I wish SCS would add a way to see your colleagues driving your trucks or to see all your trucks in your garage.
it would be really good
And I thought you were able to see them :/ oh well
True.
Watch them drive the truck might be possible. But can be boring after a while lol
Would be good, but that would require a whole lot more CPU usage. Definitely feasible, but would need some serious coding work.
What I hate is that when you get to an intersection where you have to give way to crossing traffic, they stop for you because you're just a little too close to them. And you then have too little space to drive into the intersection. And often when you enter it, the traffic suddenly starts moving again and then you get a collision.
HEAVY ON THIS
Yup... "Oh my god, this truck stopped 2 milimeters further than others! What do I do!? I better let him go, he's crazy!"
also eeeeevery time they crash into you and it's not your fault, you pay anyway... that's why i play w/o damages and fines... also i kinda like to have a heavy foot on the gas pedal... xD
And of course YOU have to pay 500€
like some idiots in real life 🤭
i always say to me, they just texting their phones and dont pay much attention to traffic
I think SCS should make it mandatory to pull the windows down when at a border post, or toll booth, since that's realistic, good immersion and very easy to implement.
Also when looking backwarts out of the window in first person cam
@@reliant_robin95 i remember that being an option in dev console, forgot the command tho...
should be an option in gameplay settings.
@@reliant_robin95there are command for that
@@davidty2006 "g_cam_window_block" But only works for mouse movement, no for headtracking as far as I know.

The ETS2 world does feel dead and I wish SCS could add more people walking about, getting out of their cars and walking into the shop or going into a cafe even if SCS could make it as an option that would be a great start and I have had friends and other players asking me why I don't have map mods and the simple question is whenever SCS brings out a map DLC or updates the current map the map mods brake and you have to wait for the map authors to fix them which can be annoying
Frr
People: **Complains that ETS2 world does feel dead**
Also people: **Still play ETS2 and buy their map DLCs**

@@automation7295 are there better alternatives?
I thinks they're saving all that part for ETS3 maybe. But that'll be a great idea for the next gen game engine of Euro. But ETS2 still got lot's of works to do to completed the outlook of the ETS3 to be imprinted 🤷♂🤷♂
I am surprised you didn't mention my personal big annoyance. Right lane (left lane in UK) ending in an exit, usually without any warning. SCS is trying to eliminate this in new map DLCs and reworked maps, but until the whole original and Going East map will be reworked, it will still be there to annoy us.
If you haven't worked it out, Little piece of advice, look at the overhead signs on the motorways, all peeling exits will be marked by it's own sign. For example let's say it''s the M1 the peeling lane will have a sign above saying Manchester with an arrow pointing to the left lane, the middle and right lane will have a sign above saying Birmingham and Grimsby with arrows pointing to those lanes. TL:DR One long sign equals no peeling, 2 signs means peeling.
UK without pro mods is horrendous. That map screams for a full remake and a potential DLC that includes the rest of Scotland, Wales and Ireland. The AI does behave really stupid at roundabouts but is more common when you drive in Eastern Europe. Someone once wrote that you're more the truck than the driver and he was completely right. SCS started taking small steps towards this but they're still pretty far. We need more interaction with the world.
Couple of thoughts:
Roundabouts are the only reason I keep traffic violations off. The AI is enfuriating!
But I also got rammed quite sometimes by cars/trucks merging into the highway and even on some special transports I get bumped from behind.
The tolls in France actually are fairly realistic. There are tons of them. And they are quite slow!
I've bought a toll identifier to cross France, Spain and Portugal and sometimes on the dedicated lane (the two on the left with a 30 on top) I have to stop waiting for the system to do it's thing.
I mean, just now 2 days ago, I went from Saint-Tropez to Palavas-les-flots, some 230km, 4 tolls, and I stopped 3 times even on the fast lane. Stupid system.
The lack of challenges, I agree.
Special jobs on difficult conditions with a tight schedule, hard traffic and bonus points for not crashing, or parking challenges where you get a limited number of manoeuvres before being punished by points could be fun.
I actually like driving in the UK, just not with a right side wheel.
Also, Iveco FTW! Best trucks ever!
That AI is true. I'm going on highway and AI goes right in front of me and than alnost instantly stops
idk what update caused it but something has made the AI go haywire, i keep seeing AI get stuck on it's self.
@@davidty2006 So did this a change came with an update? I'm new to the game, started yesterday, but the AI usually stuck and made random traffic jams by hilarious reasons. In some situations, I had to made some dangerous fouls to get these through. I hope developers fix these issues.
@@Ary634 here's a suggestion: when this happens, just alter the graphics setting and go back to driving. The other cars will then be gone. You can return to the previous settings instantly.
Not the best solution, but better than ramming your way through traffic, imo.

Old textury and graphic
We need more cabin interactions. A/C, setting up radio from tape, maybe a fridge, cabin lights without mods etc.
