I've been having alot of fun as a solo player. Just beat a M3 depths yesterday and enjoyed the challenge. I hope they still iron out alot of the networking/bugs/balancing but overall I feel like the game is in a decent spot.
The issue with upgrading artifacts is that the text filters don't see the upgrade recipe. You have to unequip the artifact like you said but you also have to scroll down to the bottom of the list. If you try to filter to find the recipe it will not find it.

What asmon said about expansions was very true. I hope the WoW devs can figure out a way to fix this in the future, but if New World continues this way it'll be an amazing game by next expansion.

so sad, i'm type mmorpg gamer myself, if this game not broken at launch, i would playing this game with my friends now.. even when all my friends left, i played it alone hoping the game gettin better (til 400-500 hours) .. so much potential wasted but still best gameplay action mmorpg for me. my first hard-fought boss dungeon experience with my friends still lingers in my head till now makes me more sad haha
Does anyone know if Asmon ever talked about the fact that non-PVP artifacts are locked behind high level pvp rewards? (mainly talking about the nimble coat)
I am so happy about this. Finally those pve players will know what its like. Spending 100s of hours doing pve just to pvp. I hope the elitist type pve people go hella dry on serenity haha payback time
They do have difficult mobs in the new zone. They are called elites.
The main thing I absolutely love is the open world pvp. They added daily Influence Races that encourage everyone to participate in order to throw a territory into conflict for war declaration. The main problem I have related to this is that, if there are too many people at a capture point, you'll be teleported to town. You can be killed while teleporting.
The other issue is that they locked a few artifacts (max gear score uniques that you can only obtain once) behind pvp track levels. The best-in-slot gear I want are weeks away of grinding PvP. Some artifacts are locked behind PvE content like expeditions (dungeons) and open world mobs. The worst part about the PvP track is that, you have to get to rank 100 to even get a CHANCE of getting the artifact. You can only pick 1 of 3 offerings from each checkpoint. There are 3 checkpoints per track. The 3rd checkpoint is typically the one that has the chance to give you the option for the artifact. There is an indefinite amount of grinding for the artifacts from the PvP track and that feels bad when the only real way to grind it is between: mindless PvP faction missions, queuing the coin flip OPR and hoping you get a decent enough team where you cna get full credit for the match (obtain ~3k score by the end), spamming 3v3 and hoping you don't get 2 healers on your team, and fort capturing on cooldown.

Exactly, most people say its completely boring and its a piece of shit. Basically the oly thing that makes me keep reconsidering is the looks of the game. I watched PvP videos and they looked like complete clusterfuck, so id play it as a PvE game for sure. But combat is supposed to be quite boring as well, idk. Only crafting is a bit meager for me.
Depends how much you like grinding really. Youll def get your moneys worth time wise but its mostly just grinding various skills and armor sets for the end game which is mid asf. No raids or anything just a couple dungeons

@13:40 lynx, bears and crocs used to be SUPER dangeous to fight. Especially in the preview event.
i reinstalled this game yesterday, immediately could not use any of the weapons the game gave me due to a bug, then saw a horse ride past with no running animation and the player floating above it - immediately uninstalled.

The DLC came with a bunch of bugs that took another two weeks to fix but it feels ok now. I didn't like the expertise system but progression now seems like its almost exclusively tied to crafting. You can find 700GS items in the wild but they are very rare and almost non-existent in PVP aside from the artifacts. Lotta grinding now if too want BIS
You NEED to level up your crafting to get bis items anyway since you gonna need to craft them, so put some time aside and do some crafting :).
The gypsum kiln lets you craft damn near bis gear with only 1 lvl into an expertise so if you don’t care to max out crafting the perfect gear you can still become very close to BIS

i feel like the DLC took part of the base game away from the people that don't want the DLC, the 16:30 moment where he explain, the DLC feel big because they removed a bunch of things from the base game that you can't do anymore until you buy the DLC, that's why the reviews are still not going up on steam

