job capturing the essence of what this volume was all about! From the beauty and bliss of love, to the darkest depths of depression, all the way to the victory/comeback!!! The lyrics were just spot on, and I LOVE hearing Casey's original style throughout the compositions too! I love how layered sounds, different instruments, etc. are used. It wasn't easy going through a lot of the pain again, but that's just what makes these songs so hard hitting - they really captured that feeling. Excellent addition to the collection of RWBY musical masterpieces!!!!! And now, we wait for Vol. 10!!!! Enjoy! ~ MH - บันเทิง

Trapdoor following Worthy is like the soundtrack is saying "No happy, only sad"
I heard someone call Worthy a “first dance at the wedding song” and I think that fits perfectly.
in the checkmate song the part where she said "im not perfect but im pretty close" is a ode to a weiss quote from season 1 where runy said she was acting like shes perfect all the time and weiss said "im not prefect but im leagues better then you"
Whoo, been waiting for this, not many people have got their reactions out for the soundtrack at the moment.

its crazy Jaune had parallels with The Rusted Knight he loved that book as a child like he literally was looking up to himself pretty much lol
also makes you wonder if Ozpin knew who Jaune was really cuz of that Fairytail.

This has undoubtedly been one of the best soundtracks that RWBY has had in its history, it shows that Martin Gonzalez and Casey Williams lived up to expectations considering the previous work of Jeff Williams, there is practically no song that was not from me liking. My top songs would be:
1.- Checkmate
2.- Inside
3.- Trapdoor
4.- Chatterbox
5.- Worthy

Just happened to stumble upon your channel and im so happy i did! Its refreshing to see someone else get emotional and worked up at this show like i do
Something I always love about Checkmate is how it takes different aspects from team RWBY;
"I know it's not easy, losing a match, especially when it's a girl kicking your ass." - Yang's songs are some of the few that actually involve explicit lyrics, and her "I will kick your ass" mentality shines through.
"I know no one's perfect, but I'm pretty close" - Weiss's remark back in season 1; "I'm NOT perfect... not yet anyway."
etc.
The song's about team RWBY returning to form, embracing what they know how to do best; survive.
The term "Are you the queen or are you the pawn" I suppose could be read as Ruby's introspection, but it's also a chess joke; "are you the pawn (a weak unit with great potential) or are you the queen (the most powerful unit on the board, but also with the biggest target on it's back)." In a chess game the NUMBER ONE piece you want OFF the board is the queen, the king's not as big a deal as you think, they're mostly a big weak-point on your board.
Woohoo loved the reaction! Casey and her team did great.
My favs in order my mind changes all the time especially when the songs this volume were all so good lol.
1. Trapdoor (since Ruby is my favorite character this song hit me deep showing her mindset was so sad to hear and see but I also loved it because it helps understand her even more then before and it's not seen often so it was also interesting)
2. Rlr pt 3 guide my way (this was actually soo close to number 1, this song gave me chills when she whispered I'm what inspired the fairy tale I loved it, also her coming to terms with who she is and wants to be while still admiring her mother but also being herself)
3. Worthy ;3 you don't even need to know why I'm sure lol
4. Inside (those voices got me and it made the song even better imo.)
5. The edge (it's just beautiful that's all I can really say)
6. Quiet (loved seeing jaune get his own song and the lyrics were so sad and happy at the same time it had me in my feels I also at first didn't even know it was for him but it didn't take to long to figure it out.)
7. Checkmate (it was a bop I love it)
8. Chatterbox (while it's not on the top of my list I do really like it, cool to see the talk between neo and the cat and how similar their characters were.)
9. Wings lo fi vers (I know you didn't listen to this one but it was also pretty good and nicely done.)

- Inside - Still a really good OP. Pretty hype. I’ll have to listen a few more times to decide if it beats V8 and/or V2’s. Regardless, a banger.
- Checkmate - Oh my god this is still a freakin bop. So funky. And that breakdown?! When it goes full club beat?! Too good. Might actually be my favorite track.
- Chatterbox - The very start reminds me of the OP for season 1 of Promised Neverland. Anyway, the way Casey’s voice gets raspy on that last “out” is perfection. Another bop. Not surprised.
- Worthy (BMBLB pt 2) - Probably one of the most anticipated. Oh my god it’s too pretty. Ugh my feelings. Why is this so sweet? I’m dying here! I can’t! Can’t believe the Bees invented romance, and Casey and her crew created the romance song.
- Trapdoor - I actually had that chorus stuck in my head all day right before the soundtrack released officially here. “I don’t feel like the Chosen One” didn’t need to go so hard. That guitar is sick.
- Quiet - It’s very pretty. I’m not a huge fan of the extended ticking but I get it.
- Guide My Way (Red Like Roses III)- Wow, still fresh in my finale feels. Did not expect that intro though. “When will I become all of me?” “I’ll be who you were and I’ll be even more” “I’m what inspired the fairytale” Frick yeah! I’m so proud of my girl!
- The Edge - Yeah this credits song still makes me emotional. I think I’ve just so closely connected it with the finale and my feelings with that. But regardless of that, it’s just a great song. The team did not miss.
The chaotic guitar and slight synth rock is actually a lot more Martin's musical vibe as opposed to Casey's. She's a talented artist in her own right as seen from her solo songs (Worthy, Quiet, Until the End). But if you like that rock i would suggest Atomic Guava which is the band Martin is in, and theyre awesome for sure, or his solo stuff which is a little math rocky

I've really loved watching all of your RWBY reactions! You have some really awesome thoughts and insights and it's been fun hearing them throughout the series.
This is a bit random and I'm sure others have already suggested it as well, but just in case you weren't aware, there is a season 4 of RWBY Chibi out now!
I know it's not official or anything, but if you're itching for more RWBY content I'd highly recommend reacting to Smaller Soul's video about the score in RWBY if you haven't seen it already! I haven't seen any one else do it
Worthy never fails to make me cry, its so beautiful and completely tells Blake and Yang's story through the volumes, all the hardships and missteps, until they found each other again, and then in vol 8 they thought they'd lost each other again, to their final confession in vol 9
I noticed all the kamen rider figures in the back, very cool

I'm not sure I agree with the picture used for the Chatterbox video really, the song plays when Jaune appears and I'd argue it fits more with him and the Curious Cat, nowhere near where Neo gets bodysnatched.
That's true, but Casey and Martin did a Q&A after the soundtrack's release and there it was confirmed that Chatterbox is kinda an inner argument between Neo and the Cat.
But then again, as Casey also often says, most of RWBY songs can be interpreted in different ways and none of that would be wrong 😊
