I used to live in Canada when this aired. It made such an impact in me storytelling wise. You sell the product seamlessly, yet on top you tell an incredibly emotional story in less than 2 mins. Fantastic job

The best Tim Hortons commercial. It was my late mother's favorite especially when the father Lou said "I come watch".

I loved the one that said "That's my grandson!" but I can't find it. This one makes me cry too.

What an amazing and inspiring presence Tim Hortons had only a few years ago. The idea that this migrant family could maintain its identity while simultaneously achieving 'Canadianness' through ritual practices and shared cultural experiences (Hockey and Tim Hortons). Contrast that with modern Tim Hortons commercials which sardonically attack the concept of hockey as an aspect of Canadian identity while asserting that all new migrants are automatically Canadian. That just physically being here magically brings people together, no actual mechanisms of identity no collective experience, no tangible soul or meaning. Tim Hortons was such a force of good once upon a time, this commercial stands as proof. It is no wonder than this commercial campaign, and others of its era, are so well represented in the academic literature of Canadian identity.

For me, Tim Hortens is at best "generic" coffee, It is not a very flattering Canadianism, I associate it with mediocrity and that is not who we are. Stop this nonsense, let us see how well it does in China. My comment is opinion only.
