Ok I'm gonna get crucified for this but batman's trait is good but it's not the best, you can easily drop combos if you don't have the right timing or just generally aren't paying close enough attention which don't get me wrong I love playing batman he's my favorite character but his trait can definitely be irritating at times
Basically, the Green Arrow style of Injustice at least. These were: - Down, Down, 4 - Down, Back, 4 - Down, Front, 4 As is they're not bad, but it could be me, better safety measure and all.
If they did that they would have to nerf the dynamite since its unlockable. I believe the point of it being random is because Harley is known to be a unpredictable character
There's also Black Manta's trait with allow to flly with his jetpack. It sounds cool in theory and but in a game where a lot of characters have anti airs and air projectiles it's pretty risky to use.
I feel that wonder woman’s trait is even worse because of the fact that her trait in injustice 1 was a stance switch and stance switches are so freaking fun to play around with.
I miss when Wonder Woman just traded between her sword and shield & her lasso it was interesting and gave her decent combos with each. Robin’s version of the Nightwing staff was very disappointing too
Yeah, a lot of people thought the lasso stance was better, but I think it would have been a lot cooler to try to fix it by making the sword stance better instead of just getting rid of it and giving her an even more useless trait.
In her base state Wonder Woman’s trait is too random, though they have augments for her that make it to where it is only a specific effect, so that helps

I think a character can be a zoner without fully relying on a couple spammable projectiles, chipping the opponent and hoping they get hit on the way in or running the clock down. That's zoning but also just boring design imo. There can be a lot of interesting kinds of zoners. NRS just always has the least interesting zoners because the reward for spamming projectiles is often really good and the counterplay often requires resources for not much reward compared to the zoner. Unless you have a teleport I guess, which is kind of like their scapegoat. "Well yeah [x] character has very oppressive and boring zoning, but it's ok because [y] character has a teleport and he can get around it so zoning has to be strong. Of [z] character without a teleport is fucked tho, we didn't think that far in advance. Good luck walk blocking"

Guile from street fighter is a good example as a true zoner,he have a good projectiles,good pressure and a dp which unsafe on block and also he can choose to rush you down if the player feels like it(Mainly Dango who is currently the best Guile player) Also Peacock from skullgirl,she is the best character in skullgirls mainly she is good almost everything outside defense options,she basically have alot of trouble when a rushdown character try to pressure her up I'm sure that ppl prefer a half zoner character than a true zoner because ppl just hate zoners if there's not much option to approach them outside using specific character to counter them

Honestly I think the biggest problem with Swamp Thing's trait is that it's on the wrong character. Imagine it on a zoner for a minute: Pop the trait and walk away from your opponent. If they want to approach you they have to give up a lot of mobility options, making it that much easier to keep them out.

I don't think Raphs trait is THAT bad. The build up can be performed after a sweep knockdown or randomly in neutral and you'd be surprised how much it catches people off guard. And the damage can be ridiculous. But yeah I understand the rest of the points.
No it’s bad bro I’m the best raph player on Xbox and let me tell you it is horrible he has ways to charge it like he can charge it mid combo but only if he uses in that same combo it’s weird and In neutral unless your playing a character with little projectiles I wouldn’t recommend going for when I play raph all I try to do is only get 1 of them cause then it gives him a good wakeup bug other than that his trait trash then when you add the fact even after getting it to lvl 3 he still has to spend bar to get the combo makes no sense it should be a free combo if you get it to lvl 3 and above
No mention of the armor that Swamp Thing’ trait provides? After those buffs, kids would think twice about spamming when I caught them with an armored vine throw for 20%
It always kinda annoys me that people think the he sucks, he has great 50/50 overhead/low/behind mixups because of his down back 3 clone move and his log projectile
swamp thing's was so stupid. I was main swampy for a lil and there was time I would call it out and it would just be the puddle and thats it... even if I didn't get hit. The trick with swamp was use the trait in the corner orif you have it out mid screen you use the MB forward roll and then you basically have most of the screen in his flower state. The custom version of the trait where he teleported was great
Swampie's trait is not great, but it used to be so much worse. Modern Swamp Thing can use MB roll and F21 to side switch while laying down the garden, thus trapping the foe in the thorns. However, these used to stop the trait automatically like jumping still does. At least he gets armour during the start up of vine grab in the garden now, too. Plus, if you press trait during the first phase, you can stop it prematurely in order to make the garden last longer, and press it again to kill the garden if the opponent escapes it somehow to reset the trait

