    Rose 100% deserves a spot in the Hall. Very few players can suffer as much as he did and still carve out a long and impactful career.

      He was the chosen one. Not only from the city, but his last name is the same color as the jerseys. It was meant to be.
      And then Tibs came into town ... I'll never forgive him

      We never saw his prime

    • @pharkasj
      @pharkasj 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Something what? He was an average or worse defender. He had zero seasons with 30+ PPG or 8+ APG. Yes, he was a very very good offensive player, with charisma and flashy moves, but far away from the "biggest what if" category. There are players with better career stats than his prime averages.

    • @ianweir3608
      @ianweir3608 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +5

      @pharkasj his "prime" was his third season. That's like calling a 20 year old a failure because they never earned more than 80k

    This is all Tom Thibodeau's fault. Dude keep his star player playing on a game that they are sure winner. Well, we can see already that Rose will eventually get injured some point in time, but because of that game, he had his injury earlier than expected. And until now, Tom keeps doing this with his rooster.

    D Rose's journey always tugged at my heart, but life's lessons helped me see beyond the struggles
    "From the outside, life may seem unfair, but look closer: Derrick Rose has achieved greatness. Growing up in a challenging environment, where surviving past 20s is the initial goal. Rose exceeded everything:
    - He made it to the NBA.
    - He earned MVP honors.
    - He became a millionaire.
    - He lifted his family out of poverty.
    Most impressively, Rose persevered, adapting to evolving roles throughout his career. His resilience ensures he'll forever be loved and appreciated."

    My favourite player of all time. My childhood idol. He made me fall in love with basketball in his early years, and again in his later years.
    You guys should check out his book if you haven't, he has a beautiful mindset and outlook that he himself says he wouldn't have if it weren't for the injuries and what they taught him. While they were the worst thing possible they were also the best in a way.
    (Also check out his episode on Matt Hoffas podcast it's great)
    In his own words those struggles he had and the battle to persevere through them are what freed his mind and made him the man he is today.
    While I'm sad that I'll never see Drose on the court again I'm glad that in a way his retirement fully sets him on his bigger mission of life in fulfilling the man that he has been becoming over the years.
