Thanks for the help! Just use your video on an 84 Chevy K 10. It wasn’t quite the same… It was close enough though. Would’ve taken me a lot longer to figure it out on my own. Thanks again!
A little duct tape where the duct work connects could stop some mice from getting in. I think if you leave your selector at HEAT the flap will be closed so the cant get in that way either. Thats what i did.
just got a dickered 79 gmc doing the heater core replacement this week that one stud i might cut off with a dremel as this one looks to be removed from the bottom center
The studs and nuts came out easy on this one actually. That lower bottom one must have broke for someone back in the day. But a thru bolt works just fine
I noticed when i replaced mine with the same new core my heat is less than oe one. The fins are much tighter. Even burped still less heat flow. Wonderyif anyone else has this issue?
Yes same as this one not as great. It is ok. But it doesn’t cook you out. I was going to replace the thermostat in case it was weak and not getting all the way up to proper engine temp. Never did it yet though.
Just replaced my heater core (85 c/10) and now barely any heat at all coming out of vents. Replace thermostat still sucks. The hoses going to the heater core are scalding hot but no hot air. Did you figure yours out?

Do you know the part #? This looks like the same setup for my 86 G30.
94553 is the heater core number

Is it possible to change the heather to an a/c system?
Anything is possible I guess. I don’t know for sure as I have never tried. Maybe vintage air makes a kit.
i took my ac out but how did u put your blow moter back on
Wiggle and move it around. Either that or loosen the heater box assembly more or the inner fender
