Something I forgot to mention: If you're using fresh milk, you need to boil it first. In Europe, the milk from the supermarket is already pasteurized, so no need for that.
Thank you for sharing. However one thing I want to push back on. Raw milk is actually how milk is supposed to be consumed imo, I'm lactose intolerant when drinking pasteurized milk, I started drinking raw milk on raw food recommendation nutritionists and not only am I not lactose intolerant when drinking raw milk it actually makes me feel good! It took me some time to drink because I was worried about poisining etc but it turns out raw milk has the enzymes we need to digest it, when pasteurized it kills the enzymes making it hard to digest for some people. Thanks again 🙏
Thank you Paldenla 🙏🏻🌸 by not only sharing Tibetan Recipes but also speaking Pure Tibetan which will help many Tibetan like myself who doesn’t really have anyone nearby to speak our Tibetan Language. 🙏🏻🌸🙏🏻
Thanks for sharing! My mum used ghee ( purified butter) instead of butter. That adds the special flavour of butter tea which is so soothing and comforting not only to our stomach but also to our soul.
It was really hard to find butter tea made with yak butter but after 3 attempts, we finally found one place! I really love butter tea. I am addicted to it. Now, I am ready to learn how to make it. Thank you for this video!
Thank you for this. The American version made this simple recipe so complicated. It took just three ingredients to make this. But the American version with the coffee has you getting: only grass fed butter. Only this particular type coffee beans. Only unsalted butter…etc
I love butter tea as well. I grew up with it. I am from Sichuan, we drink it as well. I love and miss the one my mom made for me. we also use rice to cook it.
ཐུགས་རྗེ་གྲངས་མེད་ཆེ་།། I’m learning lot from you Palden la. Some things which we do not know how to say in Tibetans. You explains it very detail in pure Tibetan language. Thank you so much.!!
You can try to add baking soda in tea leaves when you boil it will change color to pink when you add butter. We have same traditional tea we add milk and butter both but mostly add only milk.
Oh my god ! And I used so much milk all my life. Thank you very much . Your video ms are such a treasure to Tibetan culture and tradition because nation’s diet is also our culture. Your tone and mannerism are all very professional and calming every time. Gives a sense of homelessness. Thank you!
I wonder how it tastes like? Since there is no sugar added into the recipe, only butter (unsalted, I am assuming), milk, and salt, I suppose it would taste simply creamy, herby, and a bit of salty?
I'm drinking some right now for the first time, yes it's creamy, bit salty, but also earthy if you use pu-eurh tea which is the one that Tibetans use. I have a bit of a sweet tooth, but I feel like making it sweet would ruin the warm home-y feeling you get when you drink it. It's really nice.
So how is it that salt is used with MILK? I have read that milk with salt combination brings such inauspicious sickness as leprosy....anyways, ghee or butter is different from milk, and I make butter tea with only butter. I use straight cinnamon instead of various other teas mentioned. It is very yummy. Thank you so much.🙏🏾
where did you read that? there's so much misinformation and fallacy on the internet, buddhist monks in tibet drink 60 cups of this almost everyday and they don't get leprosy
Thank you for the recipe, butter tea always brings back impressions and memories from Lhasa as a kid. Going to the shoddy amusement park in the lukang where you could ride a camel and go on flimsy carousel-like things and the zoo at norbulinka (which in retrospect wasn't the nicest zoo hahaha). Best wishes
I remember reading Lobsang Rampa books in my teens. That's when I heard about this tea for the first time. Might try this recipe with my English breakfast tea...😅😅😅😅
Would it be sinful to put sugar instead of salt? I'm thinking it would be really cool to have a creamy tea, but rather than it being salty, it's sweet.
Thank you for asking. I forgot to mention this. The milk from the supermarket in Europe has already been pasteurized. However, if you use fresh milk, you need to boil it first.
Tibetan brick tea (or zang cha) is a dark tea (post-fermented tea) that is made in sichuan for export to Tibet. Puer is from Yunnan but it is also exported to Tibet.
Something I forgot to mention:
If you're using fresh milk, you need to boil it first. In Europe, the milk from the supermarket is already pasteurized, so no need for that.

May the world be free of American and European colonization that is still going on!

How do they bind the blocks of tea together?
That's a nice teacup, the silver looks hand hammered. Is it an antique?
Does anyone have any suggestions on which Tibetan brick tea to get on a college student budget? Thanks!
Black tea ( Lipton)
Ripe Puer tea

How can I make this Tibetan butter tea without a hand blender or stand blender?? As I don’t have both of them. Thanks. 🤔
I would love to try! But the problem is I never have seen brick tea in New Zealand's super market. Can I use just regular black tea?
Yes you can :)
@@PaldensKitchen Thanks for your reply! I will give it a try :)
1 half litere water, 500g butter,50ml milk,tea50g
I would like to try that someday, if I can get the right kind of tea. And I'd probably have some of Dickydol's Fancy MoMos with it.
Can I add tea and butter directly into milk for more dense texture?
Plz Can share vegetarian Tibetan recipe with us ?

How does tibetan brick tea differ from puer tea? I used to think they were the same
