To be honest, it would have been better if Pesci or Sterns characters grandson was the kid. Maybe one had a son and the other had a daughter, they met and had a kid. They could have become better people and told stories of how they screwed up as sort of a warning and it ended up being the kids inspiration for how he defends himself and the house.

I usually defend reboots for shows but This doesn't look like a reboot. It actually looks like cheap knock off of the original.

@@bigd4998 They are fckin up like they did with Ghostbusters. To be honest I didn't give a sht about a all female cast but When I read that they were just redoing the movie I was out. Why couldn't they atleast do a pass the torch. They could have just put this kid in a totally different city and Living situation. Maybe even give Easter eggs like he read about another kid being in the same situation.. ect ect...

Hard pass. In school it's called plagiarism and in Hollywood its called a reboot. Lazy writers can't come up with anything original. I would have had Kevin McAllister become the crook and match wits with a kid.

This one does have a bit of a plot twist in there that makes it not exactly the same, it wasn't great but really because the "Robbers" are actually good people trying to do good things and when the miscommunication happens then they do a morally grey thing to help their family and so when he starts hurting them, you feel BAD for them, there's no satisfaction like with the wet bandits, because they were awful people.
But these two are nice people who just went a bit crazy due to circumstances and a miscommunication/childhood imagination misunderstanding, I liked the movie but I felt awful when they were being hurt. Part of the fun is the kid taking out the dumb criminals in unique ways, but that's because the criminals are truly bad people.

Just had a thought...watched both your trailers reviews today...AND I'm pretty sure this new kid from "Home Sweet HOME ALONE" could TOTALLY take out "Ghost face" from the new "Scream" movie. No contest.

they asked why kevin didn't just call the cops or something in the OG home alone. Which he could have i guess since he ordered pizza but then again,
i doubt he wanted to get in trouble for being home alone so he didn't call the cops,
also how does his family not realize kevin is not with them,
cause they counted the neighbor kid as kevin,
so the girl said they had everyone.
tbh this is also supposed to be kind of a kids fantasy of like imagine you as a kid can fight off criminals, so questioning things i don't do for these movies, let kevin or this kid do it the hard way lol
I will say in favour for the movie, the traps look a lot better than the 4th and 5th home alone, they probably could beat out 3s traps, but I’m almost positive that they can’t come close to the 1st and 2nd home alone traps. But the traps in this one look interesting so I’ll definitely watch for the traps 🤷♂️

I have seen all the Home Alone movies (Home Alone 1,2, and 3 were watchable). This looks as bad as Home Alone 4 & Home Alone 5. The characters in the reboot just seems so artificial

Pam and Jeff is the exact illustration of poor decision making. They can contact the home owners to tell their situation instead of breaking in someone's home. Very bad movie teaching people to make bad decisions.
