I grew up drinking Tibetan salt butter tea so when I first time drank sweet milk tea or any other sweet tea I didn't like them at all. Now I drink sweet tea but I don't love them as much as Tibetan tea.
hmm , if you had a tibetan butter tea at a monastery then you are lucky. they make tea very taste. we Tibetans used to drink butter tea and it is rooted in our blood especially elders once are addicted to it.
Those who want Tibetan tea bricks, you can get it in Tibet or Nepal. Tea bricks are made in Tibet. Some Tibetan shops in India may sell it. They get it from Tibet or Nepal. But it is not easily available in India. I normally use CTC tea for Tibetan tea. But don't use Darjeeling tea leaves or blended like CTC tea + Darjeeling tea leaves or Indian masala flavoured tea leaves.
@@roseline4213 Full form of CTC is crush, tear, curl. This is how this type of tea processed. But I am just lay man, not professional. In common terms, CTC tea is has small round pellets. Mostly called Assam tea. It is different from dust tea, long leave Darjeeling tea.

Hi, I'm interested in making butter tea but since I live in canada, I can't get any of the Tibetan tea bricks. Would another type of compressed black tea like chinese pu erh work?
Thank you for tea. We stay in South India , Can't get yak butter and tea bricks. It's okey if we use our regular tea powder and buffalo butter. A line of reply is highly appreciated.
Anyone trying to blend hot liquid in blender needs to be careful. If there is no BIG opening on the lid of blender jar, blending hot liquid will make the mixer grinder splash out the hot liquid forcefully. This is my personal experience.
@@DickeyDolrecipes I am using a Phillips mixer grinder. Its jars have no clasp on the lids. We have to press our palm on the lid when grinding or blending. The lids of the jar have only a small hole, which is little bigger than the hole in rosary beads. So, when blending hot liquid, the hole on the lid is too small to let the hot steam escape. This builds up the steam inside and causes the hot liquid to splash out forcefully. User manual of my mixer grinder also says not to blend hot liquid. To overcome the problem, I blend only lukewarm liquid and fill the jar only half. I also use electric hand blender which is completely safe and doesn't splash the content even if the liquid is hot. But I think blending in mixer grinder gives better taste when making butter tea. Electric hand blender makes the tea very forthy and it doesn't taste as good as the one blended using mixer grinder.
Butter tea is a Tibetan traditional tea and it is rooted in our blood. So in Tibet our people used to drink butter tea whole day which approximately equal to 4-5 liters or more. Weather at Tibet is cold and people loves to drink butter tea. Now if you ask me whether butter tea is healthy or not. I want to say it depends on many factors. So best thing is consume two -three cups a day will not effect your health (hopefully). Tea leaves we used to add in it is not the powdered tea leaves. It is bit different but you can get it from Tibetan market. Butter can be any butter. Cow or Dhi butter are better and it taste better. Otherwise you can use any butter
You have told us a very amazing recipe the bomb but only the problem is that is your Akcent with which we do not understand even one single word how to make a perfect tea.😀

Boil it for 5min but it depends on your tea brick (if it’s good then 5min and if not good then it’s 10 to 15 min)
