Burton On Trent is a must visit place if you love beer. There are lots of great boozers here. My favourite beer i had was Gates Burton Ale...... amazing.
Used to be half a dozen places to "boogie" your socks off until 3am, but all disappeared as "aspirational life-stylers" moved in and all the trade went to Derby an Birmingham. Clubbing became expensive and then just died a pitiful death. Maybe all those clubbers just got old and had families? Maybe the next gen just didn't think it was cool to have the same fun your parents were having? Within 5 years, all but one was left (Zinc) and it only keeps in business (although it's been shut down and changed hands SO MANY TIMES!) because it's the ONLY PLACE! (and I've rarely been inside such a charmless flea-pit of a place!) Things MIGHT change, and someone MIGHT put a significant amount of money into creating something special, ....ONE DAY, .... but ATM, Burton has gone VERY MIDDLE-AGED! If you had arrived during the daytime, you'd also notice how the Market has died/not been invested in, how the main shopping areas and cafes ALL CLOSE BY 4pm! Also, Tesco used to be a 24/7 store, but now EVERYTHING is closed by 10pm! The local Borough Council have KILLED THE TOWN CENTRE! It's a CRYING SHAME, but the "Thatcher Generation" have finally rinsed every last scrap of HOPE from the inhabitants! ALSO, ...8500 PEOPLE ARE SEEKING HOMES IN THE TOWN, and 6500 of them are classified as HOMELESS! .....2500+ in urgent need! MAYBE this is why there is no money to invest in new businesses or venues, and MAYBE this is why the urge to dance has disappeared?
It’s a giant Malt shovel, for all the maltings that used to be in Burton.
That actually makes perfect sense! Thank you
Keep the videos coming you two loving them
Once upon a time, I used to live in Burton. 3 and a half years with no time off for good behaviour.
I won't be back.
Great work

I'll have to try that one 🍺
I’d go to lifestyle bar over zinc if you visit
In the 80s yes.
It’s lovely in the lifestyle bar.
I can’t believe you never tried The Dog. Opposite the college. One of three best pubs in Burton
We did it on a previous visit to Burton mate
No discotheques