Something you neglected to mention about Swamp Thing's trait is that it does help him out against zoning. If you are standing in the garden and you vine grab someone, you get armor. This allows you to trade projectiles, and since vine grab does big damage you will always win that trade. It also grants his standing 3 and bio fission attacks armor as well, making him hella scary in the corner. Underrated trait imo
The Lex trait defined how you play him and definitely was not bad. To activated it you end a combo with a string and cancel into trait while still holding the trait button you dash and the trait continues to charge while you move. This gave you free oki and made his other specials more intimidating. You not knowing how to use a character or move does not make it bad.

I love you you love them too, and most of all, you actually seem to enjoy what you do and you also talk statistics and good ways to use characters. The one game I wish you would cover, in Marvel Contest of Champions, I know it's not the same as Mortal Kombat or Injustice, or Injustice 2, but to be fair your channel slogan is "Everything About Fighting Games" and technically Contest of Champions is a fighting game. Wow! WW got ripped off! Why not add up, down, left, right, & neutral commands to WW's trait & choose your buff that way? Oh. Cause then she would be god tier. Just give her the ability to deflect projectiles with her bracelets already!
I kinda remember deathstroke's trait and I do think it was pretty bad. What it did was make his bullets unblockable for 2 or 3 seconds. That would have been fine if that was all there was to it, but it wasn't. What made it very bad was that the bullets did only half the damage (maybe even less) and all bullets, after the trait wore out would flat out miss until the trait was available again... which took longer to recover than the actual use of the trait itself. So you basically made a keepaway kharacter lose all keepaway after the ability on top of making his keepaway weaker when it was active. I don't think unblockable made it any better with such nerfs tbh.
It's good and bad at the same time. If the opponent is low on health, it is almost a guaranteed win. In other situations, it is just okay since you lose your guns. But thankfully Deathstroke has every other attack at his disposal
I'd say Batgirl is an honorable mention, you give up a lot of her bonkers damage for some more chip damage, not very good considering that she's incredibly hard to block against
Fairly certain Raphael's gameplan was to get to lvl 3 or higher during the first lifebar and then obliterate you in one combo on your last. I remember him getting some pretty insane damage from his trait. Honestly wouldn't have called it one of the worst. Found it integral to his main gameplan whereas Catwoman's is more of a side gameplan
Shazams trait wasn't the worst, it was consistent and amplified damage by a fair bit. But its startup was horrific, and shazam as a character extended combos through grabs and specials that didn't get effected by the buff. Furthermore, his best normal strings were kicks. However, 112 enders were significantly increased, so there was that.
It sucks that Raph got the treatment he got, he’s actually my favorite Ninja Turtles to play as. His kit is way better with Sewer Sai Dive and Air Shellacopter, not to mention his Legendary Gear only gives him a barely noticeable Damage Buff
I feel like Wonder woman's trait could be like based off the last move you performed, so if you jumped then when you press trait the hermes would show up, if you used your lasso special move, then lasso buff, and so on. If that sounds confusing or a horrible idea lmk lol
As a switch from canary to raph main that mans trait is legit trash 😢 very little matchups that you can actually charge it cause of how long it takes, it’s a single hitting easy to block trait, only good thing about that trait is it gives him a good d1 check and when he has trait he becomes the only turtle with a safe wake up other than that his trait is trash they should’ve made it 2 hits so it can at least break armor and if he somehow gets it to lvl 3 or above he shouldn’t have to spend bar to get the combo he should just get it but they hate my boy raph at nrs 🤦🏽♂️
Your supposed to charge it at the end of combos instead of using a ender special. You sacrifice damage in those combos to get a big damage increase on his biggest combos.
@@nicholausstevens1262 you can’t the move has so much recovery if you try to end a combo with it they can hit you with a wakeup punish only string he has that gives him a free trait charge is 1,1,2 and you have to go for some weird low damaging combos to even end a combo with that string and for a trait like his that isn’t that good anyways there’s no reason to sacrifice damage for a trait charge