Playing Guild Wars 2 and New World at the same time makes New World so hard with these horses, it is absolutely embarrassing how clunky they are in New World.
Asmongold always compliments stuff that GW2 had for years, yet he still refuses to try it lol
Yeah GW2 mounts are insanely good compared to like every other MMO. I wonder if Asmon has seen that Preach tried out gw2 because he loved it for the most part.
Gw2 is an amazing game, it's almost illegal that he hasn't even tried it, the leveling system is fun af

It honestly feels like this, no matter how many people told and tell him over the years that everything he always asks for in videos like these and things he really likes are in GW2, his problem is he had the "WoW is better syndrome, like Preach and myself back in the day but never moved on from it and is now stuck with "GW2 cant be good" so weird.@@tacothunder2298

I bought the expansion a week ago. I haven't been able to play because I'm not waiting for a server queue and the game won't let me switch to another server

11 expeditions , pvp , trials, sandworm raid apparently = 0 endgame
@oxsila REAL end-game content.Once again, PvE wise, lame,shallow,lifeless MMO.PvP I could care less about PvP, but if it had real end game PvE , I am sure there would be way more people playing the game.

The animations for the mounts, and look of them is nice. Not enough to bring me back into NewW. But... entertaining to watch.

ive been enjoying the new expansion tbh. I stopped playing a couple months after the game released, and came back and maxed a new character recently.
I don’t think a low level mob should be able to stagger me at max level
rofl, I fell off my horse into the river during the same race in reekwater and failed. I felt redeemed seeing lazy peon go the same route and I had the same reaction !, I was so pissed :D
the difference in how LP approached NW expac vs GW2 expac is like night and day.
"That gear grind was not fun to do", BIG MOOD. Me who lauch played, grinded most profs to 200, gear grind fucking killed me. XD
New World is my most played MMO, but I have just dropped off again because of lack of content. Leveled to 65, got to GS 695 and the only thing left to do was get to GS 700 but for what? Just to fo the same dungeons at M3 instead of M2... I'll come back again with another content update but there just isn't enough to do in the game really.
Yeah, as long as new worlds end game loop is trash, they will never retain a large player base
@@joshholmes1372 Its just not for the new lifers. Its a niche MMO that caters to a more casual player base. There are plenty of other MMOs that you can sink thousands of hours into if that's your thing.
The update was great, but they still suffer the same problem as the past 2 years:
No cross-realm dungeons. No cross-realm raids. No cross-realm arena. No rated OPR. No rated arena.
Generally, players quit because the servers suffer from the default MMO update cyclus:
Update happens... tons of people come back and new people start... everything is busy as heck!
1-2 months later: Servers start dying out really hard, because as any other mmo, the influx of casuals drop off dramatically once the new content has been consumed and the people who stick to the game, can't do the things they want to do, because of the lack of cross-realm features for group and raid content.
I don't understand why cross-realm wasn't a primary goal with the initial release... imho, it should be so easy to for-see the problems coming from having a game with just 2-3k players per server and no ability to queue for group stuff with cross-realm parties.
Cross realm is on pace for next season. Hopefully now they are done focusing on the leveling experience more stuff is in the pipeline for endgame and the overall experience.

I know it is, but the game has been out 2 years and this has been the pain spot that keeps emptying the servers...... guess what the servers will look like, population wise, in 50 days? they are already on a big decline barely a month in, by December they'll be ghost towns again.@@propersod2390
They should've released the expansion in December along with cross-realm functionality, to retain a bigger chunk of the players for a longer time.

I mean the content added wasn’t enough for me to justify 30$ on the game weather it’s free or not and I have 3 level 60 characters🤷♂️ I’ll get it when it goes on sale next month for Black Friday when the actual value is 15$🤣

I am glad that this game is making a comeback in healthy way. More and more people are considering this to be actually a good game. And the best part which gives me hope is that Amazon is doing good job reviving game without making it a trash P2W game, so hopefully this will give them enough good insight on what people like and respect when it comes to MMOs - so let's hope their next online projects/games will be better at launch than NW.
I really hope the environment design team gets to work on another project with a better foundation because the environments alone excite me but NW just isn’t for me.

