  • A clip about the first Tim Horton's location, produced by community television. This clip is 9 years old, so some of the information is outdated. $1.30 for a coffee and donut...I wish!
The first Tim Horton's was in Hamilton. Tim Horton's did not start appearing in Toronto until many years later. Coffee Time and Starbucks were almost more popular. However, that is changing. Tim Horton's is now very popular in Toronto, and to this day, there are no Starbucks locations in Hamilton.

My old man says things were better in the old days. As a future old man, I'm beginning to agree.

Back when Tims had a smoking/non-smoking, fountain pop, huge cookies, coffee in glassware....those were the days.

$1.30 for a coffee and a donut and $4.25 for a dozen donuts. What is it now, $12.00 a dozen?

@tvlondon There was no date on the tape, but it is a clip from the program "Journal 14", which was not on in 1989. This program ran from 1992 - 1998, so it could be 1992.

It has to be at least 1993. The sign outside said "Tim Hortons", not "Tim Horton's". They dropped the apostrophe in 1993 due to Quebec language laws.

This didn’t age well. Only 64 locations in Hamilton today and 339 in Toronto. This guy was definitely a Ken, and terrible interviewer. Hamilton…the land of no gentrification😂😂😂

I worked with her! I worked at this location back around 1991. She was quite old then. The owner owned several other locations: Barton street, Gage and Wentworth at the time. I left around 1993.
