Julius did answer the question, albeit a bit cryptic, it is clear he chooses Jordan but just doesn't want an argument about it. In this clip, at 3:02, he says "Lebron has done all and everything that anyone has ever done in the history of this league, and so did MIchael, and MIchael although maybe unfathomable, to a higher level, because he was 6-0 in the Finals and was Finals MVP every time." So yeah, he clearly says Jordan was "at a higher level" than Lebron.

But how can you say that and then in the same breath say it didn't matter if they lost all the finals as long as they get there? Everything Erving said was straight facts. Its quite pointless to debate who is a greater player on a team from 2 completely different eras. Then there are only accomplishments that can measure a player but then that can be put into context like the Wilt-Russell argument, Wilt was way more dominant but never won. Then Kareem has the greatest accomplishments from longevity but was never the best player in the league. Then MJ was the most dominant then Shaq was but then they cannot be compared due to their positions. The Lebron comes in all round great but things would be a lot different in the 90s and 80s as the basketball was much different, like Lebrons scoring would go down but his defence would be better. Then theres Tim Duncan who was never the best player in the league but still the best pf all time. Its all just context and opinion. There is no true GOAT.

    3 more final mvps
    1 more DPOY
    1 more season MVP
    9 more scoring titles
    3 more steals leader
3 more all defensive team selections
    4000 more points
    800 more steals
Beat 20 50+ win teams (Lebron only defeated 10)
Jordan NEVER averaged less than 40% Field Goal in the finals
    Lebron did it twice lol.
Had the biggest margin of defeat in NBA finals history.
    Oh and i forgot.
    6/6.
AND never allowed a game 7
    Lebron had much more help
Jordan never had a teammate averaged more than 22 points in the finals...
Kyrie averaged over 28 and DWade averaged more than 26
MJ never ever had a finals meltdown like Lebron in 2011 against the Mavs
MJ has more points in the playoffs in less games...
Played in college while LeBron did not. So take away 2 years from lebron.

@@l.a.6337 on the flip side, winning can do wonders for a team (think the New England Patriots, or the Boston Celtics if we're talking basketball), but if the overall league is not drawing in fans to watch the games, that's where the entertainment comes in. The Celtics were the Yankees of basketball with record titles won (to date, 18) and has a large number of players and coaches in the Naismith HOF, but the NBA was going stagnant. Enter the upstart league ABA, which brought a breath of fresh air and excitement, spearheaded by Dr J. When the two leagues merged, it was the Philadelphia 76ers who purchased Doc's contract from the Nets. He brought that excitement and electricity to a team, and a league, that sorely needed them. Soon, fans started coming out just to watch Doc play, specifically his legendary windmill dunks. And the All-Star game? He was a regular participant, especially in the dunking contest, which he'd won multiple times before being upset by Larry Nance, Sr. He also refreshed the rivalry between the Sixers and Celtics (with Larry Bird), then against the Lakers (with Kareem, Magic and company), winning the NBA title in 1983. He inspired a generation of players like Jordan, Wilkins, then Kobe and others to pick up a basketball and just put their own flair and flash on the game.

Yes , but in context it was who was better......He without saying it said Jordan was better than LeBron . 6 of 6 championships , 6 championship mvp , never beat . Without Jordan , the bulls never win one championship .
And today's game , Phil Jackson said in all candor , if Mike were to play in today's league you could easily pencil him in for scoring an ave 51 for his career and minimum 10 championships .
Many players in history were great superstars , ....I'd consider Dr J the 2nd best player of all time behind MJ .
No other player was able to make his teammates better like Mike , extracting the very best from.each one . And don't forget about clutch , nobody comes close to Jordan .
Many players were very good in.The clutch , nobody like Mike . And those greats were not triple teamed and even quadrupled like Mike .

He said its like making it to 8 super bowls. So tell me how many people think of the 90s bills when you talk about the greatest teams. Sure eventually their name will get brought up but going 0-4 takes them out of the convo. Winning matters. Jerry west 1-8 in the finals. If he was 5-3 he would be looked at completely differently. All time leading rebounder despite only playing 13 seasons. grabbed 55 rebounds in a game. averaged 45 minutes per game his whole CAREER when dudes these days cant even play 33 minutes a game for one season. Was a complete player offensively and defensively. Was able to block Kareem's skyhook when he was 35 and past knee surgery and Kareem was in his prime a young Buck. Humbled Magic in practice when he was 50+ years old. Probably the most athletic and strongest player ever to play."