For me, being in a motorway just to see the fast lane cars going 60 kmh is just pain
Edit, I just literally obliterated a car that was full stop in the motorway at night while going 90 on the slow lane
Especially when everyone on the road slows down to city speed for absolutely no reason
I drive a lot in the UK thanks to Promods. Being from Wales very impressed with Promods work, if it was bog standard SCS map I wouldn’t bother at all
I know right. I don't have promods and the UK I just si boring. I really want to drive around there but it's just the same thing each time
@@partyingpotatoes7579 yeah man i just downgraded to 1.48.5 to use promods and have installed a bunch of other graphical/sound improvements and uk/ireland is absolutely gorgeous. especially the entrance to northern wales, i've been down that road quite a few times irl and it captures the coastal roads perfectly.
I agree with most of the points, however most of them can be solved with mods, sometimes even just a change to textures and changing the vegetation might help, instead of whole map mod (like New Summer mod, changes road textures and vegetation on base maps, looks much better). Or giving up on updates like I did. I was tired of fixing my mods all the time, and ages to download updates. Anyway, what I hate are new AI traffic vehicles with "GTA style" design, instead of real vehicles with no logos like before. That's a step back. Variety on cost of quality. I hate one-lane highway crossroads on base map, that is so dumb and I doubt it ever existed on any highway site in the world. I also hate like you mentioned lack of game world interaction, pedestrian crossings, people on bicycles, more people in streets, at services, etc. At least animation of handing over the job papers on borders or company entrances would improve the game. Interaction with police would be also better! Old SCS games like PTTM even had cruiser in pursuit behind you if you cause major traffic violation! Why that doesn't work today.. And about emergency vehicles - ambulances, police, firetrucks passing by with lights and siren, traffic pulling over - that would cut the boredom of driving on highways in long jobs! Of course with proper country-respective siren, not one for all like now, as Germany of France don't use wail siren like SCS has, but 2-tone, French even 3-tone (usually on private ambulance or gas emergency services). Police driving in front of you, navigating you for example to near gas station to pull you over safely, that would be cool.. But that all sounds like fantasy with SCS :D And last, about Iveco, that was my starter truck, I liked Hi-Way :D Now I am driving Renault Range T Evo since it was added. SCS should really add new Iveco S-Way, that would help with Iveco popularity.
The npc’s seem to lack general awareness of were the player is in a lot of situations, so they just drive in to you at roundabouts, when merging on highways and at tollbooths… also the amount of tollbooths, especially in France, is ridiculous. This all is partly the reason I started playing ATS a bit more, I really hate the ‘standard’ US trucks though, so I got a cabover mod from the steam workshop and drive that exclusively. ATS has its issues too of course, but I have way less ncp related issues then I had in ETS.
France also has amount of tollbooths in real life. If ETS2 players really hate tollbooths, why don't you all just tell EU to demolish all the tollbooths in Europe?
Even in ATS I've had issues with the AI driving into me. Two issues, 1 doing around 5mph over limit on a ramp to the interstate, in the left lane with the merge coming up and a guy in the right lane drives as though I don't exist and rams me, I get fined. 2 leaving a gas station after fueling and a Mustang that left the pumps after me, drives straight into me, again, I get fined.
The AI does need work. Of course, that last one fits with the stereotype of a Mustang driver.
The most stressfull thing for me, is the framedrops because of yes. Im running the game fine and somehow it feels like it's falling from 120 to 20, or even worse, teleporting forward, even in singleplayer...
Btw, i mainly drive Scania, but Iveco Stralis for the win!
Yeah Really Wierd, The FPS Drop Somehow Is Occur Although Use The Lowest Graphics And Fully Disable Traffic
G'day MrPotatoMan,
What CPU + GPU & how much RAM do you have ??? & what settings are you using ???
Running MSI Afterburner with some basic statistics on screen including "CPU Usage", "GPU Usage", "RAM Usage", VRAM Usage" & "Frametime Graph" is a good way to see what is happening with your fps consistency & whether it is CPU or GPU causing the problems.

For me I rarely go to the UK as I'm not often used to driving in the left side of the road and I agreed that the rework is long overdue now. - Besides I do sometimes go to the UK whenever I deliver there. 🙂
Being Australian even though I have most of the Map extensions I am the opposite & tend to just stck to the Tiny UK Map because of Righthand Drive.
I do go in the UK mostly for the 2 or 3 really nice sceneries it has to offer (Humber Bridge near Hull, Welsh Highlands on A469 between Swansea and Liverpool, small bits of Scotland)
Even though it isn't fresh since it's litteraly from 2010, it's still a nice place to be, the vibe feels nice (and I'm sure that with Promods it feels even more nice)
I do have a sign mod for that country though.
I usually atart in london amd then after a few days go to mainland Europe
Same I don't really drive in the UK much because it's outdated
@@shaneeslick another Aussie here, I don't mind driving in the UK (except they insist on still using Imperial measurements FFS!!!).
