What are some of the best resources to help start getting into Fable speedrunning? Are there any guides that are particularly up to date?

I'd like to think so, it's a bit of a longer run, but there's a lot of cool tech and tricks shown off here!

This game means a lot to me, me and a friend used to do a complete playthrough everytime he came in to town wich was once a year, he died like 3 years ago, i still play the game as tradition, but i've never been able to complete it this fast
That's such a sweet tradition to continue
exactly the same tradition I have with my cousin who moved to a different country when i was young, i'd always go to his place and we'd take turns running through it.

i was so suprised when that dude became a traitor...... the runner literally said "hes def not a traitor" like 900 times.
1:36:39 Clears the entire camp within 10 seconds, but that mercenary is still like "Need someone to watch your back?" That was funny to me. Nice run Etem.
This was very enjoyable. It was fun to see a notoriously broken (in the balance sense) game taken to its most logical extreme. This sort of 100% profile is the sort of thing that I'd have spent a solid 25-30 hours completing when I was a kid.

if you know what abilities to combine it can get pretty broken yes.
I really enyjoyed this run, especially when it caught momentum over time. That was really a superb job in commenting by Etem; congrats with the Skorms Bow!

Fantastic run! It was really enjoyable to watch, and the runner's commentary made it even better. The entire time felt like a trip through memory lane. Because of the length, I watched it in short bursts, but it was never hard to get back into the next day. Definitely one of my favs from this ESA.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! It's quite a long run I agree, in the future it's more likely I'll be running shorter categories like Any%, but I'll still be streaming 100% here and there on my Twitch page for sure! :)
I've been playing fable tlc for over a decade and even I didn't know some of the things you did in this video. Thank you for this amazing run.

OMG YES, I remember having the worst diarrhea one monday morning so I had to skip school and spent like two days pooping and playing this beast of a game.... good times

Good stuff, when i was younger i finished this game 10+ times. I even found some of these glitches myself f.e. buy a lot of apples sell a lot of apples and thanks to inflation profit.
Etem is a pretty cool guy! Awsome game and a very entertaining speedrun!

i remember that feeling when i realized that you can use exp potions while under combar buff - so isntead of 1k exp you got 20...
On top of that you can get infinite combat multiplier by hitting baldy in bowerstone quay after his questline.

i woke uš to this damn.. fable was my childhood and finished it anniversity one few months ago, such blast of the game.. sadly new games are nothing like fable..
Watching this really makes you realise how much was missing from fable 1 original!

I remember when I was younger, not knowing how to switch weapons in this game. I want to say I completed the game using only a stick, or the sword you are given sometime during the tutorial.

I don't remember the details but I think I had finished bioshock infinite with just 2 guns max because I thought you could only have two and just replace them

Hahahaha. Similar thing happened to me, I found an obsidian axe/ hammer? In the grave yard that I dug up, my stupid arse dragged it along the floor for the rest of the game not knowing how to make myself strong enough to use it

I should have had enough of "Maze is a traitor" jokes after the first two, but for some reason I surprised myself laughing at most of them.
Also, I see I'm not the only one who treats themselves to 34 emeralds in Oakvale until the money surpasses 100k.

Holy shit when I read 100% I was thinking just doing all the main missions and getting to the end of the game normally. But ALL quests and all silverkeys and all legendary weapons? Damn
Wow. I played this game for weeks when I was a child, and still didn't find everything! For example, I was totally unaware about Ghost Pirate...
4 years later I thought of Fable and hadn’t played this since maybe 2010 loving speed runs so nostalgic and loving how well u know the game, I was wondering why not play the match making game it’s an easy win but the merchant buys and sells I didn’t even know I thought there’d be something with it tho, always thought the card game was the easiest way to make money when I was 15 in 2010😂
in an 1hr and 20 minutes you got further in the game than i did in my entire childhood.

i was 7 when i first picked up this game and it was my first rpg, so i had no idea that games could be this in depth haha at 1hr 20 minutes i knew that was how far id got too because i distinctly remember i had too bring my friend over after school too finish the arena quest for me, but my old xbox never saved it so id been stuck ever since haha
I wonder who wrote the soundtrack to this game. It's absolutely brilliant.
Russell Shaw did most of it. Danny Elfman did the main theme.

i absolutely love this game. my problem with 2 and beyond was that you could die but it didnt respawn you some where, make you load your game, you just resed where you die infinitely. which is sad cause 2 would of been perfect with this ones difficulty. but fable 1 had the best choices end game everything i love this game.
3:22:22 people knew about sword of aeons clip in the early years of the game, before speedrunning was a major thing
This is the first game I've seen where it makes sense to make time take longer to progress in order to speed things up.
If you're talking about the Pub Games, it's mostly for safety sake, the card sorting one (even though I messed it up multiple times, oops) can be pretty easily done without Slow Time, the main one that concerns me is Spot The Addition as it's a very difficult minigame with a rather short time limit! I've pulled it off maybe 3 times ever without Slow Time, not an easy feat for me! :P
That's exactly what I mean. Spot the addition looks easy to me but I wouldn't be surprised if it proved to be harder than it looks while in a run.
allooutrick rng can be a pain, no matter how good your approach is.
If one were going for wr instead of marathon, it may make sense to risk it, but aside from that, well, you know; marathon luck.
@@CGoody564 to that I totally agree. I love Marathon runs because the runner isn't pressed to get a new best time. There's also a handful of speed runners I regularly watch live streams of as well. I suppose my comment could easily be taken under several different contexts.

This is kinda late, but in the beginning of the run he said it was all quests, keys, legendary items, demon doors, stuff like that.
I'm surprised you didn't show off the Permanent Rage mode glitch.
There has never been a time Whisper was nice to the player, the prisoners at least inform the player on how to escape.
Also the prisoners are meat shields.

Wouldn't getting the Skorm bow early speed the run up overall? You can get the Skorm bow on the trader mission.

How many mana potions would you estimate are used in this run?
Somewhere around 80-90 I believe he buys 38 mana potions twice in the run
You don't even have to talk to the ghost to complete the quest

Is the blueberry pie mini quest at the start not counted towards the 100% run? thought it would have been seeing as theres only 1
It's mostly because it isn't counted a quest by the game - funnily enough, this was a genuine question we asked as a community of whether to include it, but it opened up a rabbit hole of needing to get other single location items that didn't count towards anything. I would've liked to carry the pie with me all the way to the end of the game though :(
That and the running contest is the ONLY 2 things I do every run just because lol but either way man great run and great commentary, keep it up fam.

@@Scranuel What abominations are you hinting at, you must be suffering from a head injury if you think that there are anymore Fable games after the third one. No idead what kind of things you're talking about, maybe some hyphotetical on-rails game and others that totally don't relate to the Fable franchise.
My bad... I must have had a bad dream about some kind of cooperative mobile game that no one cared about and a failure of a Kinect game that may have single-handedly destroyed the franchise... Thank God it was only a nightmare.
I dont care how bad the sequels were, Lionhead were a really unique game studio, it sucks they were shut down. We'll never see another fable game again

Ah, Fable. Good game but too short, imo.
If you want to do evil, this is the game for you. Holy crap, I played it like 15 years ago and still feel bad for some of the things I did in it. Even though it's just a game, killing that rival girl, her father and the guildmaster... man, that felt bad like few games have been able to. A fine 2nd place after Undertale for feeling bad about doing evil things in a game.
