My skull was my reward for winning the marathon world championships in 2010, my triangle on my hand reminds me to keep moving forward and make progress, and my turtle/Pura Vida tattoo on my leg is a reminder of my amazing time in Costa Rica :)

What kind of motorcycle are you getting in Cape Town? You should get a big dual sport and take cool road trips with it. In South Africa must be so much fun. My wish is to ride there.

I don't think I could handle a motorbike responsibly - one of the few reasons I didn't do my bike license :D so the only 2 wheeled vehicle anyone will see on my vlog is a scooter maybe :D

The fact that you balance both happiness and acheiving your goals on top of your life is an inspiration. Not enough people make being happy a priority like they should and your vlogs are a friendly reminder each day to do so. I dig it.
Great video, although, sadly no help for me (Despite me watching it very carefully!).
Unfortunately, I had balance issues (On both a moped and a 125cc bike) at my free training session at 90-one training, Obelisk Rise, Kingsthorpe, Northampton on 7th Sept 2020 (I can't ride a bicycle, so it was really no surprise that I didn't get far). I wasn't invited to come back for the CBT course (On 18th Sept) and that has devasted me.
Gutted about it, but I really appreciate the opportunity I was given, even so briefly. Having never done anything like that before, at least I tried something new, even if I failed fulfill my Biking ambition.
Well done, Ben on getting yours (Back in 2015! - Are you still riding? We need an update!).

Your tutor was a lot nicer than mine! Haha ... I love riding, and I finally get to pick my bike up at the end of this week. I'd recommend anyone to do their CBT, its so much cheaper and much more fun than driving a car ... and can't wait for future vlogs with motorbikes in them Ben! Motorbike riding is so much fun, especially trail riding. It can take you to more places then Pumba ever will.

If you fail to show competence on the basics of bike operation, they will not continue with the road-based section.
what happens then? do you have to repay to do it or can you just return on a later date?

Whaaaaat, I just did my CBT yesterday, too! My first time ever riding a bike (aside from pillion) and being on the road (I don't drive), and I did it! Just want my big bike licence, now ;)

Yes. The only question is, how are you going to get your bike to the test centre.

I wish the mfgs still marketed 125 classic street bikes in the US. Most stopped in the late 80s as our highway speeds went back up to 65 and 70mph nationally. Smallest today are the 250s and 300s, except for wierd little stunt bikes like the grom. The 100 to 125 street was ideal for teens to learn with. I think more parents would approve a bike that was 125 or less. I had to get a vintage bike for my daughter, as she had no need to ever get on a highway or a street over 45mph. The CB125 weighs only 180lbs and she can muscle it well and flat foot it. However as a 43 yr old carb. bike it is finicky.

I'm thinking about getting a motorbike after 6 years of car driving, when I build up the courage to go for my cbt, do I need all the gear like gloves and leathers and helmets and boots?? Just asking as I've never even been on a bike and going for a 125 licence
just came here to say that your title is wrong..the CBT is NOT a test, the word test is not even involved in what CBT stands for, it stands for Compulsory Basic Training!

Good video but I will point something out. CBT = Compulsory Basic Training. There is no test for this.
Im 61 , never been on more than a holiday scooter (but 27 years car driver) and trying to get my head round the CBT needed for me to get a Vespa , this was big help and I loved the dog !! . ta R
