Emma! This is fantastic! You MUST react to 'In Maidjan' - specifically from the 'LIFA' performance by Heilung! Maria Franz really shows some amazing vocal abilities. Thank you!
Once you’re fully immersed in there music and vocal styles you will be able to hear all of there voices. It’s incredible how each of them can sing at the same time in different pitch from high to low.
Heilung means Healing. I have been listening to this amazing track and watching the concert for the last 5-6 years. It has truly helped me through some dark times
Last week I went to see Eivør perform, though she was a support act for Heilung who I didn't know much about. Eivør was great but Heilung blew me away. It is easily the greatest concert experience I have had. No recording of them I have found since (though still great) comes close to the immersive soundscape they produce live. If you get the chance then see them.
Truly! I just saw them in Australia and whilst I did film a little, the experience was beyond capturing - you had to *be* there, feel the beating of the drums, the chanting of artists. What an incredible experience!
Heilung are incredible. I saw them live in England last year and seeing them twice in New Zealand next week. Another brilliant artist ‘Eivor’ is opening for them, Eivors voice is incredible. But yeah Heilung live is such an experience, you feel the drums vibrating your very essence. 😂
Heilung is a Nordic ritual folk band with members from Denmark, Germany and Norway. According to their own statements, their music is based on original artifacts and traditional texts from the Iron Age and the Viking Age. They describe their music as “amplified history from early medieval northern Europe”
What a wonderful reaction! And you have react to "In Maidjan" live. Maria Franz's voice range really comes into its own there. In my opinion, a must for every passionate singer ;)
Heilung are not a traditional band or musical artist, they're a collective of story tellers sharing the history of their Viking past! I just saw the here in Australia and it was an incredible experience! Go see them live when you can!! I can't wait to see what they next after their 2025 hiatus! 🖤
What I love about this genre is the connection with our past and how different the various bands are. "Heilung" doesn't sound "Wardruna" (the granddaddy of pagan folk bands) which doesn't sound like "Faun" which doesn't sound like "Trobar de Morte" or "Grai" or Eivor or "Otyken". Each draws from their own FOLK roots. It's a hell of a lot of fun.
In majan live from the same concert is way better if you are interested in the vocals which are amazing in it. Maria Franz the female singer is amazing in it and you can hear throat singing. Another good song is Anoana live in London.
Seeing Heilung live is absolutely an absolutely incredible experience. Just saw them peform in Perth australia. Amazing. BTW maria is tapping human bones
We bought our Stockholm tickets 2 months ago for The Hovet ritual next year. Just saw Eivor in Goteberg a couple weeks ago then they announced that she is opening the show in Stockholm… I’m overjoyed
Just subscribed. Always been an avid concert attendee. Just turned 80 today and this band is in the top three of the most entertaining I've ever seen in my life. Try "Anoana". You should watch both the MV and live performance. MV for context and live for the impressive performance. Also "In Maidjan" for amazing vocals by Maria.
Wow, another Barnstormer from Emma, thanks for that you BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL LADY; The Song itself was engrossing/magical and enchanting, a mix of Nordic/Viking sounds, Bones being played, certainly different; Very Soulful and Mesmorising; Emma delivered an Enchanting/Soulful/Adroit and Elegant reaction done with a real sense Style/Panache/Grace and Sincerity, whilst looking so stunningly Beautiful; I loved the impromptu Singing lesson, millions are now trying this, as Emma's canny takes on how the Song was being built was charmingly illustrated; 😍😘😉🤪🙏👏🙌👍🙏💃💃🎶🎵🎶🎧🎙🍁🍁🦅💃. I don't know much about this Band, but if it helps Emma the Song '' ANOANA'' gets good revues;
don't miss their 'in maidjan' from the very same concert (their first concert, btw.). it showcases the singing quality of maria franz, the lead female singer. thanks for reacting to heilung. and don't forget to check out some of auroras new stuff.
There're actually two full "LIFA" concerts (or rituals as they call them) on the Heilung channel. The older one (and probably the one you refer to) is simply called "Heilung | LIFA - Full Show" and a more recent one called "Heilung | LIFA Iotungard". Both are great and probably too long for a reaction, but definitely worth watching on your own time. 😉
Heilung don´t play concerts... they hold rituals. I´ve "attended" a couple of them over the last years: an experience every time. If you ever have the opportunity: Go! Live this hits differently. And never forget to "Remember, we are all brothers. All people, beasts, tree and stone and wind, we all descend from the one great being that was always there, before people lived and named it, before the first seed sprouted."
I recommend checking out Anoana from them, thats one of my songs i put on when i want to ground and chill. Its utterly beautiful, both the music video and the live preformance
How would you like to hear a Mongolian metal band use throat singing? Check out The Hu - Wolf Totem OR how about an Indian metal band that sings in both English and Hindi? Check out Bloodywood - Aaj(today)
Killer group and song. Great reaction. Is very primal and ancient, that most ancient minded groups would relate with. Just a little. No matter where they come from. Pure ancient humanity.
If you never went to a ritual with Heilung, now is the time. They are taking a break to recharge their energy. The last ritual will be on the 17th of August in a secret location.
Good afternoon ma'am. I hope you're well! Would you please consider reacting to Billy strings? Songs.... Turmoil and tin foil live at the roots. Dust in a baggie Cocaine blues It's something different that I haven't seen on your channel. Thank you for even considering it. 😁😄😁❤️
Very primitive to say the least. But I like the homemade instruments for percussion. I mean goodness tribesmen. But very different and interesting at the same time. I believe it was very interesting and enjoyable.
Hello Emma, nice reaction / analysis / practice tips! For a fabulous display of Marias sound shaping abilities, check out "in Maidjan" from the same concert (LIFA / Castlefest) (as others mentioned already). For more (stunning, to me) harmonics of them together (starting with the duet partner of Maria from this track) check out "Hamrer Hippyer" from the same concert. The first part of this track might be a bit tedious / repitive, but it is well worth making it to the 5 minute mark. As it is the last piece of this concert, maybe watch another piece beforehand to get into the mood...
I would also be interested to know what your formal training in music is. You seem to be knowledgeable in Speech, Assistive Devices, Auditory training, Lip Reading.
You can find a translation of the ancient lyrics by searching "HEILUNG - Krigsgaldr (lyrics translation and explanation)" on TH-cam, a video uploaded by @carapateuse. It is with description from where they took this ancient text (actually it is a viking / norwayan saga written on very old stones, like 650-700 AD old)
If you think that this is cool, you need to watch "Alfadhirhaiti" from the same show. It's a ritualistic invocation to Odin, and it's pure cacophony and a total masterpiece!
I hope you have a nice evening - Hello Emma - the group informs us that the language used - in addition to English - is a variation of Old Norwegian. I like this rhythmic, shamanic, driving music. I would like to make a recommendation: PLEASE listen to another group - this is a Siberian group that consists almost entirely of beautiful young women. The group is called "OTYKEN" - one of my favorite songs is "LEGEND" th-cam.com/video/tXLoP9iSU5Y/w-d-xo.html Have fun with this music...!
Hi Emma, in Hamrer Hippiyer you can hear Kai’s real voice in short sequences… (th-cam.com/video/hNu6FmaUIB0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=kqhvzgM5xv7PyVsV) - this piece is always the end of their ritual and mind blowing…
Paused on the drop. And "can't hear clearly his voice" while wearing only one headphone cup. Why are people who claim to know music and singing the most difficult to watch on reactions?
The official video Heilung "Anoana" is a mesmerizing celebration of life!
Yes! It's amazing!
Anoana live is even better for me.
tbf, i would start with "Norupo" and then go over to "Anoana".
@@cyclonemouse Life is the best :)
Anoana live is far over the already great official video
Emma! This is fantastic! You MUST react to 'In Maidjan' - specifically from the 'LIFA' performance by Heilung! Maria Franz really shows some amazing vocal abilities. Thank you!
Yes, 'In Maidjan' is finest vocal stuff.
I second this.
Agreed.
Once you’re fully immersed in there music and vocal styles you will be able to hear all of there voices. It’s incredible how each of them can sing at the same time in different pitch from high to low.
Heilung means Healing. I have been listening to this amazing track and watching the concert for the last 5-6 years. It has truly helped me through some dark times
ich brauche auch heilung....
First time playing together for a live crowd is pretty impressive
And the first time Kai had ever sang in a band in public