I agree it does sorely need an update though, and maybe adding Ireland (both Republic & Northern) to the map would be cool.
Would also like to see Greece, and further north into Scandinavia (I don't use ProMods for the reasons mentioned in this video).
I base myself in Deutschland because it's fairly central to the rest of the map.
I would like to be able to see the (un)explored roads from the job selection screen, without having to go back to the map itself, then back to the job screen.
A fully functional map on the job screen in general would be good to plan your route in advance
I agree! One way around the France/Spain Tolls is to use the Telepass although you can only drive less than 25-30km/h else, you'll just crash into the barrier. Another annoying thing is when the brake air pressure is too low and you have to wait with the engine idling for it to come back.
Put it in Neutral and start revving.
This video perfectly nailed all my pain in ETS2. The roundabout one is so accurate
Also, I hate that whenever you crash with an AI, you always get the ticket, no matter who's fault it is. Imagine getting randomly rammed from the side while driving inside a roundabout then getting a ticket for it. Pain.
You are supposed to yield vehicles on the roundabout, like in this video, the vehicle had the right of way.
@@tairikuokami Yeah, I always yield to vehicles in the roundabout whenever I ever it, but the AI vehicles never do that whenever I'm the one in the roundabout and they end up ramming into my trailer
@@GL1tch3r5 I have 2000 hours on ETS and AI vehicle never rammed me on a roundabout unjustified. Trucks are like trams they slightly go over the lane in a curve and then it can happen.
@@tairikuokami Then you're lucky i suppose, even when I am driving mod cars and buses I get randomly rammed from the side all the time
@@tairikuokami other day i had another truck cut in front of me on a roundabout so i slammed on brakes only to have a second truck come and slam into the side of me from the same entrance...
The one thing that makes me totally freak out is the AI in general. No awareness of the player, constantly doing things no one would do in RL and so on. You can he as close as you want to a perfect run and boom... they will ruin this experience right away.
Second would be the GPS which too often tells too late to change a lane if you didn't pay attention.
I've noticed problems with GPS too. In ATS it is frequently unclear in some cities, until you make a wrong turn, which exit ramp you need to take.
@@themisterchristie yep. Thing is that the triggers for those actions are waaaay to close in some cases. And if you also got the borders set to be not displayed (xxxxx) you will probably and off the map🙄
whenever i feel dumb, i'll just remember that someone x-rayed an empty flatbed.
Why would someone x-ray a flatbed? :D
@@cernoch9849 you can hide contraband or drugs under the trailer bed or around the chassis. This isn't practical but it's still a thing.
Tip for roundabout (RB) driving in both ETS and the few RB's in ATS! ignore the traffic rules and always use the right lane in the RB, the ai in the inner lane will always stop and let you past, havent had a crash in a RB for ages since i started to just hog the outerlane or in smalles one..just dominate the road and use the whole width of the RB, always use the leftmost gate in tollboths, you will not be hit in the right side from AI drivers....
Yeh I find that when I use the left-most toll booth, I rarely if ever get blindsided by AI cars, but if there are AI trucks on your right, they sometimes just merge in front of you, forcing you to either brake, change lanes, or collide with them.
Or just move to the right lane before your exit or right after the previous exit, it isn't against the law, and it works. Ofc in the UK it's mirrored.
When driving through Poland, I usually don't take the highway. Stop-and-go in the toll gate is tiring 😅
You forgot one. AI that let's you through on a road where they have the right of way. Not realistic at all.
My least favourite thing is when cars brake check you in the middle of a highway for no reason. My intrusive thoughts get the best of me, and I end up ramming into them out of anger. Wouldn't do that irl, but this game sometimes do that to me lmao
I do that when there's a cop behind me and the speed limit changes without warning, causing a fine instantly. I'll just back into them and go.
You forgot NPCs that slow down a lot in a lane loss
you were 110% right abt these things ,scs should work on these especially interacton ,like one u forgot to add was flling fuel to our truck by getting off it and filling manually and some interactions in the fuel station store too
What i hate is when you buy a truck in the online menu and spend all your time to pimp the truck and when you buy it the game says that your garage is full AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
😂
What I find annoying about the Online Dealership is now thanks to an update this earlier year you have had to have bought 5 Trucks to get access,
So while you can go to Truck Browser to try all the options available you can't go to see how many $$$$$$ you need to save for your Dream Truck 😞
@@shaneeslick the 5 truck limit to have access to the online dealer was there before that update which broke that earlier this year.
@@elisouille_buscarscamions I hadn't played ETS2 for a few years & didn't remember the 5 truck limit so just to clarify a timeline 🤔are you saying...
the 5 limit was there,
then an Update Broke it,
now it was reimplemented with the update fixing it again earlier this year
@@shaneeslick Well no, I think that the old limit they have was broken because you would buy 5 truck, sell 4 of them, and you would have access to the online dealer anyway. And now this isn't possible anymore, you need to have 5 permanent trucks in your garage to access the online dealer.