Swimming life skill not going to happen because we maxed it out already in the opening scene. We would've drowned without it
NW "Expansion" was a joke. Took me like 10 hours to finish everything on the map (Terribly small map) . . . now just a gear grind. Big let down, last expansion I will pay for in this game!

So I was playing Last Epoch while listening to this VoD and started getting confused, because New World and Last Epoch use the exact same sound board.
The game has been good since the fresh start happened, what the problem is the endgame being farming umbrals to run the same dungeon all week to upgrade a set of every type of defensive set just so you can upgrade a pvp set.
Then theres the war system that is incredibly sweaty and involves people that openly buy gold and there are tons of musket hackers.
I loved it for a time but im never going back. What they need to add is mock-wars so companies can practice defending and attacking without needing to push a territory all day to have a single war in 2 days.
But did they ever add a swimming animation or are players still walking at the bottom of rivers like they’re made of rocks
the only issues i had with new after expansion was shirking heals being crazy op, and bugged quests. i never had any other issues no dsync or character bugs, nothing. id say its actively the best mmorpg right now
The wars have been fun too, I have been using pestilence and it slaps healers. I have some vods on my channel. I think the games combat and PvP has always been good but now with artifacts the power level between a 690 and 625 is huge. Especially for open world or war where gear score matters.
And you used to get to 700 easy but they’ve nerfed mutation loot so if you waited to farm mutations you’re kinda fucked on the easy gear thing but PvP track offers good gear and the TP is full of high GS items they’re just expensive.

The worst one for me being the TERRIBLE server system, you should NEVER be kicked from your hoke reakm for not logging in constantly, thats ridiculous. (It also makes returning friends very difficult to play with for no reason)

If the mount wasn't dlc plus locking old areas and adding them as "dlc" weren't a thing I'd think new world is a decent game
Letting players do every single refining and crafting skill has to be one of the great blunders in modern gaming.
I came back after a 2 month break. There was literally nothing to do anymore. Now it feels like a new game.
I didn't even hear they were making an xpac... I still haven't done the brimstone stuff or even the new player experience.... been putting it off. Might have to get on that now.

It’s fun when it’s not lagging. If you play during the day it’s nice. At night it’s a crap shoot.
New player to new world. My observation: It sucks to start from behind. Its very difficult to get expeditions. Lv 60 cap (no expansion) means you are cut off from the last leg of the game completely. Artifact farming will be very difficult since the majority of players already have farmed them and there is no real reason for lv 65s to do any previous content nor is there a reason to farm the artifacts one they have gotten theirs. I think FF14 does a better job incorporating high level players into earlier content and would benefit the game as a whole to take a second look at it all. Game is plenty pretty, leveling is plenty smooth. Would be nice to see some touch ups on underused skills.

I kind of want to play the game, but I quit around level 20 I believe because the game locked me behind a window of having to level up certain skills to level 50 and I hated that.
It's basically a modern runescape where grinding life skills is a big part of the game. If you don't like that then of course you won't like new world

Back then in Albion Online there’s a Guild that was so good they conquered the entire continent of the game, then they said that they are so strong thwt no one can beat them, and then they all quit game and change into new world idk about them now but in albion they are legends

I was just looking at buying the base game to try it, now I read that tons of content from the base game is locked behind the expansion (like old dungeons). The fact that they moved core game content into the expansion pay wall has now made me lose any will to give it a try.

It was good when it first released, but imo it’s not worth getting into anymore as the player count and hype is gone, which ultimately ruins the whole experience for me. Just my opinion though..
Just so you know you will pay more if you just buy the base game. Buy both it's worth it. It took them 3 years after buying the base game for them to get me to spend another $40 that's a better deal than wow

I would say that New World will stay at this pace, rising in popularity with new developments, and declining after a while. This could continue if they continue to update the game and add interesting things
They need income, if people consistently play they will make more content.
If this is one of the best expansions ever then blood and wine or phantom liberty better be there too

32:08 a toddler can learn basic swimming after like like 50 hours. You Amazon new world can't swimming 3 years into the game. And still cannot swimming even after learning how to raid the horse.
