- Shiro’s Ez8 is finally here! After a long delay from November 2022, I have the Ez8 in my hands and it’s fantastic! It comes with some great accessories and gimmicks and is a far better representation of Ez8 than the awful Gundam Universe version.
Also, now I can finally use those arm parts from Option Set 03!

Great review!! Honestly was never a huge fan of the Ez-8’s design especially over the Ground Gundam’s but this figure looks really good. Might have to pick one up
I like it’s uniqueness. The red eyes and the heavy armor mixed with the more tank-like coloring is such a good mix

I haven’t yet because I don’t have all the Mobile Suit Gundam figures yet and 0080 and 0083 aren’t quite done. Nor is 08th MS Team. But that’s a good idea
I like this design since it came off as intended as a slapped-together-in-the-field upgrade. RD continues to give seemingly bulky suits tons of articulation
The parachute accessoy is truly hilarious - how would one ever display this? It seems like one would need to concoct a tower of flights stands with a counterweight to be able to suspend the thing with any stability

You’re supposed to have a figure on a low stand and have this on a high stand behind it. I personally won’t be displaying it like that but I guess it’s cool that it can do it

Got the first release Ez8 and gonna keep it, was a abandoned freebie thrown in with some kits I bought of someone(HGUC GM Spartan and MG Astrea Type-F); because distributor(s) in Singapore weren't working gonna bother with Bandai's replacement program apparently. Had spent about half a year talking up the ANIME RD line to the guy, give mostly ABS-constructed figures a shot; and this happens. Ugh.
Ended up shaving the plastic down for the symmetry, while panel-lining it; when I ended up liking the slightly better articulation on the 'bad' ankle.
A shame it happened, but at least Bandai tried to fix the issue where they could. That said, bit disappointing Bandai didn't put markings on the box to indicate the fixed figures; if there's still affected product floating around in the retail wild that wasn't sent back to Bandai...
Yeah anyone outside the US that wants their figure fixed is kinda out of luck from what I understand. But you’re right; at least Bandai tried to fix the issue this time around
Bandai did put some round shaped transparent seal for the reissue on the right side of the box. It ovelaps with the normal seal tape, so need to observe carefully to notice it. I got 2 box & both have the sticker & correct leg qc.
My item is from Bandai asia.
I was able to get the version with the Production error for half the price of a new corrected version today. Dont think Ill mind as long as it does not hinder the articulation of the ankles.

I got both the 08th ground and ez8. My only issue is with the heads, cant really turn it or tilt it too far with out it popping off. I dont have that issue with other RS Gundams that i have

Honestly I wish all RD figures went the same way with the shoulder design as the EZ8, the collapsing torso just doesn't provide nearly as much range. Also for something called a parachute pack it never does come with the actual parachutes.
I can’t imagine a way to design the parachute for the figure that wouldn’t be an absolute mess or a massive static-posed blob
Kinda wana get myself one to finish like the whole 08th MS collection, also our of curiosity did u get yourself the GM sniper?

An all white gundam with one single long antenna? I think the Unicorn gundam is a direct descent of the EZ8

The knee armor seems to be poseable via hinge movement or I am seeing things..
It looks like it is but it just slides with the knee when the leg is bent. I’ll confirm tomorrow but I do see where it looks like there’s a hinge but I don’t believe that to be the case.
Question: If you bought this from a retailer now would you have to be lucky to get a fixed copy or did Bandai request a recall of all the messed up stock?
As far as I know, it was an optional fix for customers so there may very well still be lots of error sets floating around
@@UCRDReviews how exactly would that work? Would they include the fixed parts or would you need to contact Bandai for them? If it’s the latter I would think that only would be applicable if you bought it in or from japan.
Sidenote: I have always watched your videos when they come out, it’s only on a rewatch that I thought to ask the question.
@@XPproductions365 there’s usually a window of time for consumers in Japan to request the new part. After that period of time, you’re just screwed
Got mine from Anime Export. They managed to ship them all out before the recall. Bandai said that any Japanese retailer could participate in parts exchange. So I asked them multiple times if they were participating. They refused to reply to me. So lame.
Yeah NNG sent a message telling everyone that if they wanted the new version, to just email back so I did
That’s interesting. I also ordered my NNG but they didn’t give me a choice, just that the figure was recalled and they’d update me when it would ship…many months later.
@@barkingapollo AE is always a risk. They tend to have great prices but horrible customer support. As long as everything arrives perfectly, it’s fine. Otherwise they often don’t even respond to you.
I’ve got the first batch so probability the ones with the issue… but I can’t really tell.
Gm sniper looks great.. but the rifle annoys me to no end
Same with my Ez8, you would never notice unless you were looking for it. I kept it for collectors purpose.
It is an almost unnoticeable issue honestly
How is it compared to the HGUC?
I don’t own the HGUC so hopefully someone else can chime in to answer that
Ground Gundam > EZ8 but I still got it because duh. My box came open which is weird but figure seems fine. No complaints about this one, but it’s honestly probably the most meh of the 08th MS Team for me. Oh but that GM Sniper, oh damn is it a good one.
My body is now ready for Thunderbolt RD.
I’ve always been a sucker for the design. It’s such a unique Gundam-type
