Got my CBT tomorrow 🙈 bricking it, considering i don't drive, I'm hoping I've studied enough of the highway code to have a good understanding of using the road correctly.
Awesome!!! Good luck! Just go into it with confidence and don’t worry if you make a mistake! Ride safe and you will smash it.. hint: keep checking your mirrors and over shoulder checks! They love it if you do 😂 Come back and let me know how you get on 🤞
For a 50cc moped cbt , Is it needed that i need to know every part of highway code or do they teach me through it because people saying that its not a test and they teach you through the highway code through the cbt for a 50cc moped , and im unsure that if i need to know the hughway code for a 50cc moped and will i fail if i get a couple questions wrong ? Im really confused for the cbt on a 50cc moped
@@callumkirk5154 no, don’t worry, you won’t need to know the Highway Code for the CBT, it’s mainly about learning to ride the bike. You will need to download the app and revise the Highway Code for when you do your main licence. But Definetly not the CBT.. hope this helps
Well done. I remember doing my IBT (same as CBT but I am in Ireland) about 2 years ago now and was a little nervous but when we started and I got in the zone it was great fun and a great experience. I have recently passed my test and got the full licence now too. I see this video is a little over 2 years now. Did you do your test?
Ahh congrats! Ride safe and i hope you enjoy it as much as me. It was the best thing i ever did! yes i passed.. have been riding just over 2 years now. Love it it more everytime i get on the bike
i'm booked for my CBT this coming thursday. i'm stitting myself as a first time rider. i bought a Honda PCX 125 2011 for £850 great deal good condition and ive looked at loads of videos about cbt but still very very very nervous
Oh yes, i know, its so nerve racking, and as you can see from this video i was too. It's literally the best thing i ever did. Good luck for tomorrow, come back and let me know how you get on!
Love this video so helpful. I'm 23 and I'm just wondering, all I need to do is pass my CBT and I can drive up to 50-125cc moped immediately with tax and insurance obviously then I can literally start driving with l plates ??? No theory or practical test needed
Aww thanks so much, yes that’s right.. the theory test will need to be taken before you do your mod 1 & mod 2.. CBT is considered the first stage of training, as long as you don’t mind riding with L plates! Good luck with it, literally the best thing I ever did
@@MultiMb77 now have a Yamaha vity 125cc absolutely love it, take it on 3 -4 hour rides and it handles it very well, waiting for my mileage to be 700 so I can get my bike checked and get the engine oil changed 🥰
ThePremiumRat thanks, I meant to message you back, but I didn’t receive your message on insta. I saw the notifications but when I went into my messages it wasn’t there!
My local rider school claims that the CBT must, by law, feature at least 2+ hours out on live roads. That sounds like an awful lot and my regular car driving test was only 45 minutes or so. They have their whole course in for 9-5 on any given day. I'd like to do my CBT because I'm curious about motorbikes (never done it before), but don't have anyone who can help me out and there are no taster sessions around here. Only option is to pay for a full CBT day... sigh.
It’s not too bad though as the day is split into 3 sections, In a secure car park, classroom and then you only go out on the road if you are confident, do it, it’s the best thing I ever did
Great video! I’m 35 I suffer really bad anxiety and with my nerves and I was told I’m so stiff on a bike I was doing ok on the pad then before going out on the road I just froze and then nerves went into over drive! So had to stop :-( but I’m going at it again I’m January, do you have any tips? As it’s always been my dream to ride a motorcycle.
I am totally with you on this one, nerves is horrible and so controlling. I suffer really bad with anxiety and its really unpleasant. I think the biggest bit of advice i can give, is dont think of the CBT as a test. They are only there to ensure you can ride safely. So on the day, you will have the classroom bit and then the practical. Get yourself totally relaxed at this point. Make friends with the instructor, and they will look after you and give you all the instruction you need. They don't expect you to be able to ride, so they guide you. It's a lot of fun, and treat it as a fun day. I know this is all easier said than done, but they won't "fail" you unless you can't do it. Just relax
@@laytonliddell2198 no pal cbt was on a 125 and didn't like the 125 so the instructor let me on the 600 fazer and that's what I did my cbt road ride on I was doing my das course
Once u pass cbt is that all u have to do to drive a moped forever or just for a certain amount off time and have I gotta book theory tests or anything after iv passed cbt
If you want to continue riding without stepping up CC bikes, you just have to retake the CBT, it currently last 2 years. You will need to keep L plates on and every two years do the CBT, you won’t need to take theory every time! Hope this helps
@@FinleyAlice I agree, but how ever if he is just learning and hasn't got the money to maintain the bigger names then the newer Chinese bikes are okay, they have improved a lot over the past few years. But i see your point all 4 are beautiful brands. especially Yamaha's ;)
Unfortunately I failed my CBT today and I blame our instructor who was a old sergeant major type who kept barking orders at me which made my nerves go completely too pot. He had no patience whatsoever and was talking to me like I’d been riding bikes for years. He kept raising his voice constantly Nick picking at me, too much throttle, too little throttle, not enough clutch control, not doing this, not doing that, after few hours my hands and feet wouldn’t even work in conjunction with my brain, changing gear, using the clutch, applying the brakes, everything just went downhill all because this one instructor who I personally feel was in the wrong job. I’m going too rebook my CBT with a totally different school. I can’t risk having that same instructor again. So pissed off at him, I was already nervous and by the time I got off the bike I was even worse. Had I had someone who was more understanding, younger and had more patience im convinced I wouldn’t of made the mistakes I did. Plus the car park where we did the U turn and figure of 8 was absolutely tiny. It was hard enough just to turn the bike around never mind complete a figure of 8, plus he had that many cones on the floor, I couldn’t even work out what cones I was supposed to be circling for the figure of 8. He kept saying “it’s your money your wasting” like I was messing up on purpose. I might even ask if I can do my CBT on a automatic then go to a geared bike when I pass so I can work on my coordination with the gears and brakes etc.
Jesus, i am so sorry to hear this!! that's an absolute disgrace!. I promise you it went t1ts up because of the instructor. No trainer should ever treat a learner like that. The whole purpose is knowing that everyone is nervous, its not officially a test, but it certainly feels like it!.. Please don't let it get you down, get a different school and guy and you will smash it. If you have any places where you can go and speak with the school first,. this is a good way of knowing what the trainer will be like. Forget this test, and start fresh, you will breeze it with the right trainer.
@@MultiMb77 thanks mate your words of support mean a lot. I honestly thought I’d be in for a exciting day ahead and it quickly turned into misery. It was like 4/5 hours of mental torture, then the other guy who was training he just naturally took to it better, some people do and more control he was pointing at him and saying “ look he’s doing it, why can’t you?” Like it was some kind of competition. In the end I was so physically and mentally drained I couldn’t even follow basic Manoeuvers, by brain just stopped working and all I wanted to do was get out of there. I took the bikers jacket off and I was soaked through my t shirt not from heat, but from the stress the vile instructor put me under. But I’m not going too let one arsehole get me down, or put me off, because I so desperately want to pass and get on the road. So I’ve spoken too another school who seem really nice, lots of younger instructors and I’ve seen the reviews and there all good. So booked in for 12th August and im going in fully confident and this time I will do it, show that idiot who put me down, he was wrong.🙂👍🏻
