I’m an ESL teacher who has lived in China married to a Japanese man living in one of the most diverse cities in the world. When I asked her the last time she’s spoken to a Mongolian she said “she just groups them all together” and calls Sikhs Arabs. For the record, I don’t claim to be an authority on Asians.

I was a cashier in a grocery store. My next customer was an older lady. She started randomly crying like a baby at the top of her lungs "WAAAAA WAAAAA WAAAAA!!"
And I look at her completely startled.
She said "that fukkin kid over there has been crying this whole time. Its fukkin annoying. So let's see how he likes it. WAAAAA WAAAAA WAAAA!!"
I just couldn't believe this grown ass woman was behaving like that.
Other customers behind her were telling her to shut the fuk up.
She got mad and threw her stuff on the floor and stormed out.
You know how people say 'respect your elders'?
Well, does it mean I have to respect grown adults who behave like children?

My ASD diagnosis came in at 17. Funny enough and thankfully most of my life hasn't changed. Mind you the downside is my overloads/overwhelms cause me to because very bad in social situations. I cant tell you the public death glares I get when I ask people to quiet their kids down or ask people screaming next to me in an isle to voice down.
It's a frustration duality.

Both my parents are on the autism spectrum and don’t understand non-verbal cues, so I’ve got a ton of these. Watched my mom once was volunteering at a museum. I watched as she literally stood in the middle of the one exit doorway to her exhibit and droned on about it, while the family that was in the exhibit hall listening to her ‘speech’ was looking bored, then annoyed, then completely trapped. It was a solid 20 minutes before she accidentally moved enough that they could slip by her and get out. My dad’s special interest is public transportation. We got on the subway and I watched him berate a young woman who paid the regular fare instead of getting the cheaper pass. This went on for a solid five minutes, and the poor girl looked terrified. I finally had to tell my dad that he was harassing her and to leave her be. He then proceededed to argue with me about how he wasn’t harassing her and it was important that the girl learned how public transport worked. In the meantime, she bolted to the back of the train and got as far away from my dad as she could.

We visited a northern state once (we're from Texas and none of us even vaguely have southern accents or look southern). She starts going on and on to the waitress who did not care nor ask, about how we're from Texas and we have southern accents and the dumb stereotypes about being from the south and the weather difference. The lady told us we do not have southern accents. It was awkward

My Mom had this friend (who actually passed away a couple years ago) who, whenever you'd tell her a story about something that happened to you, would tell you back the same exact story and say it happened to her. Sometimes she'd retell a story that you told her previously in the same conversation! She was a weird one.

Kids can't eat sweats because he got fat. Kids must work hard in school because ADHD is no excuse, but quit his job when he received the diagnosis 3y ago. Kids get 1h of screen time a day, but he plays video games all day long (they're 11 & 6). Shows off "his" house, which is actually just his girlfriends.

My last semester in college I was put into a Physics class, because it was a requirement to take for my major. I'm disabled by a visual impairment. I have double vision, slow, jagged movement of my eyes, when I look down, no depth perception and tunnel vision, where I can't see anything below my nose.
Prior to class starting the first day, I was casually talking with a few other students and three of them turned out to also be disabled, so we formed a study group right away.
The professor walks in and is unpacking his bag at the front of the room. We take our seats.
A woman stomps in, red in the face, with her hair frazzled. She gets beside the professor's desk and announces, "I'm disabled and I'm being forced to take this class!"
One of the other girls I'd been talking to and I said that we were also disabled and had formed a study group, if she wanted to join us.
This insulted her.
The professor started class, told us where to turn to in our books, and began doing problems on the board. He asked around the room how he should write various symbols for compounds, etc. and we answered as best we could. If we got our answer wrong, he kindly corrected us. When he reached this woman, she once again screeched, "I'm disabled and I can't do this!"
The next class comes and this woman walks in, prior to the start, and yells that she couldn't do last night's homework and needs to see someone else's homework. She grabs the notebook, from the girl beside her, and completely copies all of her answers. Within in a week's worth of classes, the table was clear around her.
The professor was asking around the room again for answers on the homework and when he got to her, he sighed, as she yelled out that she was disabled.
The professor told her that there were other disabled students in the class, but at least they were trying and she should at least try, also.
She yelled out, "But I have dyslexia!"
The professor stared at her and the four of us were like, "And???" All four of us told her that we also had dyslexia, along with other ailments, that led to our dyslexia.
Not being able to make a better argument she hollered out, "Yeah? Well, I'm older, so I've had mine longer!" Then she stuck out her tongue.
This woman was in her forties!