I think Red Hood's trait should have been an honorable mention. He is my main in that game by a significant margin and I can say I use it maybe once every ten matches. It just feels very limited on when it is actually useful and while the extra damage is nice the range is very limiting and the complete lack of options for anything other than the last hit makes it pretty much useless for anything other than extending a combo. Also meter burning it does about 2% more damage on a short combo, which is pretty pathetic for such a cool animation

@@alexmatthewsiv4310 I always thought it had potential to be good, but it never feels like it fits. Locking him down makes it much harder to use than it should, and considering how most of his kit is designed for lunge distance it really just feels out of place

I never played or seen much Wonder Woman in Injustice 2 so that’s unfortunate to see, especially after her stance switch trait in the first game was so fun to play with.
i think a good way to improve swamp thing's trait would be to litereally overhaul its effect and instead it makes the entire ground the garden, heavily restricting mobility, so he can approach easier, but the time its active is heavily reduced.
Personally, I don't like any of the traits that are randomized. If you pop trait, you should know what you're getting. There's no reason it can't be like other specials with multiple options where you can choose, but have to choose to forgo something to get something else.
I really want professor pyg to be a playable character in the next injustice game and I just noticed he is in the background of the joker part of the video
Actually Swampthing trait is okay and maybe good since it gives him armor on his special like Banes and his exfoliation hit twice and is plus 6 on block and launches for a combo

I'm sorry, but Lex trait being bad? That's just wrong. It was an incredibly powerful trait that allowed him to go 5-5 with 4 of the top 5 characters in the game. It made almost every one of his moves safe, it made it dangerous to try to pressure him, it gave him a terrifying oki, specially in the corner. And also you could cancel the charge with forward or back dash AND keep charging it, which everyone did, so you never took the extra damage from level one. What's even more baffling is you put Lex's trait in but left out Deathstroke's, which was completely terrible.

Something you neglected to mention about Swamp Thing's trait is that it does help him out against zoning. If you are standing in the garden and you vine grab someone, you get armor. This allows you to trade projectiles, and since vine grab does big damage you will always win that trade.
It also grants his standing 3 and bio fission attacks armor as well, making him hella scary in the corner. Underrated trait imo
The Lex trait defined how you play him and definitely was not bad. To activated it you end a combo with a string and cancel into trait while still holding the trait button you dash and the trait continues to charge while you move. This gave you free oki and made his other specials more intimidating. You not knowing how to use a character or move does not make it bad.
I'm not buying any potential Injustice 3 until I know Wonder Woman has an ok trait.
i think to counteract the randomness of WW's trait,. they made it so that whatever you get lasts since her trait is actually significantly long.

I love you you love them too, and most of all, you actually seem to enjoy what you do and you also talk statistics and good ways to use characters. The one game I wish you would cover, in Marvel Contest of Champions, I know it's not the same as Mortal Kombat or Injustice, or Injustice 2, but to be fair your channel slogan is "Everything About Fighting Games" and technically Contest of Champions is a fighting game. Just something I personally would enjoy seeing from you. I absolutely LOVE what you're doing now, so if you feel that you don't want to cover it, that's fine! I'll love your channel either way!
Wow! WW got ripped off! Why not add up, down, left, right, & neutral commands to WW's trait & choose your buff that way? Oh. Cause then she would be god tier. Just give her the ability to deflect projectiles with her bracelets already!
Slade has a pretty bad trait... unblockable bullets... then he can't land a shot for awhile...

