    Great video. I bought some mounted sergeants from this manufacturer, to use in Barons War....Good miniatures.

    Be very careful when assembling the horse body halves. There is one combo that doesn't have hooves touching the ground. Instead they have little plastic extensions that reach down from the hooves to the ground. When I assembled the first one I mistook those for sprue and clipped them off. Now I will have to build a plastic "rock" or tuft of "grass" sticking up to attach to glue the hooves to the base. Also there are three tabs and slots on each horse body pair. I found some did not fit well and prevented the body halfs from fitting together tightly. I had to trim them off and file them down in a coupel of cases.

      I have to reply to my own post here. After assembling a few more Turcopoles I have discovered the horse halves are, in fact, paired. They are listed on the sprue as 1L and 1 R, 2 L and 2 R, and 3 L and 3R. (There are no paper assembly directi0ons, and I didn't notice the info on the sprues right away.) When you put the correct halves together they fit very well. But they still have minimum contact with the base and the hooves for gluing. I just glued the first 6 but I pinned and glued the second six for added strength. The only issue for pinning is the bases are very thin. So don't make a long pin. There are two different sets of arms for the riders - one with quilted armour and one with just cloth - and either spears and shields or bows. They should be easy to tell apart if you are careful and don't rush. I did mix up one arm. ;-) (See instructions on being careful and not rushing.) Otherwise, with the above caveats, this is a good kit. They will be going into my friend and my Warhammer Fantasy Bretonnian armies as mounted men-at-arms.

    looks like a pretty good set. I like both plastic and metal miniatures but it’s good to have a plastic option for Crusades era, especially with a unique unit like the Turcopoles

      Thanks, with the numbers I want plastic is good 😆

    With the Armored Horses, I'm thinking these could be used for Georgian or Armenian Cavalry as well.

      I always wait till judge until they are built and painted, Fireforge stuff usually suits my painting style very well so we will see. There is also a pretty limited choice for 28mm Turcopoles and I will do at least 4 units of 12 so plastic will save me a few quid. I might do a couple of test figures to break up my Garibaldi Project to see 👍

    Great stuff Ken, I must resist these at least for a year or so! They do look good though and could easily morph into any of the allied horse archers for the Byzantines, crusader states and moslem states.

      Cheers, thee have been on my want list for a while but will be in the pile to paint whilst I get the Garibaldi stuff finished 👍

    Those separate legs look likely to be a bit of a pain.

      Maybe it is for body rotation for Parthian shot, right leg forward in the stirrup, left leg back perhaps?

    Yeah, War games emporium are good at mail order, but if you want to visit their store, they leave you standing outside waiting as they decide when to open even when it's past opening time. They lost a customer because of that.

      Never had that problem, always been really helpful when I've visited 👍

    Interesting unboxing. Fireforge using that Byzantine horses sprue seems very lazy to me and merely produces more waste plastic, which is criminal, as I can't see many people utilising the armoured bits. It shouldn't be too much of a chore for them to produce a sprue of four unarmoured horses.

    • @YarkshireGamer
      @YarkshireGamer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep a lot of waste on the sprue 🤷

      Be interested to see if the mail and lamellar would fit other manufacturers horses though.

      Yeah Matt, they will go in the bits box 👍

      Just picked up the box. Hmmm...Saga: Turcopoles = unit of 8.
      Box = 12!
      So...assemble 12, pick the best 8.
      Buy two boxes, = 24 = 3 units. One for me and pressies for two friends? If the Age of Crusades auxiliaries they do appear to get a good write up.
