    As a native Hamiltonian (Birthplace of Tim Hortons) what you tasted possibly was a fraction of what Tim Horton's food used to be. Years ago it was exceptional now it becomes closer and closer to other fast food chains. The benefit of Tim Horton's in Canada is that as others have said they are everywhere especially here in Hamilton, You either have worked at a Tim Horton's or know someone who has if not you would be suspect of being a foreigner for most of the city you can walk a few blocks and you will find a Tim Hortons. We don't have a cheeseburger on our menu so that was a shock the fries were newly added I know recently most of Tim's renown comes from their donuts and caffeinated beverages breakfast menu items have been a welcome addition but Tim Hortons roots are in those items.

    Tim Hortons is popular in Canada because in many small rural towns, it’s one of the only places opened late where half the town can go to hang out. I find it to be very heartwarming. Apart from Quebec and it’s French culinary roots or First Nation food Canada has nothing, save the occasional hyper specific regional delicacy like Saskatoon Berry pie or whatever. Major cities in Canada like montreal or Toronto are known their culinary experiences but these are always ethnic restaurants serving the food of their culture. I’m Canadian, born & raised, and I worked at Tim’s for a short time many years ago. I’d say the most popular/iconic items are the coffee, TimBits, donuts, and ‘iced caps’ (iced cappuccinos- a must-have if you ever go again!). Personally, I also love their steeped tea, but I assume as Brits you constantly drink tea and are therefore particular about it (?) in which case it probably wouldn’t be up to your standards 😋
    In my opinion, Tim’s is best when they stick to breakfast foods- coffees, pastries, etc. They’ve tried to expand into lunch and dinner in recent years, but I don’t think it’s been that successful. Their lunch items are just sub-par, in my opinion… and it’s ironic that you loved the regular bread sandwich and the cheeseburger best, because I’ve never seen either of those in my life 😂 they definitely don’t sell the burger in Canada!!

Don't understand why there is a burger on the menu over there, thought they would try to make it be a bit more like the menu over here and then change things as they discover the U.K palete. The hashbrown you had does not look anywhere near what is made over in Canada. Never seen a Big Breakfast wrap and I can tell it doesn't beat the Famer's Wrap. Timbits are a national treasure! As a canadian i absolutely love the hashbrowns, timbits and the donuts. I don’t know if the hashbrowns being bad was based off of the location, but here in canada i love them.

      I think if you're used to deep fried ones, the hashbrowns being baked tastes strange. It's ok, but I do agree, things are dependent on location.

    Tims in Canada is completely different. Save for staple items like timbits and classic donuts! No burgers (unless that's a specialty in a particular province), even the wraps are different. In Canada the wraps are a lot jazzier, there's also soups that have become staples over the years. I would recommend trying the Ice Capp and fruit explosion muffin! Those have been a long time items on the menu. Definitely make a comparison video if you ever visit Canada!

    I need to check your past episodes to see where the Jolly team have been in Canada. But if you haven't as yet you have to do Beaver tails in Ottawa, loaded poutine in Montreal, Mary Browns for fast food chicken, St. Lawrence Market in Toronto, The Stampede in Calgary, Marché restaurant in Toronto, Asian food in Vancouver, Pow Wow Cafe Kensington Market for indigenous food, seafood in PEI, Medival Times, and the KEG

    I’m new to your channel and I love your videos. One thing I’ve noticed and thought I’d bring up, although perhaps somebody already has, is the pronunciation you use for McDonald’s products. I know in the US, and perhaps elsewhere in the world, the “Mc” preceding the product names is not pronounced “Muck-[name]”. It’s “Mick-[name]”. As in Mick-Muffin. The whole thing is actually quite ridiculous really (as is perhaps might even bringing this up). Regardless, I love how you guys picked up on the European McDonald’s products from the US having the “Mc” whereas the local products do not. That was brilliant! And your videos definitely make me want to try McDonald’s in other countries. Thanks for all you do, thoroughly enjoying the fun! ❤

    As a Canadian I have yet to have a good timmies coffee but they do have good doughnuts. The burger however was very unexpected but the fact it is loaded with pickles makes me want to get a timmies burger, like all of the other food chains (even when asking for extra extra extra) they only put on 3 pickles and it’s sad.

    • @Zraknul
      @Zraknul ปีที่แล้ว

      I would expect that burger is simply a Burger King double cheese burger served at Tim Hortons as they're part of the same company.
      As a former fast food burger topper, the worker might've just grabbed an extra pickle or two on the pinch from the tub and couldn't be bothered to reduce the quantity. Managers looked at average service times, not precision, so extra anything without a request is probably just going for speed.

    • @DamienDarkside
      @DamienDarkside 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Canadian Timmies switched coffee bean suppliers in the early 2010s. McDonalds in Canada saw this and immediately jumped on their old suppliers, then tried to saturate the market for McCafe.
      So McCafe in Canada is old Tim Hortons, made modern.