I kinda remember deathstroke's trait and I do think it was pretty bad. What it did was make his bullets unblockable for 2 or 3 seconds. That would have been fine if that was all there was to it, but it wasn't. What made it very bad was that the bullets did only half the damage (maybe even less) and all bullets, after the trait wore out would flat out miss until the trait was available again... which took longer to recover than the actual use of the trait itself. So you basically made a keepaway kharacter lose all keepaway after the ability on top of making his keepaway weaker when it was active. I don't think unblockable made it any better with such nerfs tbh.
It's good and bad at the same time. If the opponent is low on health, it is almost a guaranteed win. In other situations, it is just okay since you lose your guns. But thankfully Deathstroke has every other attack at his disposal
I'd say Batgirl is an honorable mention, you give up a lot of her bonkers damage for some more chip damage, not very good considering that she's incredibly hard to block against
To be honest, I always be vibing to your Intro.
Fairly certain Raphael's gameplan was to get to lvl 3 or higher during the first lifebar and then obliterate you in one combo on your last. I remember him getting some pretty insane damage from his trait.
Honestly wouldn't have called it one of the worst. Found it integral to his main gameplan whereas Catwoman's is more of a side gameplan

Shazams trait wasn't the worst, it was consistent and amplified damage by a fair bit. But its startup was horrific, and shazam as a character extended combos through grabs and specials that didn't get effected by the buff. Furthermore, his best normal strings were kicks. However, 112 enders were significantly increased, so there was that.

It sucks that Raph got the treatment he got, he’s actually my favorite Ninja Turtles to play as. His kit is way better with Sewer Sai Dive and Air Shellacopter, not to mention his Legendary Gear only gives him a barely noticeable Damage Buff

As a switch from canary to raph main that mans trait is legit trash 😢 very little matchups that you can actually charge it cause of how long it takes, it’s a single hitting easy to block trait, only good thing about that trait is it gives him a good d1 check and when he has trait he becomes the only turtle with a safe wake up other than that his trait is trash they should’ve made it 2 hits so it can at least break armor and if he somehow gets it to lvl 3 or above he shouldn’t have to spend bar to get the combo he should just get it but they hate my boy raph at nrs 🤦🏽♂️
Your supposed to charge it at the end of combos instead of using a ender special. You sacrifice damage in those combos to get a big damage increase on his biggest combos.
@@nicholausstevens1262 you can’t the move has so much recovery if you try to end a combo with it they can hit you with a wakeup punish only string he has that gives him a free trait charge is 1,1,2 and you have to go for some weird low damaging combos to even end a combo with that string and for a trait like his that isn’t that good anyways there’s no reason to sacrifice damage for a trait charge

I think Red Hood's trait should have been an honorable mention. He is my main in that game by a significant margin and I can say I use it maybe once every ten matches. It just feels very limited on when it is actually useful and while the extra damage is nice the range is very limiting and the complete lack of options for anything other than the last hit makes it pretty much useless for anything other than extending a combo. Also meter burning it does about 2% more damage on a short combo, which is pretty pathetic for such a cool animation

i think a good way to improve swamp thing's trait would be to litereally overhaul its effect and instead it makes the entire ground the garden, heavily restricting mobility, so he can approach easier, but the time its active is heavily reduced.

Personally, I don't like any of the traits that are randomized. If you pop trait, you should know what you're getting. There's no reason it can't be like other specials with multiple options where you can choose, but have to choose to forgo something to get something else.
Balance by opportunity cost, I like it.
Although, if people really metagame it, they will always spam the best option….

I'm sorry, but Lex trait being bad? That's just wrong. It was an incredibly powerful trait that allowed him to go 5-5 with 4 of the top 5 characters in the game. It made almost every one of his moves safe, it made it dangerous to try to pressure him, it gave him a terrifying oki, specially in the corner. And also you could cancel the charge with forward or back dash AND keep charging it, which everyone did, so you never took the extra damage from level one. What's even more baffling is you put Lex's trait in but left out Deathstroke's, which was completely terrible.