There’s a guy in my town‘s local filmmaking scene who makes up the most ridiculous stories about what he’s done in the industry. Apparently he was Robin William’s butler for 3 months, rescued a famous actor on set, was offered a position at WWE. But turned it down because he didn’t want to do steroids, witnessed Quentin Tarantino doing Cocaine on the set of Django, slept with both Britney Spears AND Taylor swift, etc. I don’t think the dude even realizes that he’s been blacklisted throughout most of the state. Productions have been warned about him.

As someone who works in the Heritage/Museum sector, the story on the dude taking a picture of the Decleration of Independence with his flash still on makes me cringe up into a ball. Honestly with the description of everyone yelling at him I'm surprised he wasn't tackled and marched out by security.
Some of these old documents are SUPER sensitive to any bright lights and someones we go out of the way to limit as much exposure as possible.

@I love you!! Well light is more of a threat to printed paper, or any paper with writing on it. Exposure to direct sunlight, strong artifical lighting, UV rays - or even a camera flash - can fade it over time, so with something like the Declaration of Independence - super old and super important - I'm sure the staff would want to keep it free from as much light as possible.

I was at an art museum in downtown Dallas with my boyfriend back in the early 1980s. There was an exhibit of priceless antiquities and artwork on display, on loan from some billionaire. There were velvet ropes along with laser beam alarm system to keep visitors away from the items.
I heard the alarm go off, and security running towards us. I looked over at my BF who was @ 12 feet away, and to my horror, he was holding a Ming Dynasty vase saying, "So that's what a "Ming vase" looks like!
He had just ignored all the signs, the ropes, the guards and just reached into the room and picked that vase up like he was shopping for nick-nacks at Target.
I wish the floor could have opened up and swallowed me.
He wasn't arrested, but of course I didn't get to see the rest of the exhibit since we were kicked out.
BTW, this guy was French, and often talked down to us "Americans" because of our lack of culture and sophistication. Maybe he thought his superior "classiness" gave him permission to fondle a very valuable, fragile, 500+ year old work of art that belonged to someone else.

Because less women worked in their generation. Most women’s aspirations at that time was to be a wife and mother. The more attractive you are, the more likely you’ll attract a potential husband. And men needed enough money to be able to support their families. Back then, a lot of ppl got married for security, convenience, and their reputation. Nowadays ppl realize that marriage is a lifelong partnership and we need to be careful who we marry. Personality and compatibility matters most for a marriage to actually be a happy one.

I had a palmreader tell me I'd have 3 daughters. I can't have children and I am gay, I said nothing. I ended up with three young ladies who we somehow 'adopted' (one of them had her mother promise I would take care of her -- she had terminal cancer. I'm a cancer survivor) The two others have also lost their moms. I have 3 daughters, and a 'grand daughter' who shares my middle name and was named for 'her momCat' (we call them The Kittens, I'm 'MomCat.') One of them is a Voice Actor on a series right now. I am so proud of my Kittens.

It would have been funny if I had been told that I would have a "lot of kids" some day. I have a 20 acre property in the wilderness on a mountain that burns frequently due to wildfire (It's California). I started getting goats @ 14 years ago, so I've had lots of darling kids, and love them all!
Those goats saved our lives. They are the only reason my house didn't burn in the last fire, with my son and me inside. Our goats removed all the brush and weeds for at least a 100 ft. around the house giving us defensible space.
The fire marshall told me after the danger had passed, "Lady, your goats SAVED your ass!"

