    Good video mate 👍
    Had this kind of primer button on my Mazda 6 2.2 d. Always filled new filter with diesel, primed it with a push button and it never even had a hiccup on start up 😉

    Hi, Useful video, thank you. I have a 2013 Peugeot 308 e-hdi 8V FAP S&S 115 cv, and tiny diesel oil drops are found on the garage floor when I use the car and then park it. (I have removed the large plastic cover under the car and engine to try and identify the problem). If I don't drive it, the oil drops stop. When I start the engine I cannot see any diesel fuel from any of the connectors on the top of the diesel filter, nor from the fuel injectors on the top of the engine. Since looking at your video I am wondering if the leak could be coming from the bottom of the filter. I believe the tiny leak is dripping from below the diesel filter. Presumably the water sensor (on mine like yours......with no electrical connection) stays closed when the car is operating normally and nothing should come out of the bottom of the filter ?? I am wondering if my diesel leak could possibly come from a faulty seal there ?? The diesel filter was changed about 6 months ago, but I don't believe the leak started at that time. Would be interested in you opinion please.

    I have a volvo with similar engine and same filter but I can't understand why they don't put the prime pump on it whereas Peugeot and Ford version's do 🤔 thanks volvo

    I have a Peugeot 3008 (just bought it) and I think the fuel filter needs changing, the car has 120 000 miles, and I did not see any invoice for the fuel filter replacement. I also get esp asr fault and check engine light if I start the car from cold. But If I let it warm up the errors disappear. Also, when I start it the smoke is quite whitish and the fuel smells a bit too much. Thank you for the video, great work
    !

    • @Chris_CDB
      @Chris_CDB  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi mate, I would HIGHLY doubt that the fuel filter is the original filter at 120k miles, it would of definitely clogged before now, but it wouldn’t hurt to change it! The esp and asr faults will need to be scanned with a scanner to determine what the faults potentially are.

  • @tigerxra8515
    @tigerxra8515 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks. I've gotten P0087 fault on my 2007 Citroen C5 when I was flooring it to overtake a semi-truck. By the description of fault code, at one moment ecu has detected too low fuel pressure in common rail system. I think that it might be a clogged filter (or little filter in fuel tank).

    Hi mate cheers for the video just wondering if i understand that the filter doesnt actually need filled up? Like if i press the primer button enough times itll eventually fill up and start? Is that right and to do that would the fuel line have to be disconnected or would i pump the button while its connected until it goes hard? Hopefully that makes sense, cheers!

    • @Chris_CDB
      @Chris_CDB  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yea, connect up all pipes to the filter, pump the primer and it will fill the filter itself and the pipes too.

    Thanks for the vid. I am bit confused, why did you the external pump and not the pump on the filter? Do you have to an have external pump? (DIY guy here) All the best .

    • @Chris_CDB
      @Chris_CDB  14 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Some of the filter housings have a primer bulb built into them, however this model does not. So you need to use an external pump!

    If your pumping it for a while and it doesn't go stiff what could be the cause? Haven't changed the filter but did have to move it to get to the retaining nut from the fuel line after it went awol after replacing injector

    Is there a way to pre fill the filter before installation?

    • @Chris_CDB
      @Chris_CDB  5 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Not really possible without a faff, considering you would basically have to put a long tube onto the “in” side with a funnel and then let gravity fill the filter, however it’s not really feasible as your likely to pour it back out when installing it back into vehicle!

    Hi great videos! If could help me on a problem I would be very grateful 🙏 I have the same engine on a Peugeot 308 1.6 Hdi my mechanic changed the fuel filter but forgot to fill it up with diesel and now the engine won't start! He says that now there is air in the fuel installation. What can he do? He needs to use a vacuum pump and then to press the button from the top of the fuel filter? Is it neccesary to press that button ? Thank you a lot!
