Burton was once known as a market town and it had a flourishing market. Sadly rental costs have driven the traders away and there is now what can only be called an apology for a market. I enjoyed your video, thank you.

Resident here.
Once was thriving from what I remember but because of all sorts of things it's driven all that away.
Still a good place but I personally wouldn't live here anymore.

I live in a neighbouring town called Swadlincote. Unfortunately, it used to be a great place to live/work but these days it's declining. I went to college there and worked there too, but sadly I wouldn't live there.

Burton is a sad example of how dead the highstreet is now. All you see are places to bet and get high interest loans

EXPLORING? You went to the shopping centre which is probably the only part worth going to. The rest of it unfortunately is a shite hole and I live there. The outlying areas are being built on as fast as possible which is destroying the local environment and the surrounding countryside. Council must be making BILLIONS in extra council tax but they cant do a simple thing like fill in potholes. It took 3 trucks with workmen 3 days to fill in 10 potholes last week on my road and we had to wake the one up who brings the road closed signs as he was asleep in his wagon. Well I suppose thats progress? At least he wasnt watching another workman digging or filling in a hole?

I was cycling on Monday down a rural lane near edingale and there were 4 men filling in potholes. 1 to pour the tar, 1 to level it in the pot hole, and 2 to stand and watch. Mind you they had finished by Wednesday to my surprise.
