I love this guy for a number of reasons 1. He doesn't make much and doesn't own much, but he still has a mindset of giving to others. I don't know how much of what he makes he gives to others, but he's a testament to the fact that we all can give. 2. He is very aware of his situation. He doesn't blame anybody for being where he is because he knows he is where he is as a result of his personal decisions. He doesn't live with a victim mentality and focuses on the blessings of his lifestyle (freedom of time, meeting many women. enough money to support his lifestyle, etc). He also recognizes that his lifestyle isn't for everybody and that not everybody will resonate with it. 3. He sets his own standards for happiness and designs his life based on what he personally desires, not what society says he should desire. He has constructed a positive self-image for himself and his life, even though his life would be considered a failure to most. 4. He is creative and resourceful, assuming he's actually paying for his appearance upkeep with the money being donated to him by strangers and isn't stealing from those drug stores. 5. Even with the uncertainty of not knowing where he's going to sleep, he doesn't live by fear and has faith that all his days will work out. Being homeless doesn't stop him from expressing his witty, confident personality. On a side, it's nice to see a commentary on how psychologically difficult homelessness can be. While it's unfortunate that he is resorting to heavy drug use to numb himself to parts of his reality, it puts into perspective how difficult it is for someone who isn't on drugs to experience the depressing reality of homelessness in a major city. I was homeless for awhile. For a girl at the age of 19? it was hard. But i didn't do drugs or drink to forget about my misery. I sucked it up, and during the day i would look for a job, at night I'd sleep in either a display shed at Lowes or the park. I was homeless for awhile. For a girl at the age of 19? it was hard. But i didn't do drugs or drink to forget about my misery. I sucked it up, and during the day i would look for a job, at night I'd sleep in either a display shed at Lowes or the park. The only reason i could hold it all together was because my boyfriend was there with me and we survived. Now I'm living at home with my parents, raising a beautiful son, and trying not to worry about the little things.

If someone was making 150 a day on the streets sober i'm quite sure they still wouldnt end up being entirely happy after all. The only way he can get things off of his mind such as depression and sadness is probably through alcohol and drugs just like what most other people do. But if he were mentally stronger he could manage to go through the 150 a day and save up put it in a bank account and easily get an apartment then find a normal job and wouldn't have to sleep over random girls houses no more and start over fresh. This man is really lucky in a way and also really unlucky. He has an addiction of alcohol and drugs but the only way to get off these narcotics is if he seeks therapy or sets a different mind set on reaching success. This man clearly doesn't have the will power to become greater than he already is, he feels safe the way things are going now and sadly will probably remain the same way over and over having the same boring lifestyle and always damaging his health by the minute. It's sad how people don't want to set goals for themselves, even small goals are really important and by small it could even be by making a new friend or getting a girl on a date or anything to boost up your morale and confidence. Without confidence you can't reach any goal and the best way to gain confidence is to get out of your comfort zone and by doing this you have to do stuff you normally never would do. Because if you play it safe all the time you never ever get anywhere in life, playing the safe game is like just waiting for nothing. Thats how this guy can pick up girls, he has built up so much confidence that he knows he has the capability to talk and flirt with any girl he wants and get laid even and it can be very easy to master but yet very hard for the few who don't take risks.
