Hi Dean hope your well, Good demonstration with the track and accessories. It does look a good set up from Evolution tools. Evolution needs to produce a plunge saw.
As always a great video, catch you soon Take care

Nice job, Dean. The movement of the work piece would drive me over the edge; I understand that you didn't clamp the work piece down, but that happens more often than not. This version seems to be a good advance over the first generation, but I think Evolution still has some work to do.

Given the choice, Dean - Evolution or Makita? I'm struggling with Parkside at the moment

Makita, the blade guard is my biggest gripe with the evolution, and better dust collection would be nice. That said, the evo is battery (and a single battery where a lot of cordless tracksaws need two), is probably quieter due to the brushless motor, and has more affordable track (that you could use for either to be fair).
I’ve used the evo quite a bit recently outside when trimming doors and 18mm MDF and it’s worked very well.
In the workshop though dust collection is important for me and ‘pick up and use’ simplicity, so the makita wins for my use case - but they’re both good.
And hey, if you got a makita you can still save money on the evolution track and accessories

According to the Evolution site the square does work on the 1st gen ST1400 and ST2800
The heading says G2 but in the Compatible with sub-section it includes the Evolution original as well as other makes

I’ll keep the Milwaukee track saw then I reckon, I do like those clamps and that plastic hose protector though also the connectors are miles better than the shitty Allen key grub screws on the Milwaukee. The Milwaukee has power, amazing dust collection, great settings and very accurate. The only thing the evolution is good for is the track and the price point imo. Good review though mate. 😊

WB Dean. That saw name just rolls off the tongue no? Lol. Peter Millard @10 Minute Workshop says the track aren't backwards compatible. Take care & stay safe.

I think a took company should give human names to tools for fun. Instead of buying a CC97LPG-5H you could get the brand new Evolution Steven. It would be awesome 😁

Im not sure the saw is new. I bought a cordless saw with (I'm pretty sure) the exact same model name from Evolution six months ago.

It wouldn't tip as much with one of the shorter 700mm sections for smaller bits of timber
    I have Gen 1 ST1400 and ST2800 tracks. 1x 700mm (from ST1400) is good for worktops and the 2x 1400 (from ST2800) joined for 8x4s

I think Evolution dropped the ball here.
This saw is the equal to the fezzy hkc 55. What Evo should have done is designed a plunge saw in tandem with this one.
For job site use where duct isn't an issue, you use this saw, If in a workshop, then it should be a plunge saw.
    Nice review mate!

Nice new release from evolution, however I think it's time for them to release a plunge saw.