Don't quote me on this but I guess that's how it is.
@@elisouille_buscarscamions OK, when I got back into playing end last year before the update I could do it without even buying a truck at all
sorry but it’s very realistic for the France toll’s here we have a lot of tolls everywhere on the highway and sometime in the middle of the highway for like nothing
Here in Sweden we saying that if traveling through French take the train because the tolls will take all your money
@@thegotlandisfarmer8774 yeah for a north west to south on the higway it should probably cost you 130€ (same price or a little bit expensive for the train)
2 things i Loath
1. when the AI crashes into you and your the one that gets fined
2. when the speed limit changes quite a lot and there's a speed camera right behind the sign so your guaranteed to get a speeding fine
One thing is, whenever you are caught speeding or hit someone, the police should stop you and fine you after doing some pursuit. It was there in 18 wheels of steel. I used to get a higher powered truck and outran the cruisers. Had a laugh whenevr that happens. One thing i dont miss is the NPC interaction. I get enough of that IRL thank you very much.
Loved doing that, it was a rush. Used to love just toying with the Police AI and taking off ramps and quickly turning around on the freeways and snaking my way around the various exits and stuff and seeing them have a hard time tryna catch me getting stuck on a guardrail XD!
I hate there aren't any rigid trucks, multi drop work, or any contracts. Such as move stuff for this company and get paid at the end of a week, or having to move so much in a certain time etc. I also think they should rework the gearboxes on trucks. The trucks in game shift way too quickly, and dont jolt or shudder like the real life ones do
I actually set up my ETS2 base in London and drive around UK 😂😂
And it's FUN
I feel safer driving in UK since I live in HK, same driving direction.
Yeah me too as I am Australian
As a French, I really agree with you, it feels really nice to drive up there and, even though it's not fresh, it still does offer some nice sceneries.
After trying out all the trucks I have to say the Iveco Hi Way is my favorite. And I'm not using any sound mods, because the sounds do not sound so "sharp" like other truck's engines, it's comfortable for the ears, plus they are very stable at higher speeds in more narrow turns.
i wish there was more map interaction an better planning options in this game and ats as well
especcially the delviery time you have limits but its never a problem if you are 13h or a day before the time you should be to make the delivery, id like it if there was an option to turn on that you cant deliver to a companie if youre to early or at certain times for example in the middle of the night
id also like a feature where you can do multiple dropoffs with one load or even loading your trailer by yourself like a minigame playing tetris with your load
or maybe have certain goods that cannot be moved through some country because of regulations
or if you had simple police interactions like if they pull you over for different reasons
that would upgrade the games so much
I looove my Iveco Highway and Stralis (and yes this is not a joke). But to interact more with the World in ETS2 would be realy realy nice or "Season" effects so that in week maybe 40 starts to snow for 5-6 weeks and then in week 80 its start to snow again.
one thing i would love in this game is if scs took some idea from DTG (train sims) where in the newer train sim games its super interactive for the player. i.e Getting out drivers seat and walking around (this would most likely have to be limited to a certain radius like 1kmaway from the truck) ,Openeng doors/cab windiws (windows we have), Fueling up manually (get out, animation for fuel cap, fill up) more in cab buttons are pressable (this would be fore mainly M&K players for ets/ats but still works whith a wheel as its just mouse movement to press said in cab buttons) also they need to update the stanav to the ats one which is nicer and cleaner
i hate when am in convoi, it rain for me and for my friend just close to me there is a beatiful sunshine on his screen....
driving in the uk imo is my favorite part because of how many non rhd games there are, unless you want to play something like the forza horizon games (3-4) there's not many rhd based games with dedicated rhd vehicles. it just really needs a rework because atm its just stuck feeling outdated like a 2009 game
And watch dogs legion since it's base in London
@@fokuz2023 its also just a bad game in general though, average Ubisoft product

The roundabouts, especially those multi-lane ones, are giving me a headache and ended up in fear. I think the roundabout rules we have here in Australia is really good, especially for multi-lane roundabouts. You will never need to change lanes (actually you can't in most scenarios) inside the roundabout and certain lane can only exit the roundabout from certain exit(s) because we treat it more like a normal intersection with different giveway rules. For exampe, assume it's a two-lane 4-exit roundabout with all 4 connected roads also have 2 lanes in each direction, more likely the outer lane (left-most lane since we drive on the left hand side) must exits from the first (turning left) or second (going straight) exit (on the left lane of these exits). The inner lane (right lane) must exits from the second (going straight) or thrid exit (turning right) or any exits after going pass the thrid exit (on the right lane of these exits). There will always be painted arrows on the ground, sometimes also with a huge road sigh on the side, before entering the roundabout telling drivers which exits they can use. Traffic lines in the roundabout will also help drivers to find their usable exits.
