    What do you think of the new Honda Civic? Let us know in the comments below!

      Car is amazing, but again same mistake as in many reviews: There is NO eCVT transmission, Honda never said there is such a thing, especially if that is proprietary Toyota's transmission and there is NO transmission in e:HEV system. This eCVT nonsense is coming from some silly PR text of sales man without technical knowledge.

    • @BuckleUpShow
      @BuckleUpShow  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The eCVT term is coming from Honda themselves. That’s how they want it to be known.
      Look at the transmission specs on the link below www.honda.co.uk/cars/new/civic-hybrid/specifications.html

    • @StanTrnik
      @StanTrnik 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BuckleUpShow No, it's coming from UK sales guys. If you check German site about civic, there is no single word about CVT. Honda doesn't want to be known as CVT, as there is no CVT at all in any Honda car a it made bad name for Toyota hybrids and their vacuum cleaner sound. Lets hear it directly from Honda's technical expert: th-cam.com/video/6glpZTRT6qE/w-d-xo.html

    • @BuckleUpShow
      @BuckleUpShow  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Please read our previous comment, follow the link in it and read what Honda have put on their own website under the "Transmission" specs. We are aware of what their e:HEV system is, and if you listen to this video its setup is described.
      And as a matter of fact, if you open the description of the video that you yourself have linked to us and scroll down, the transmission there is also described as an e-CVT!

      @@BuckleUpShow Look my friend, you said in your video: "I struggle to explain it, because, to be brutally honest I don't fully understand it." so I want to explain it to you, I copied link to exact moment where Honda's Technical Expert Honda said: "There is NO CVT or planetary gearbox" (you can listen to complete explanation of i-MMD) and I copied link to German Honda page where is no single word about CVT, so why do you still believe that nonsense from UK Honda page? And as matter of fact, that description under the video is product of some independent Greek YT channel that got same nonsense information as UK sales team, so: Do you believe Honda's Technical Expert, or UK sales page that is different from German page? That ICE is able to change rpms independently solely because there is no transmission whatsoever as it's directly connected to generator. ECU is controlling if ICE will rev to stable rpms and make maximum of power thru the generator, or if ICU will loose some of efficiency and simulate gear changes. You can choose from these two modes. Second one is by default, first one is initiated as launch control: you can push brake pedal in sport mode down, push accelerator pedal down, release brake and you will get that linear rpms - vacuum cleaner sound we know from Toyota THS. One sales man decided that Honda should use popularity of Toyota's e-CVT in their hybrid and now many reviewer repeat that nonsense. Please, don't be one of them.

    I test drove one on 4 January, and ordered one (Sport in sonic grey) when the test drive was over I was so impressed.Sadly it's delivery date keeps going back and I'm now looking at September at the earliest. I'm moving from an Audi A3 35Tfsi SLine Stronic to the Honda, so that's a measure of how good I found it to drive.

      I’m waiting for my blue Advance ordered in Sept. 2022 with an expected delivery of August or Sept. 2023 (it was originally going to be March 2023 when my BMW M340i was due to go back. I was very impressed by the Civic… ride and handling as good as the BMW and, around town, the initial acceleration seemed virtually as good as the BMW (instant torque from the battery; obviously at 80mph+, the BMW picked up speed better). I thought the build quality was excellent and seats were more comfortable than the cardboard like ones in the M340i. I notice Honda no longer have Civics on display in showrooms so it has effectively withdrawn it from sale in order to catch up with demand.

    How does it stack up price wise against the competition.

    • @BuckleUpShow
      @BuckleUpShow  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s not as simple to compare models as the only real direct competitor is the Toyota Corolla. No other rivals offer the conventional hybrid setup. The Corolla starts at just over £30k but in a compatible spec, it’s £33k. The Honda is nearer to £34k, but as I say in the review, the Civic is faster, cleaner and more fuel efficient. Not to mention the driving dynamics are superb. The Astra plug-in hybrid starts at nearly £38k and a Golf GTE starts at £40.5k!

      Not at the expense of any enjoyment while driving.
      I’m sure the stats will be right, as they were tested by Germans, but I’ve been in nearly all the Civic’s rivals and I’d be very hard pressed to tell you I noticed it was considerably louder. Thanks to the e:Hev, I’d say it was remarkably quiet most of the time.

      Japanese cars always had poor sound deadening, nothing new here. I'd rather apply additional deadening here instead of going for a crap German car.

      To be honest has someone who owned a almost silent car I was glad to sit in this car and hear some noise. I had forgotten how good it felt to be part of the road. To hear the tyre noise etc. It is not massive and adds to the driving experience.
