I also mained Lex Luthor in this game. I was screwed from the very beginning.

@Cuddly Savage Many, including myself, considered Raiden to be the worst character in Injustice 2. I'm not saying that it was impossible to use him though, as I believe that every character in that game is viable, as long as you were good with whatever character you were playing.
@@chocolatechad5132 I'll co-sign. I mained Raiden, Hellboy, and Scarecrow and I could never take him seriously. Btw I mained Raiden in every NRS game and he was somehow worse and better in MK11 🤦♂️
@@Chev_chevo Raiden in Injustice 2 was very hard to play in comparison to how godly he was in MKX...in MK11 he is still pretty good but its like NRS took his moves list from MKX and watered it down to make him less damaging but a guy such as myself who's played MK for 20 year always finds a way to make a character I like work regardless of which game i play them in
I think that netherrealm hasn't got many screwed characters. Like they are more known for the busted up characters than the opposite. I think the only one who is shit is Sheeva MK9. Aside of that not much

I never really experienced superman online like this. I played this game for a little over a year in release and i can count on one hand the amount of Supermans I went against. Harley Quinn and deathstroke on the other hand...🤦🏾♂️😭

I still have my PS3 and I still have that game and wouldn't you know they still got people that actually go online and play that game still to this day but I've been knew the Superman trait could brake armor ,I used it to break through Solomon Grundy and Doomsday's trait.

Honestly, I had a lot of fun playing injustice, and faced mostly characters like aquaman, Martian manhunter, and Black Adam online. If there was any character I disliked playing against it was probably Deathstroke.
in the comics superman gave doomsday two free hits before he learned better. a bystander described one of the punches as looking like it could have leveled a mountain
This is why I wish comics would go full anime (sometimes). Just imagine Superman and Doomsday fighting on the surface of the sun, or throwing each other into distant planets. Cool stuff like that!

Imagine Injustice Superman vs MK(9-11) scorpion. Played by experts of the characters.
That’s gonna be a really good fight because whenever I see both of those fights selected, I already know they gonna win
Scorpion for a very brief time was really overpowered in Injustice because of how fast his teleport was in a game where you hold back to block instead of a dedicated block button like MK. Normally in MK a character teleporting behind you wasn't as big a deal since you can press block to avoid left/right mixups but in Injustice when switching sides if you were holding back you'd have to switch position extremely quickly or eat the teleport punch.

Even in the comics Superman eventually made Doomsday his bitch several times later. Superman is awesome.

Superman main here. Yeah he felt really strong, I'm sad the character was so OP players were boo-ed and got a bad reputation. I even switched to Shazam for some time, but I picked up Superman again in Injustice 2 and I really enjoys him so I'm not dropping him again anytime soon. Superman from Injustice 2 feels a lot more fair and fun to play than Superman from Injustice 1

I do have a bad story about this character. Short of it was I was trying to just get into the Injustice game with a bunch of friends in college and here comes one of gaming clubs guys who knew how to actually play saying he could “help me.” Problem was he was picked Superman and told me to just pick the cheapest character as well and safe to say I learned absolutely nothing except get frustrated the whole time I was playing. One memorable time was when he told me to just practice blocking ice breath and heat vision at random intervals, yeah that was super not useful
B-but ice breath is 20 frames startup. Thats theoretically reactable, yes, but normal moves designed to be reacted to(using Ken's overhead attack in SF5) are at least 5 frames slower.
Do you think he had never played against a superman as a non-superman before and so he just assumed that the move was reasonable and that his opponents just weren't good enough?

Also, to add assault to injury, if Superman had full meter, you couldn't do ANYTHING from far away, because his super went fullscreen and had like 3 frames of startup

I honestly wish Superman’s ultimate ability was an instant game-over (one bar worth of damage).
Nobody should realistically Survive that.
But instead it took long to charge.
So, Superman would either risk to NEVER use meter for anything to win (battle of attrition - can he survive long enough, or can you kill him fast enough before he charges up) OR he would be able to spam his combos, but be unable to do his super.
Would be a cool design choice.

Gear system is cool. I just hate that there's so much gear that looks alike and so many repeated ones.
@@davidlazaro5362 Honestly there's only so much gear design you could think of that at one point it starts looking the same. That's why skins are better, you could commit with the theme for it.
I like having all the skins avaliable to use when you enter the game, I don't even want them to be locked behind storymode, despite me liking Netherealm's stories.
Metropolis is still a beautiful looking stage today.