Worst thing about tolls tho (well, at least for me) is that it's hard to memorize or see the transponder payment lanes, which do not require you to completely stop and wait a few seconds before starting to move. Sometimes i even crashed into the closed lane barriers because of the low visibility. It sucks
For a long time, closing takes several minutes. Maybe by syncing with the Steam cloud, maybe by a large number of mods.
Errors in voice navigation in the UK. Navigation tells me to go straight when I have to turn or recommends a turn when I have to go straight in relation to what I see in front of me. The UK needs some tweaking though.
The developers of Alskan Trucker are right. I feel in ETS2 and ATS like a truck, not a truck driver. I feel more as a truck driver in "On the Road" when I have get out to make some actions.
There is also no tachometer and real working time, i.e. 4.5 hours of driving, a break of 4.5 and sleep and again 4.5 hours ... like in others General cargo would also be welcome. I arrive, I take several loads and I have several unloadings in several cities where I can add more loads.
0:36 Don't make it look like as if you loaded or unloaded at Tramerie with your B-triple since this is impossible due to too short triger/bad position of the trigger there
I wish we could unload the trailers. Maybe start with the low loader and being able to drive of the delivered equipment, then move to empty your own trailer, like if you delivered drinks or pallets. Would be awesome.
I also wished it was a bit more companymanagment then just buy and assigning new drivers. Make contracts with larger companies, getting your own warehouse, colab trailers, and so on
I hope the new game engine will allow for fixes of some of the issues with the game(A.I. cars, pedestrians, the anti aliasing maybe proper vegitation rather than the abomination we have been having since 2012, and the thing i want to most being able to walk out of my truck open doors, sign documents like a mix between on the road and my summer car)
I don't know if this bothers anyone else but for me it's the sharp corners on highways. Like when do you have to slow down for a corner IRL? never. You are just going 90 km/h all the time
Things I hate on ETS2:
No rigid chassis
No animated turn signals
No new Iveco S-Way
No Ford trucks in game
No Tatra truck in game (in Central Europe it's very popular truck)
No Scania sound rework
No Slovakia and Czechia rework
No Switzerland rework in 1.48
No smart AI
No doubles in traffic
No oversized loads in traffic (AI has oversized load)
No cabin light
No chair movement in cabin
No exhaust smoke (they should add smoke like it is in Farming Simulator 22)
No challenging roads
No many hidden roads
No tire traces
...
and why is the right side of the toll gates always closed in every country? Like real drivers irl using that lane and staying on the left side as a trucker feels not normal 😂 Nice video btw
We should be able to interact with everything in the cab, some sort of extreme realism mode, having to pay for food snd and drink, and store it around your truck, even being able to sleep in the back, would be really realistic.
It would be nice to add more variety to deliveries.
Like making it so that you deliver cars or furniture to a fancy mansion or something.
I absolutely love delivering to shopping malls and other big yards that you have to navigate.
but malls usually have loading bay and that's it. U can't go inside anymore
ETS 2 and ATS are very good games but yes, I think like you that we need more interaction outside the truck, the possibility of getting out of the truck, hand papers, check truck oil an other mechanical thing a trucker need to control and as optional for the ones that want it for immersion, survival options like getting on the gas stop shop and buy a coffee, food, use of bathroom, etc...
I love driving in the UK, I mainly drive UK to UK and stay there, fair enough Esbjerg, close places in Spain, Roscoff (France), Brest (France) and up to Paris and Le Havre, and of course Calais, Rotterdam and Amsterdam. Apart from those international places in deliveries, I like to stay in UK. But sometimes I do go out of the UK to explore the rest of the map.
i believe UK map was just straight up ported from UK truck simulator, ets2 predecessor, or atleast most of it, so yeah its decade old map that longs for rework.
I drive in UK, because irl we use Right Hand Steer (i kinda dont want to mess up my driving intuition if i switch steering)
Gotta love merging traffic... the time they take. And the lack of no stopping zones outside a driveway
I know there's an option to disable them, but road closures/diversions are a huge pain. To be 2 hours from your destination, with 4 hours to your sleep break and 5 hours to complete the delivery, feeling like everything's under control, and suddenly your junction is closed and there's a 7-hour diversion - or worse, there are points where there's really no valid option other than to drive round the cones and try to avoid the fire engines and the air ambulance, especially at the edges of the base map if you don't have the connecting DLC. It just destroys the immersion. Anywhere where there can be a road closure should have an alternative route - slower, of course, but usable.
I'm actually fine with most of your points, except the British map which is woefully inadequate. I'll be so happy when it has scenic villages and other points of interest like France or the new Swiss update.
Oh, and Trameri. I try not to take any job delivering to them!
About tolls in France, this is actually realistic according to the scale of the map compared to IRL. We have tolls litteraly everywhere on our highways it's ridiculous
true, but keep in mind that the map in ETS2 is at a scale of 1:10. So when in reality there are toll boths, say, every 50km, in ETS2 it feels likey they come ever 5 km. You barely accelerate your truck to full speed and, lo and behold, there's the next toll both. Real life France isn't _that_ bad.
