The other thing that always shows if people ever watched mj or not is how they assess his defence. People see the height differential and decide that Pip must have guarded the bigger wings but it was the opposite. Jordan was the far more agressive and physically strong player. Pippen got physically abused by stronger scoring wings, he was much better on smaller ball handling guards. Mj often had to switch onto the scoring sf's to shut them down whilst Pippen was getting worked. Also in the playoffs, for their careers, Jordan guarded the better wing scorer in more games and for more time than Pippen. @@Nezie22 Do you really think 2024 NBA has lower level than 90s NBA? In 2024 players are more athletic in general and still stronger. The fact modern judges follow the rules more strictly doesn't make modern players softer. The pace of the game from 90s isn't even close to 2024 G League's. MJ was weak shooter from 3pt. He only had good % from 3pt when they had much shorter 3pt line. Look how many 3pt are made in modern NBA per game by each team, especially by recent champions Boston. Not only pace and 3pt shooting level is much higher now. Average 2024 NBA team would be a champion team in 90s. because he wanted to be acknowledged as a superstar in his own right and being cast as the "sidekick" prevents that. plus they re-exposed his failings as a player and teammate with the migraine, sitdown, desire to be traded, his rage at krause and then lastly his vengeful delay of surgery. But also the whole episode with his ex-wife was emerging at that point and his son RIP. He was going through a lot emotionally and even ripped other people like Phil, Paxson and Kukoc.... Something is obviously wrong with him, maybe some day he will recover.
He called Scottie "selfish" - that's the nail in the coffin. Scottie like most Gen-Xers has fragile ego despite the cool and calm demeanor, and he still keep the grudge with Jerry Krause - just as Bulls fans are still hating on Krause - even in his death, rather unfairly. To be fair, Scottie was pressured and agreed to that underpaid contract by himself, which Last Dance discussed in pretty great detail, why Scottie, arguably the 2nd best player in the NBA, were among the worst-paid player in the NBA. But Jordan has to put salt on his wound by calling his act of revenge "selfish" - maybe true, Pippen did enjoy and carry around his 6 finals, 6 rings record, which he almost didn't get for his vengeful act.
Scottie is just maintaining kayfabe The stats do say that Scottie Pippen won 6 titles and had greater playoff success without Michael than Michael had without Scottie (Not saying Scottie Pippen was the best player for the Bulls LOL)
Scottie does not like to look at reality, he was often a pain in the ass on the Bulls...the bad contract he signed, migraines, 1.6 seconds, back problems, no tippin Pippen... Scottie was a great player but as great as Scottie was he was not Michael Jordan...Jordan was light years better on the offensive side of the ball and in mental toughness.
9:15 Jordan CREATED opportunities for his teammates through his own movement (as opposed to relying on everyone else moving around him), threat to score, and general creativity. He didn't just throw it to dudes who were open --- that's a silly assertion, one that's actually much more true of Luka (who, to me, isn't in the class of passer of Magic, Bird, Jokic, or, yes, MJ) than it is Jordan. Severely underrated as a passer and playmaker, that man is.
It was a lower scoring league in the 90s (esp. the playoffs) and Jordan was putting up 40-50 points; sometimes over half his team's points. More importantly, they were winning.
One day the Year will be 2050 and they will still will Be Comparing the Best Player in That Time to Jordan 🐐 That's how You know who The Goat is, 6-0 and 2 3Peats in a span of 10 Years is gonna be real tough for anybody to Beat
He is the greatest of all time: 6-0, 5 MVPs, 6 Finals MVPs, and the 1996 Bulls are the greatest team of all time with 72 wins and the championship, number one offense and defense, 3 players on the First Team All-Defense. I laugh when people mention other team or player 😂🐐
I believe Jordan is far and away the GOAT, but I'm not going to say he will always be. In fact, Wemby and Joker have legitimate shots. Wemby needs to keep developing. but Joker just needs to keep doing what he's doing for another 10 years give or take. If Dude averages a 30 pt triple double for his career, and he plays long enough, how do you not make him the GOAT?
Don’t forget the game was a lot slower back then. Yeah the rules changed for offense as time went on, making defense harder and loosening the carry rules and adding the zero step, but defense is also harder now bc of how fast players have gotten. And shooting opens up the floor, have to guard all the way up or you risk a made 3 since everyone can shoot now.
Fr many like to draw straws and look at MJ's 3pnt stats and claim he isn't as great as he's proclaimed to be when many don't realize the dif era of basketball that was being played..if it came down to MJ having to work on a 3pnt shot to have it in his bag and play in a 3pnt era like today's there's no doubt he would be one of the GREATS..at the low clip he shot them back then he still was an above avg 3pnt shooter at 40+% fg%
@brody_gains I swear, there have been 2 videos of the GOAT debate that both had VERY, thoroughly studied evidence that said MJ is the GOAT. LeBron is statically better. But when it comes down to everything else, MJ is WAY better than LeBron.
i mean lebron is statistically better because of longevity, not necessarily in terms of averages and winning. jordan had the better prime and won more. imo thats better, but some people prefer longevity over a better prime, which in that case they probably prefer lebron as the goat.
I thought this was an old video until I saw it was uploaded just 4 hours ago, with 50+ thousands of views. That speaks volume. Even if MJ's legacy was almost 3 decades ago, up to this date, people are still talking about the GOAT. To me MJ is the equivalent of Mohammad Ali in Boxing, Valentino Rossi in MotoGP, and Usain Bolt in Running. He's purely amongst the undisputed timeless Faces of their own Sports, no doubt. 🐐☝️
I love the Jordan = Ali take. My thoughts exactly. The photos they took together goes HARD. I'd even go as far as to say Michael Jordan for NBA is equivalent to Michael Jackson for Music.
Michael Jordan is my NBA FAVORITE PLAYER EVER OF ALL TIME!! He’s my NBA LEGEND, ICON IDOL AND MY GREATEST PLAYER EVER OF ALL TIME in NBA HISTORY!!!! ❤😊❤😊❤
i was blessed to have watched their 2nd three-peat run and MJ in his prime. MJ and the bulls almost always dominated the sports section back in the day. i remember a sports page headlined "72-10". if you inspired a lot of great players to hoop (and dominate games) and even spawned a 'clone' (kobe), on top of all the awards, accolades and acclamation, then you are the GOAT imho.
With all due respect to LeBron, and eventhough I would certainly entertain the idea that people are now calling him the GOAT in these days, it would never make me change my mind that MJ is still the NBA GOAT.
I love the hang time point at 5:20. Go look at “The Shot.” Craig Ehlo jumped at the same time and was on the ground before Mike even released the shot 😂
His competitiveness and attitude were jump boosters for his talent that took him to stratosphere! Many people have one or two of those qualities , it’s rare to have all 3
@@MarvelMadness2003 Without Pippen he would have molded someone else to be a worthy sidekick seeing as how insanely competitive he was. The Bulls management especially in the 90s was great at finding complimentary players to surround MJ with so I'm sure they could have picked a good replacement.