Superman in the game sounds a lot like he was in the comics essentially someone who could out damage virtually everyone and he had such a massive collection of abilities and combos that going up against him solo was virtually a Fool's errand if you were at least Kryptonian or equivalent in the case of someone like Captain Marvel who I believe they call Shazam in the game

Man I really liked playing Superman....especially with his Cyborg Superman skin :) I used to bully my cousins with Superman's flying low or low scoop then use his super move...or let them think they're beating me then use Frost breath (or throw) to distance us followed by heat vision,flying ground smash then beat them into submission with a combo..ah yes truly it was a mortifying experience for them
I personally know KDZ because he plays at 8 on the break in jersey sometimes and we always boo him over his Superman EVO win to this day LOL
Nothing put a bigger smile on my face then beating Superman and other projectile spammer's with Bane. These people were so out of touch with mechanics I got accused of spamming and hacking cause I used Venom to plow through moves and grapple to death.

Personally I just start playing Injustice (this game is awesome) and I use Superman, for me is like a Mario for SSB, easy to use and lethal (don't underestimate Mario in SSB)

I hate how they completely reworked Wonder Woman in Injustice 2 when she was already a beautifully and uniquely designed character when Superman was obviously the character that needed a total overhaul.

As an FPS player I can’t really comment but most competitive scenes in FPS have gentlemen rules for tournaments to avoid things like this. Still a fascinating video anyway.

P.S: Doomsday won only once against Superman in Injustice timeline.
Any other encounter was Superman dominated.
Also also, nobody but Superman can take down Doomsday.
Doomsday is immortal and gets immune to any form of exploit (magic, electricity etc) every time he dies/gets knocked out.
You beat him with magic. Lol. Now he is immune to any and all magic. Good luck!
Doomsday is a zombie-minded Superman without any weaknesses (at the expense of no super-perceptions and flight abilities). He can even become invincible to kryptonite if somebody decides to off him with a kryptonite shard.
So,, there is NO way of beating Doomsday. All you can do is fly him into space and hope he does not come back.
And for THAT, you need somebody as strong and speedy as Superman to lift that monster off the ground.
So, Superman lifting Doomsday off the ground to deal with him, where nobody else possible can, IS lore accurate.
A character so good at his role that even real life people hate him

In the first injustice I hated fighting zatanna and that was more frustrating for me because I wasn't good with her! But for injustice 2 I hate fighting atom because of his shrinking!!! He's also the only character I can button mash and win most the time
He didn’t mention the random tracking on the lasers. If you jumped a spilt second late it’s gonna hit you. If you jumped over his head ggs lol. Heat zap recovery insanely fast, so supes could sneak a d1 after it whiffs.

What makes him strong in inj2? I find him very mediocre compared to other characters. He gets out spaced by lots of characters, out zoned, and out mixed.

It seems Netherealm games are the only ones that have broken or OP characters that seem to somehow slip past ALL testing. 🤔
Mr. Grimm 200 well the interesting thing is they are pretty open during development with players, what with the kombat kast and all that. But I don’t think there are any high level player, or at least not enough, on the development crew who can play each other and point out “oh. That shit is broken.”
The fact that you didn't start and end this video with f23 is egregious. If you completely took out the laser moves he'd still be top 1 because his braindead instant 1 neutral button was enough to be the best in the game.
I'm so glad you did a video like this on him. I hated this character so much in both injustice 1 and 2. Characters like superman makes me think netherrealm has no idea how to balance zoning characters. Don't get me wrong I think netherrealm is a great fighting game company and they make great games, but someone there must absolutely love zoning cause FUCK me man lol.
I've been booing Superman BEFORE this game. World's cheapest hero. Oh you could use fire? I have ice breath. Stronger than me? Zoooone with my Laaaazer vision.. This guy has an answer to everything BUT magic.

He could change his powers on command, clone himself, control time, destroy a solar system by sneezing, etc. He's been nerfed constantly.

I can say there is also boss version of him and that has 3x more rage rage and damage buff is 1,5 x instead 1,25. This form can be found in arcade mode or story mode final fight.

Superman in this game is accurate to his design.
He is MEANT to be a heavy hitter. And game balance design choice supports that.
So, he is not busted. He is simply just very strong.
Busted was Aquaman chip damage, if you know you know.