I'd agreed that UK does need a full reworks and maybe more villages instead of city for warehousing jobs. It is not always in a cities likes the other cities that offered a beautiful sight seeing likes the moors or the small villages with narrow roads ect. UK had got ton's of environment's for it too. And for Mods that down to the modder who is still in work in progress or being late. But don't forget SCS had been updating a bit quicker since 🤷♂
and UK needs more cities as well - Oxford (with M40), Leeds, Milton Keynes, Dundee, and maybe Belfast, Dublin as imo Ireland is too small to be worth a DLC
@@RooiGevaar19 Exactly! Likes other smaller cities too likes Dale Lane, South Elmsall, Doncaster, Rotherham, Sheffield too and the rest you've mentioned. Am sure Uk part can be rescale into bigger map for that reason as it is possible too when going on ferry we're reloading the game anyway
imo all ETS2 map could be rescaled to 1:10, current 1:15 makes it feel like everything is crammed by force to a tiny space... also Northampton with SIlverstone clone would be okay, as they made it with Tucson tracetrack in ATS :D@@hawky2k215
@@RooiGevaar19 Not just UK to be expanded but everywhere. If SCS increase scaled sizes there'll be more rooms to fit in more locations. Now can see why ETS3 isn't required
G'day Milan,
While I do have most of the Map Extensions I mainly Drive in the UK with some ferry Trips & then a load straight back to the UK as being Australia it feels more normal to me, yes UK REALLY needs an update, as not only does it look old but there are also things like 50 zones that have 60 signs so very annoying getting a speeding ticket because I don't use the HUD & my truck doesn't have a GPS Screen, When I need to know where I am going I pull over & stop or enter a Truck Stop to read the Street Dirctory (Open the Map) 😁.
Before I bought my Scania with 😺Tobias as my Co-Driver I didn't mind driving Ivecos, so I would buy them if the $$$$$$ is right compared to other brands.
Do you get "Pulled Over" by Police in Europe? in the UK you just hear sirens & the fine flashes in the HUD like with AI collisions, but yeah even more Interaction would be Awesome.
Another thing that annoys me you missed here, when I am driving along most of the time when AI hits me & I get a fine 🤬
Now I have tried some Mods like Cats I also Tried Bonneted Scanias as they were very popular here, while the new model works great I found the older more Square model 11(🤔from Memory) breaks the Dashboard in all trucks now, so it would be nice if it either gets a fix to make it compatible in current Version (😁🙏BIG PLEASE to the Creator) or unless I missed it had Game Version Compatability Note (😞Sad but at least a heads up).
Speaking of More interaction have you seen Truck World: Australia? so far as a teaser they have a Driving Test you can play available Free on Steam.
We can also add the ai's sudden braking. It should see the speed limit sign and slowly reduce its speed but it suddenly slows down right next to the sign, or after passing the sign. Dude, theres a truck with a huge tonnage behind you.
For me, what's missing the most are characters and animations. We need cinematics when we're being controlled, when we're taking the ferry or loading equipment. There should also be pedestrians in the cities, as the fact that cities are made up entirely of cars makes the game experience less immersive
What I like a about this game is that the dlcs aren’t too expensive and affordable because in some other games they r like super expensive to buy stuff with real money sooo
Also, a lot of things like Jake brake are completely pointless because there is no wear on the brakes.
Even if it's not fresh, I still do enjoy some of the British landscapes, especially the Humber bridge near Hull which I really enjoy, the scenery is really nice. And also the A469 across Welsh Highlands, between Swansea and Liverpool. Sadly I don't remember Scotland that much but that's definitely somewhere I enjoy going to.
But yes, it needs some refreshing, and I completely agree with you, once the rework will be out, every other part in the map would feel old.
3:02 Trust me, we have tolls everywhere, okay they're not that close from each other, but still. Tolls everywhere, to suck every ounce of money in your soul. (That's how it feels in real life)
For me, the main bottlenecks of this game are lack of realism on some points e.g : trains, level crossings, and the f**king traffic not slowing down when you overtake.
About trains : have you ever seen the TGV while cruising to Nice or whatever else city in France ? Did you notice that it's incredibly short ? I also noticed the lack of train variety on the old parts of the map, where you see BR185s hauling a freight most of the time. It has gotten better with the newly mapped parts with more variety.
Level crossings... Why does every level crossing needed to be coded as a Czech level crossing, and have that annoying Czechoslovak bell jamming ? No, stop this. Okay, this might not seem very important but I think it's still steps to improve realism and immersion in the game.
And now the traffic. Okay in some ways it is realistic, but sometimes it's completely broken, like, please, tell that lorry that I want to overtake him... Unless it's an ADR lorry, I will never overtake him, they never slow down as per the rules when you overtake...
You mean A483 as funny enough I live where the A469 runs through my town of Bargoed between Rhymney and Cardiff. If it was to be put into the game they would have to add loads of roadworks as Caerphilly Borough love roadworks and closures lol.