He was going through a lot emotionally and even ripped other people like Phil, Paxson and Kukoc....
Something is obviously wrong with him, maybe some day he will recover.
Scottie has always been miserable. Seriously, I don't think I've ever seen a pro athlete who is more uncomfortable in his own skin.
Scottie is just maintaining kayfabe
The stats do say that Scottie Pippen won 6 titles and had greater playoff success without Michael than Michael had without Scottie
(Not saying Scottie Pippen was the best player for the Bulls LOL)
Severely underrated as a passer and playmaker, that man is.
im really happy you guys made this video
"Okay, fine. It became personal with me.”-Michael Jordan, The Last Dance, 2020
It was a lower scoring league in the 90s (esp. the playoffs) and Jordan was putting up 40-50 points; sometimes over half his team's points. More importantly, they were winning.

The GOAT 😎😎
I mean yea…………. After LeBron
The goat of basketball and Space Jam
One day the Year will be 2050 and they will still will Be Comparing the Best Player in That Time to Jordan 🐐 That's how You know who The Goat is, 6-0 and 2 3Peats in a span of 10 Years is gonna be real tough for anybody to Beat
Span of 8 years
If he hadn't retired for a year, I'm sure we'd be talking about a 7 championship run instead of two 3-peats.
Probably the best Jordan primer on TH-cam. Great video.
For the younger generation that never some him play live on tv , trust me when I say he’s better than any hype you’ve ever heard or seen bout him
So true
Seriously? Only NOW the MJ video ?
About time 😂
He is the greatest of all time: 6-0, 5 MVPs, 6 Finals MVPs, and the 1996 Bulls are the greatest team of all time with 72 wins and the championship, number one offense and defense, 3 players on the First Team All-Defense. I laugh when people mention other team or player 😂🐐
Amazing video summering the GOAT
No question Jordan is the GOAT
1:51 The answer to such a ridiculous question is obviously YES!!!
facts
Nah Lebron is the GOAT 40 years old abd still playing elite basketball
I know people don't like melodramatic talk, but MJ was the best there was and the best there ever will be.
Jordan also played in an era where defense was actually a thing.
In an era with rough players like Hakeem, Barkley, and Bill Laimbeer who weren't afraid to hurt you in the paint.
Yea, the era were double teaming was banned and nobody guarded anyone outside of 15 feet
@@mosstwig3591 stg Mfs dont realize if you went to the wing iso, no one could help
@brandoward8860 you ignorant. Double teaming the ball handler is allowed under the illegal defense rules. That's just a dumb thing to say.
This is the best breakdown of MJ's career I've seen. It belongs in a time capsule for the generations beyond.
Michael Jordan was as good at his job, playing basketball, as anyone has ever been at their job, ever. Best description I’ve ever heard
THAT'S WHY HE'S THE GOAT!!
THE GOAT!
Idk how ppl see LeBron as the G.O.A.T the longevity is cool and all but it doesn’t really move anything for me
I like how lebron took down super teams. John Stockton was cool and all but lebron faced multiple big 4’s and multiple big 3’s. Jordan faced zero

I love how Jordan answers that with such a like, "is that even a question?" - type attitude
He was something that will never be repeated again ever. He was the greatest ever. When we where young we wanted to be just like him.
Undisputed GOAT MJ.
Michael Jordan best there was, best there is and there ever will be
besides legoat
@brody_gains I swear, there have been 2 videos of the GOAT debate that both had VERY, thoroughly studied evidence that said MJ is the GOAT. LeBron is statically better. But when it comes down to everything else, MJ is WAY better than LeBron.
@@OfficialLGNDD im a stats person, numbers dont lie bro
@brody_gains THE numbers say Michael Jordan is The GOAT, it's over its all over anything else people are just dreaming.
i mean lebron is statistically better because of longevity, not necessarily in terms of averages and winning. jordan had the better prime and won more. imo thats better, but some people prefer longevity over a better prime, which in that case they probably prefer lebron as the goat.
@@noyce. That's not a stretch indeed, MJ in NBA = MJ in Music!
That is probably the best argument (confimation) that I have heard. Great video! Jordans the GOAT
You finally did it. The video
Reallly goood 🐐
Achieved more in fewer seasons. The most competitive player ever. Simply, the GOAT.
With all due respect to LeBron, and eventhough I would certainly entertain the idea that people are now calling him the GOAT in these days, it would never make me change my mind that MJ is still the NBA GOAT.
0:40 Jordan was betting on himself I bet😂
He’d pay himself if he won🤣