welcome to the rabbit hole 😁
Its a nice mixture of our old pagan folk music and the more modern black metal! Is still a great tribute to the north!
HEILUNG and FAUN, my absolute favorites in this field!
They're so amazing live. It's transformative.
What a wonderful reaction! And you have react to "In Maidjan" live. Maria Franz's voice range really comes into its own there. In my opinion, a must for every passionate singer ;)
As well as it is a better display of true throat singing,,,,but agree, Maria's vocal part is amazing as well as her manipulation of various sounds
They've got such good ones, One of my favorites is Asja it's intense!
Heilung are not a traditional band or musical artist, they're a collective of story tellers sharing the history of their Viking past! I just saw the here in Australia and it was an incredible experience! Go see them live when you can!! I can't wait to see what they next after their 2025 hiatus! 🖤
Greetings from Germany ♥
Heilung is amazing! if you like this you should try more of their songs like: Anoana, Norupo, In maidjan and more!
In Majdan, Anoana, great volcals to be experienced.
nice you open a new door ,next step from this band Anoana and than take a look to other Band Named Wardruna
Maria Franz also sings in a band Euzen. She is cool!
Worth the deep dive. There's nothing like this!

What a fascinating and mezmerizing sound, and one that I have never heard before. I appreciate your reaction and the mini vocal lesson too!
My pleasure!
In a similar line as Heilung but more modern: *Eihwar*. You'll love it.
Eihwar is nothing like Heilung.
Anoana live really shows off Maria's vocal range
very Viking song it is what it reminds me of

Maria is a vocal goddess,
Emma, just watch the whole "LIFA" concert from start to finish. It is actually the first show they ever did and it is just phenomenal.

Maria is playing a set of human forearm bones in this one. you can't say, that they are not committed to the bit ;)
Just know Heilung does not have fans, they have brothers and sisters. Welcome to the family 🤗🤗

Actually the meaning of "Krigsgaldr" is "war magic".
So authentically different and amazingly primal like a dream.

Going to have to repeat the suggestions below to react to In Maidgan. I believe you will be totally blown away by Maria's vocal acrobatics.
Maybe you should listen to Aidus from Eluveitie. 😁