Well, at least the opposite side traffic halts when you're coming towards them at full speed, giving you a bit more chance to finish the overtake
Mirrors....
Years I playes ETS2/ATS, and I still can't see if my trailer is parrallel to something else ( other trailer, line, wall...)
AI traffic in general.
And some lacks. Interactivity like you said, but option to have papers too, and full other stuff that a real trucker do.
- When you take a mission, must walk to a bureau to take papers (and why not complete a form). And there, the person will say the dock where you must go. And the same for the end of mission.
- Eat, drink, take a shower. Even if there is no animation, but there is some expense to that)
- And, moreover, a REAL shop. Like in some games as Star citizen. Walking in the alleys, trying some articles buy it.
All of that in option of course. I know tome e-truckers just want to drive.
I'd love also having multiple courses. A company could need to deliver some needs to different cities. And more, hving the possibility to take several missions in the same time in the limit of the trailer. But then, every goods would have am additionnal caracteristic : dimensions.
Easier way would be just the volume. If there is still room in the trailer, you can take a mission which need less volume than the empty space still available.
Harder would be 3 dimension occupied in the trailer, with a kind of Tetris game to fit a maximum of goods XD.
And... naps. Sleeping gameplay is too rigid. It's 6.30am, in front of the truck seller. The shop opens @0800. one and a half hour to wait (approx 4min30 irl). An eternity. If you sleep, it's 9h spent so, 7.30 for nothing.
In fact time-limit in world of truck is no good. I would prefer a legal time limit gauge on one hand, and tiredness gauge on the other (so, 3 gauges, tiredness, hungry and thirst).
I am in ATS for now, and driving time limits are not so simple as in the game.
11h driving a day in 14h of spread (if you begin at 7:00, you must stop your driving day at 21:00, and you cannot drive more than 11h (day meaning a period of 24h)
A trucker can't drive more than 52h in 7 days or 60h in 8 days.
With the possibility to choose the duration of rest, the game could take those limits in account. And it can propose a car rent to explore the area XD.
They need to add a feature if you own a trailer that you can pick up more cargos (jobs) and delivery it to same company or more companies.
For example, your trailer has 10 pallets storage, you take 3 from one company and 7 from other company and you need to delivery it to 2 companies or they can do like weight wise, trailer can carry 20t cargo, you can pick up 3-4 jobs at once. For me, it would make ETS more realistic. On the road got that feature in the game and it is so awesome and intresting to play, but other things make game boring. Also pedestrians, make them more realistic like using crosswalks, running around etc.
I have traffic violations off for one particular reason : roundabouts.
I lost track on the number of times the ai decides to jam itself into my trailer resulting me getting fined for causing an accident.
It would be cool to be meet your own trucks in the traffic. And maybe be able to dispatch them. Instead of they are just going home empty or loaded. And maybe charge for your work instead of you always will hit a big profit for a long job. Would be cool to make contracts for your own work. And I fully agree with you on we need some kind of document to hand over and be able to fail a inspection. (Maybe because of your own contract) Be able to get out and couple and uncouple trailers and maybe secure the load (maybe simplify it like in fs20). Just some ideas. 😅🤷♂️
Most things I agree with however driving in France the main motorway in France (the A10) has quite a few tolls but I prefer driving on the back roads which is no where near as bad but you can't go faster than about 80kms
Because of the scale you only get 2 tolls, but yes, I would imagine a bit more tolls on the A10.
@@elisouille_buscarscamions I know you do as I have travelled it both in game and irl
I really like Trameri cause its kinda a challange to do stuff in
Same. Back in the days it used to be the only challenge
I had the roundabout AI problem and I still do sometimes, but much less. The reason they are entering the roundabout with you in it is because you're doing it wrong (and so was I).
I just finished my C category license and with trucks you're not supposed to do the roundabout on the inside, you need to go always on the outside.
Some old school truckers still do it from the inside, but that's not what is being taught nowadays.
If you're gonna exit second or third exit, signal to the inside of the roundabout but actually do it from the outside.
You're gonna see a HUGE improvement in the AI behavior.
The only thing that you need to stay aware is that they might try to get on the inside of the roundabout if you are coming on a two lane road to the roundabout.
But people in real life will do that too, so it's actually realistic.
I used to vent at the updating times but ever since i started flight sim 2020, i actually appreciate the SCS servers.
I hate the Calais port. You have to do like 3 180 degree turns where literally every other port is just a straight shot there
It's a bit strange how they haven't added the Drivers Digital Tacho Card for Driving time and have to stick to them or you get penalty from the authorities
It happens in the UK not sure about Europe
And not being able to drive trucks on Sundays in France
2:50 I live in france and there isn't any toll in my part of france wich is called alsace but everywhere else you have tolls
i absolutely hate it when i'm doing an oversized cargo delivery, and my front pilot just stops on the highway or on a roundabout for a minute or so for no reason
The pedestrian interaction could even be like, the driver asking information about where to unload or else
I had a older euro truck 2 and got a later version now windows can go up and down , better beam and overhead rovers
When you wait in line in order to turn left and the AI in front of the line waits and waits and waits and waits and ..... The video is a 10/10 !
