2003 Audi S8 Rebuild Project Update: Title Woes

If you've been following along with the accident rebuild of my wife's former daily driver 2003 Audi S8 then you know we're nearly done with it. The issue I am now facing is that once a car is issued a salvage title in the state of Minnesota it needs to be inspected before it can get a rebuilt title issued to go back on the road.
It sounds simple enough, but sadly in Minnesota it isn't.

Same thing happening in Washington state. Been through it a handful of times over the last couple of years, and the manager of one of our inspection centers said that due to the forced layoffs of those who refused to take the Vax, the whole system got short staffed overnight. They add new appointments every Tuesday at 11am for all of Washington state and they're all gone within 1-3 minutes like clockwork. Best of luck with getting yours in.

Wow that sucks real bad, I had no idea that salvage titles were that much of a nightmare to deal with. I mean, outside of how much of a nightmare dealing with the DMV is here anyway...

Sounds like you need to visit an inspection station with a white envelope handshake.

End of July - I'm hopeful it's just an IT issue with their scheduling algos.

...in regards to fuel - just post "free pump gas" or something on craigslist and just fill up someone's gas tank who drives a beater as a commuter.

We've got a significant history of DMV failures here in MN. Just Google MNLARS failure for a little glimpse. It's mind-blowing.
