Lauren at Guthrie and Ghani did a trouser fabric video and covered your wash-wool question I believe. Also, you could cut a 4"x4" swatch, serge around it, wash it on cold, and see how it does.
Hope your surprise visit went well at the weekend and you’re settling into your new job. Have you had a visit to Rejects in Kirkcaldy whilst you have been visiting your sister? They have been getting some nice fabrics in recently. I find them a bit pricier but it’s probably because of the online bargains available nowadays. Definitely worth a browse and the restaurant is lovely ! 💞💞
Thank you, the weather was perfect and we all had such a lovely time. I haven't visited that shop, I wonder if I can persuade her the next time I'm up!
I’ve found buttons and thread spools buy you at least 45 minutes in a fabric shop when you have toddlers in tow 😂😂 Hope you had a wonderful time with your sister! What a treat!! Xxx
Hello Tanja, If you have a wool program on your washing machine, wash your wool suiting in the washing machine. I even was my cashemere in the washing machine. Besides, dry cleaning is super bad for the environment so win win.
Oh wow the gingham blouse is going to look amazing ❤ Some really lovely makes - love your peppermint trousers. Can not wait to see what you make with the pink candy stripe denim xx
love the gingham for the New Look top! great haul. Don't ask me about wool - I made some lovely Bisque trousers from a wool mix fabric which I must have pre washed because I always pre wash my fabric, but they shrunk horribly after the first wear!!!! I would definitely pre wash and be careful how you wash them!
Thanks Sarah. What a shame about your trousers, so frustrating! I have to say I'm a bit nervous about using the fabric but hopefully that won't put me off using it.
Good luck with your new job. Great catchup, thanks. I have been watching another new sewing vlogger, and she's brilliant and so funny Kay Eldred. See what you think
Love your fabrics and the Peppermint trousers are fabulous. I hope you sister had a brilliant weekend, I can imagine the smiles and giggles when you arrive on her doorstep. Good luck in your new job, not that you need it. Lots of love ❤
Thank you Katherine 🥰 Her face was hilarious, she was completely gobsmacked and didn't know what to say! She was over the moon, especially to see my daughter who adores her x
Lovely makes, I've indulged in some online Legend textiles therapy after all the recommendations and was really pleased with the fabrics. Good luck with the new job
Congratulations again on the new job- it’s so exciting to start a new chapter! Hopefully you’re able to find a way to have time to sew once you get settled in. How cool to go to Legend textiles! It seems like such a great company and it’s sweet how kind they were to you and your family. I’m sure the surprise went over so well and your sister was SHOCKED to see you and your daughter at her door. Surprise visits are so cool 🤗
Hi Erin, thank you so much. Starting anything new is always a learning curve and a juggling act with family but I'm really enjoying it so far. I had a brilliant time with my sister, it was so good to see her 😊
Thank you for sharing all your fabrics and makes! SoCarole recently was given some fabric from that S's Creek and has spoken it on her vlog several times. 😊 And I think if you spell it correctly, it's not a problem. We had quite a discussion about the show, as I've got some licensed fabric from that show but am stalled because it's a crafting cotton. I need me a "David" sweater!! I've used the bubble double gauze (?! 😆) a few times. I use just the point of the iron to press the seams, and as soon as it goes through the laundry, it won't look any different than the rest of the garment. It does make the best PJs! 🥰 Wonderful videos!
Hi Lynn, thank you for watching. I had no idea there is S.Creek fabric, oh my goodness I need to get some ASAP! I bought my sister a Rose Apothecary hoodie for her birthday and she loves it, it's one of those things that only certain people will understand the reference of the logo. PJ's is a good idea for the pink fabric, perfect for the summer 🌼
Hi we’ve just had about seven, eight days of HEAT like 30/31C every day. After rain and cold for March April and May. Fed up everyone was. Now 29.6.24 it’s cold and miserable again. Till next time.
Good luck with your new job Tania. lovely fabrics, looking forward to seeing what you make with the check linen. I went to Legend Textiles about 2 weeks ago, lovely fabrics at great prices.
When I've worked with wool for work trousers, I've cut a square say 12x12cm and washed it in the machine to see what would happen. It didn't really shrink much, but it did felt a bit, so I decided not to pre-wash it. I don't wash the finished trousers, I just steam them or hang them outside if I think they could use a refresh. I have another pair that I fully lined with silk and I do the same thing, though I could theoretically separate the lining layer and hand wash that if required.

Thank you, I'll have a look for her video and will try the patch test 🌼

Hello Tanja,
If you have a wool program on your washing machine, wash your wool suiting in the washing machine. I even was my cashemere in the washing machine.
Besides, dry cleaning is super bad for the environment so win win.
Thank you, that sounds like a very practical solution 😊
I made that jumpsuit in the 80s. I wore it with a bat winged striped top! I think you’ve inspired me to make another one!
That's brilliant, it's a nice, easy and quick make. Definitely give it another go 😊
I tend to cut a small swatch and check how it reacts to one of the gentler cycles on my washing machine.
Thank you, I'll try that 🌼
Congratulations o your new job. It’s wonderful that you & your daughter can surprise your sister. It will be a very special time.
Thank you, I'm so excited to be starting. We had a fantastic weekend together 🌼
Oh wow the gingham blouse is going to look amazing ❤
Some really lovely makes - love your peppermint trousers.
Can not wait to see what you make with the pink candy stripe denim xx
Thank you Angela 🥰 I am tempted to try the Blanca after both yours and Victoria's stunning versions. I may be coming to you for help!

Jumpsuit in the striped fabric, go for it!! It will be stunning
Thank you, I think I just might 😊
You could cut a 10 cm square and test it with different wash and dry cycles.
Thank you, a test square is seeming like the best option.
You picked a good weekend to come to Scotland weather wise. Good luck with the new job. 😊
Thanks Debbie, the weather really was perfect. We only had a downpour on our way to the airport as we left 😊
God bless you and your family ❤
Thank you 🌼
Thanks for the tips for M7325! Your lovely makes have inspired me to give it a try 🤞
Thats great to hear, it's a lovely top and I'm actually wearing one right now 😄 Thanks for watching

@@sdcgren6301 which country are you in? The weather here likes to keep us on our toes!
Good luck in your new job Tania. I hope you manage to get some sewing done.
I love the look of your canvas trousers, they look really comfy.
Hi Annette, thank you so much. So far the job is great, just need to keep my energy levels up for some sewing!
Good luck with your new job Tania. lovely fabrics, looking forward to seeing what you make with the check linen. I went to Legend Textiles about 2 weeks ago, lovely fabrics at great prices.
Thank you Judith. It's a lovely shop, isn't it, plus the staff were so kind and helpful.

Thank you for the advice, I'll definitely do a test wash on a sample to see how it copes. Thank you for watching 😊
When I have anything with wool content I wash by hand, spin and dry flat if possible.
Ah that's good to know. Do you think a cold wash in the machine would be ok, or too risky?
@@justletmesew I would try a small piece of fabric and see if it comes out the same size before washing the whole piece.
@@annhewison8989 Thank you Ann 😊
I love your vlog!
You could try to press your wool. That´s what I was told.
And I didn´t find that channel: Ripper seem
I think it is ripper seams :)
Hi Marleen, thank you for watching and the tip. It's Ripper Seams 😊