Thank you buddy
My home garage for Euro Truck Simulator 2 is in London, UK, and I agree, I think it needs a rework, it's one of the oldest countries in the game now and I think it is time for a change. Also, SCS needs to add the rest of the UK which is Northern Ireland, because even though the country is listed as 'United Kingdom' its not actually the entire chain of the United Kingdom, it's just Great Britain, so they need to add Northern Ireland as part of the base game, and as the UK, to complete that chain of countries in the UK. Also, as well as adding Northern Ireland, they need to also add the Republic of Ireland too, to add to the base game, and that it borders Northern Ireland, and that we still don't have part of the map being black.
The un realistic truck sounds I would not know about as all I drive are Scanias with open pipes
It would be cool to see youre workers driving on the road when you meet them i never saw them
There is option to turn off sleeping. Disable the fatigue simulation
You can turn off fatigue in the options, it's the first option in gameplay / game mechanics. I hate glass trailers and roulottes... XD
Ia traffic is a pain everywhere and in many situations, for iveco I don’t hate it i love iveco the only problem is outdated, another thing not all trucks have the right trailer distance from the truck wheel cover and some are inside the trailer
1:37 you're surprised, you were driving practically in the middle of the roundabout and when you were going down you didn't even turn on the turn signal
We hate so much falling down from a convoy server all the time!!! In 1.48 a bug was introduced that kicks people from a server with more than 4 truckers.
Hello 👋
Some areas of France are unluckily full of tolls-area also in real life.
For example Monaco to LeCastellet/CircuitPaulRicard is a pain in the neck: every 5/6km on that highway is a continous stop for paying leg by leg the same highway.
Even in Italy, from where I write, we are not so smashed 😅
But SCS maybe decided to be realistic as in real life.
Cheers from Monza 👍

I hope that scs will add visible damage to the vehicle and some kind of mandatory truck maintenance such as registration, technical inspection, and so on
3:34 - because you must not exit from the middle of the roundabout, unless the lanes allow you to do so. In this example it was you that violated the law 😜 But yeah, on the older roundabouts, especially in the UK, drivers drive like this by design and cause collisions...
1:34 The UK map is so old now, it desperately needs some love just to catch up with the rest of the map in terms of realism and complexity. Hopefully it will get that love soon.
1. Slow vehicles. - mod- "AI Truck Speed"
3. Lack of challenge - change max_vehicle_count: in traffic_data.sii to a bigger number (up to 100%) More vehicles will appear everywhere, both parked and driving. Also try a mod that changes the physics like "Drifting Physics".
x. Snoozing - Tick the box "fatigue" in game options off. Snoozing will disappear.
xx.Last. CRASHES - You have a trailer or a truck (more often trailer or cargo for it) that cannot be loaded in the game world. Find which and switch it off. Also a crash usually leads to the desktop (throws you out of game but not of Windows). A crash with a blue creen means heavy system error or overloading - hence your comp is old or has suffered heavy system damages which led to being in bad shape; is on the end of its powers ...
the thing with ai drivers and roundabouts applies to tolls too
they just sometimes ignore yu exist
it has been literally impossible for me to have a longer drive without a crash vehicle fine because some ai jerk just drives into you even though you been there already and been there forever..
apparently trucks are difficult to see
I'm not going every time in UK , but if I get a delivery there I don't avoid it. Obviously it would be nice if they would rework it , as they've never done it with that country. Meanwhile Germany is at 3rd rework...
With the AI in roundabouts they've changed something , I remember that in older versions there was same problem , then they've fixed it , and than it reappeared worst than ever after 1.40 or something like that. It's very annoying , especially in Spain where are a lot of roundabouts , or in Bulgary where cars from second lane are going right at the first exist. 🤯
The france tolls is acurate to real life tho, I remember first time driving there and I got so fed up by it
I don't remember the last time I went to UK 🤦♂️
I would also the feature where you can open your doors and look into your truck from outside
I hate it where you merge onto the highway, you cant tell if the driver is giving way to you, they dont even change into the other lane, yet I see other AI stop at those and it's so confusing if you have to wait for not
as someone who's been playing both ets 2 and ats, the tolls in europe are the worst. you finally reach 80 km/h and there's another in the distance.
Yes, I don't like the tolls in ETS2 either. Every few miles there's another toll. Maybe it's really like that in Europe, but in the US, the toll booths are only on the entrance and exit ramps when you enter and exit the expressway. Never on the expressway, itself (there are a few exceptions to this, but not many) .
Ps Milan,
Just wondering if a video about "How to load older Verions" would be worth it? or even just included in a video with multiple tips that are similar.
