@@milksomecows well the real explanantion is because shows like these use boom mics (those big fluffy microphones that someone holds above the set to capture sound). if they wore masks the mic wouldn't be able to hear the actors, and re-dubbing the entire episode in post would have been too long and too expensive

Same. I remember watching a news Report of someone having that condition and it was my second thought after I was sure she didn't get the alcohol in her blood through other means (e.g. using a tampon with alcohol)
@@MizMima yes, very badly in fact. The alcohol goes unfiltered through the moucus membranes (hope that's the correct term in english) into your bloodstream. It's worse than through the digestive system because the alcohol goes in as it is and it's extremely hard to dose. My dad is a paramedic, a few years back he had many cases of young adults doing that, getting completely wasted and nobody even knew how they got so drunk because they didn't smell of alcohol. Also fun fact, it's not just for the ladies, gentlemen can take it in the back but again, highly dangerous, no matter where you put it
This triggered me a bit when she was having to be restrained. On New Years Eve this year I was admitted into hospital with sepsis. It did something to my brain and I went off the freaking RAILS and had to be restrained just like this.

well 1) this was after tey knew her blood alcohol. pretty sure you can't legally let a drunk person go, no matter how adamant they are. 2) it wasn't just and "i don't agree", she tried to physically pull out the IVs from her arm, which only a trained nurse or doctor can do, otherwise it can cause major bleeding. when the doctors told her to stop she attacked them. once a patient physically attacks a doctor it's basically assumed they are not of sound mind and at that point it's up to the doctors to decide what's best for their health in other words, if she had just kept saying "no" the doctors would have talked to her or her husband and if she persisted, would have let her go (probably on the condition the husband would pick her up). but the moment she touched the tubes and the staff, it was no longer up to her

Even someone who is drunk has the right to say no and here they dont give her that right they just go “sedate” and make so many assumptions about her, rather than investigating where the real problem is. Prob best if they have been picked up by someone who is not drunk but you can let them go if theres nothing else “wrong” and theyre cape able of getting home etc by themselves (or with a loved one) such as this woman’s husband. 2) see above. because she wasn't reasonable and physical safety of the patients and staff comes first in these cases. they were giving her harmless liquds through the IV, but she freaked out and tried to pull them out, which could cause major bleeding (unsafe for patient). when the 1 doctor and 1 nurse tried to stop her she physically fought back (unsafe for the staff and patient). at that point the ONLY option is sedation, but you can't inject sedative into someone who's thrashing and kicking, so she needed to be restrained long enough for them to administer the drug

All it would take is a blood test. My mother and brother both have celiac disease and their bloodwork was the reason they got tested. This might be a representation of a very rare case but I’ve never heard of a celiac patient getting drunk from their body trying to process the gluten and mis managing it. I just don’t find this to be a real representation of a disease that does have horrible consequences when left untreated
You most likely haven't heard of a Celiac patient getting drunk from their gluten processing mismanagement because Celiac Disease and Auto-Brewery Syndrome (ABS) are two different diagnoses/diseases. They usually have different symptoms, causes and treatments. While ABS might be more rarely seen or heard about for some, it still exists as its own separate health condition. I feel for your family celiacs though, it is no fun out here for those of us gluten-less 😊😅

she will not get drunk from a little sugar, as it's not a build alcohol from the vacuum machine. So as long as she keeps her diet she will be fine.

All it would take is a blood test. My mother and brother both have celiac disease and their bloodwork was the reason they got tested. This might be a representation of a very rare case but I’ve never heard of a celiac patient getting drunk from their body trying to process the gluten and mis managing it. I just don’t find this to be a real representation of a disease that does have horrible consequences when left untreated
You most likely haven't heard of a Celiac patient getting drunk from their gluten processing mismanagement because Celiac Disease and Auto-Brewery Syndrome (ABS) are two different diagnoses/diseases. They usually have different symptoms, causes and treatments. While ABS might be more rarely seen or heard about for some, it still exists as its own separate health condition. I feel for your family celiacs though, it is no fun out here for those of us gluten-less 😊😅
