Lovely video, thank you for sharing! That splodgy rib knit is so fun, and I’m excited to see your next attempt at the Maid for Mermaids pants. They have such cool details and I love that you’re recreating your ready to wear pair. Happy sewing!
Beautiful fabrics and some great plans. I'm busy making Summer clothes although our Summer is being a bit cool atm, not that I'm complaining, I'm ok with 26 rather than 40.
As new vloggers too we agree it is nerve wracking! So far we have been welcomed with open arms and had lovely comments. 🤞 That continues. The sewing community is such a lovely place to be 🥰
I love the IFORD jacket I made a pink denim one. It’s a great pattern. Your husbands cord one is fab. Yes make yours in the pink wool it will be lovely. X
Hiya, love your plans and fabrics! For the corduroy trousers, I think that cord doesn’t have great recovery in comparison to denim, so not sure how that pattern and fabric would work together. Looking forward to seeing your ilford jacket xx
Happy New Year! Guilt and buying fabric don't work well together for me. If I don't use something I fell in love with right away, I consider it insulation for my sewing space 🤣. I'm not a fan of chunky cord pants as I am only 5"2'. I do however, think this fabric looks amazing as a long, fitted in the waist, skirt with a kick pleat - reminiscent of the current long jeans skirts seen in RTW. Looking forward to seeing what you end up creating this year.
I think you have to be careful with making oversized trousers in chunky cord. I made a pair of True Bias Landers in a very chunky cord but they were way too big, and my husband asked me whether I was playing the front or the back half of the pantomime horse!! Needless to say I took them in a lot! 😂
Just found your channel and enjoyed your vlog so I’m off to watch your previous ones 😊 I would go with your first choice and make the sunshine jeans in the chunky cord, I think they will look fab ☀️
Thanks, it was your comment that swung it for me, thanks so much for the comment. The corduroy is so chunky that any angled lines stand out a lot. I've nearly finished them.
Great tip for google lens. I needed this for last week when I was searching for fabric, it would have saved me loads of time 😂. I will definitely use it for flowers/plants as I always want to know what they are when I see a nice one and want to buy. Thank you for sharing
Years ago I owned a pair of chunky corduroy trousers that were very much like the Sunshine jeans in shape. I was a similar size and shape to you and really liked how they looked. They didn't stick out, but held the curves in an attractive way. And corduroy also softens up nicely with repeated washings, so even if they are sticking out a little stiffly at first, that should go away with time.
Oh wow, the Amy dress pattern was beautiful and that viscose is going to be beautiful with it. Happy New Year. Me and my hubby have been sick, so no sewing yet. Stop by and see me next week!😅❤😅
Loving your vlogs! I’m organising a POGONIP PARTY in February if your interested? All you have to do is Vlog your ideas at the beginning of the month and then we all publish our reveal vlogs on 29th February to celebrate leap year. Xx
Happy New Year! I too slipped on my fabric ban Opps! 🫣 so no fabric buying for me until February at least. Although saying that I’m very tempted by the bottle green fleece backed French terry. Your planned Ilford jacket sounds lovely, I can’t wait to see your finished garment. Happy Sewing!
Great fabrics. I'm looking forward to seeing how your Winnie pants turn out as I'm really tempted by that pattern. I love your idea of putting a stripe down the side.
Great vlog as always thank you for taking the time to make them I love your approach and you are very easy to listen to. I love the pink boiled wool and the chunky cord but feel the chunky cord is not perfect for slouchy trousers ❤
Great video, Happy New Year. I hope your hubby loved his Ilford jacket, your plans for a pink one sound fab. I have the pattern but have yet to use it!!
Thank you, yes he really loved it and wore it every day during the Christmas break. Give the pattern a go, it's very straightforward and not even a collar stand to worry about.
Love that boiled wool, it's a gorgeous colour ❤
Thank you, it makes me happy 😊
I also have got the Sunshine jeans pattern for Christmas so always keen to hear about other people's makes/experience etc
I would really recommend you do a toile first with a similar fabric to your good fabric.
That top will look fab in that fabric. Look forward to seeing it made up 🤩
Thanks, I'm looking forward to making it up 👍

Hi Erin, the splodgy one is done and the corduroy pants too 🥳 Winnie's will be soon x
Gorgeous plans!! Looking forward to seeing them made ✨
Thanks Rachel 😊

26 sounds like a hot summer by UK standards 🤣 Do you prefer sewing for winter or summer?

Your vlogs are great, it's nice to enjoy the rapport you have with each other 😊
@@justletmesew awww thank you, that is very kind of you 🤩

Thanks Patricia, it comes together pretty quickly too doesn't it x
Just found you Tania and really enjoyed your vlog. Look forward to future vlogs and seeing your makes. 😊
Thanks so much Kay 😊

Thanks Karen, hopefully they'll hold out but I have lost a pair of cords in the past to ripping...

Hopefully the trousers will work out, I'll keep you posted 🤞

😲 I hope you had a good come back to that! You're right though, my worry is they'll be too bulky...
Oh my goodness Tania you are going to be very busy . I look forward to seeing your makes. Thank you for the video.
😂 I will be very busy but I'm hopeful I'll get most of them made. Thanks for watching

Hi Lindsay, thanks so much for watching! I've now plumped for the Persephone pants, it was so hard to decide.
Great selection. I would make the Persephone jeans with the corduroy. The vertical lines in the fabric will look better straighter.
Thanks, it was your comment that swung it for me, thanks so much for the comment. The corduroy is so chunky that any angled lines stand out a lot. I've nearly finished them.
@@justletmesew glad to help. Looking forward to seeing them!
Lovely fabrics, I'm looking forward to seeing your makes. You have lots of good ideas.
Thank you, I hope they all turn out OK 🤞

It's a really good one, you can even use it to find things at the best price 😊

That's really useful to know, thank you. Corduroy is always a winner 😊

Hi Christine, I'm on a fabric and pattern buying pause for a while but will be following the party to see how you get on! X
Great to hear your plans. It was great to see your fabric choices. I would go with the sunshine jeans.
Thank you for watching Pam. I think the sunshine jeans might win 🌟

Love your relateable cheerful style
Thank you
Just found you 😊 great plans, look forward to seeing them made up!
Thank you, I'm starting with the easy ones first 😆
Love your fabrics for the Ilford Jacket. Can’t wait to see them made up! 💕 Lisa
Thanks Lisa x
👏🏻👗
I’ve made the McCall’s top for my mum and she loved it
It is a very pretty pattern and comes together quite quickly 👍

Thank you for the feedback 😊 A few others have advised against the slouchy trousers, it's so useful to have other perspectives.
Tania, I love the fabrics and your plans for them! Happy New Year and happy sewing!
Thanks so much, happy new year to you too. I look forward to hearing about your trip x