My husband. There hasn't been an event or outing we've been on when he hasn't shoved his foot firmly into his mouth. He's so eager to impress strangers (come across as the most likable, nice, helpful guy) that I have witnessed him flat out lie to them in front of me. When I call him on his lies or his lack of awareness then he tells me I'm overreacting and people like to hear those things (the lies). No, hubby, people like to hear the truth. It's why they asked about you.
Just recently we went to a dog adoption event where a bunch of people bring in the dogs they've been fostering. One was a lady with cerebral palsy who was in a wheelchair. She had an elderly dog that wasn't very active. I had spoken to her as our son who is 9 years old, also has cerbral palsy (but isn't in a wheelchair). We talked about various things, including the dog. Then I went about trying to keep track of my kids as my husband tends to not always keep the best eye on them. At one point I'm wondering what happened to him, searching the aisles of the pet store, when I finally see him talking to the lady in the wheelchair. He's rubbing her arm. I freeze. Then I go over and call him to me to ask if he got permission to touch her. As a mom of a physically disabled child I have become more aware that a lot of peope think physically disabled people aren't actually human and they can do or say whatever they want to them or infront of them, and it's some how okay. That they don't require things like personal space like the non-disabled people. All of which is not true. They are human and deserve the same respect as anyone else.
With that said, my husband answered he had not asked her permission to touch her. That, according to him, it was no big deal and I was overreacting. That the woman seemed fine with it and would have said something if she was uncomfortable. I just glared at him. The man has a physically disabled child and still doesn't realize that what he did wasn't okay.
He is so focused on coming across as the "nice guy" that he doesn't actually listen to what people are saying to him or is aware that what he said or did might be wrong or inappropriate.

Sometimes there's a method to the madness. I worked with a woman with several chronic illnesses. I swear the entire company - every dept. - knew all about her problems because she would talk about them constantly, and was usually on the phone with a doctor or pharmacist every morning before her shift started - loud enough that everyone could hear the convo. The upside was that no one questioned it when she called out sick (which she really was, but it can be hard to convince a manager of that if you're the type who tries to just power through. We had an HR manager who came to work right after a root canal. That kind of company culture).

I should preface this by saying I am a brown skinned person of mixed ancestry, partly African. I was at a party and this woman I didn't know was loudly proclaiming that she was aboriginal, she was a proud aboriginal woman, blah blah. OK, so I am actually interested in genetics and stuff, so I innocently asked her how many generations back she had an aboriginal ancestor. ( Her skin was beige, at best) . Bad move, She started screaming that she was a full blood aboriginal, her parents were full blood aboriginals, I was so insulting and racist..... I rolled my eyes and walked away.

When I was 12, or 13, (1987-88 ish) my family lived in an apartment complex that was a smidge ghetto. I was the complex babysitter and having been parentified by my own parents, I was damn good at it. So, this single mom of 3 kids moves in and her neighbor tells her about me. Mom loves going out on Friday nights and wants me to watch her kids from 10pm to 6 or 7am-ish. Kids are 7yo, 3yo and 2 months. She says I can have a friend stay with me. No guys (duh. I'm 12, lady) and no smoking in the house. Easy. So, she tells me to be sure the baby is in her bassinet at 6 because she's gonna want to crash when she gets home. I tell her sure. So, I stay and everything is fine. She gets home around 7 and I'm on the couch, half asleep with baby in my arms drinking a bottle and dozing. Mom's pissed because baby isn't in the bassinet. I explain that she was hungry, so I fed her. Mom says, that's fine but that I need to prop up the bottle with a blanket and let the baby eat in bed. (I'm only 12 but I am not dumb. This baby is 2 months old. She can drown in her bottle. She could spit up, or get a major tummy ache from not being burped. Any number of things make this a horrible idea and I tell her this. She tells me that this is what she's done with all her kids and it's not a big deal and they're fine. She pays me, I leave. Next weekend, she wants me to babysit. I go over and everything is good. Mom and her friend roll in around 6 and I'm holding the baby, feeding her. This time moms pissed because I didn't do what she said and prop the bottle. I tell her I'll never prop a bottle for a newborn baby. That I know about crib death and you can't just treat a brand new baby like a 2 year old. She can choke. She can smother herself with the blanket, etc. and I'm not going to do it. The mom says I don't have kids, so I don't know what I'm talking about. Moms friend busts out this gem, "babies are born knowing how to swim so she'll just hold her breath if she starts to choke." I explain that this doesn't make any sense. I'm never gonna to do it, so I tell her I'm just not going to watch her kids anymore and that she's very lucky. And that just because her other 2 kids are okay doesn't that something bad can't happen to the baby. I left. Weekend comes and I turn her down. I couldn't believe how out of touch these people were. I don't know if this is something people do but PLEASE DON'T. Newborns require a lot more care than that... Please educate yourself if you are pregnant. At 12 years old I just couldn't believe how reckless and irresponsible this woman was. Her deduction that because I hadn't physically pushed a baby out, I couldn't possibly know what I'm talking about was so astoundingly stupid I didn't know what more to say.
We moved at the end of summer, so I don't know what happened. I'm sure she remains an idiot.

I got my iq tested as a kid because my grades and intelligence didn't seem to match up. I had a slightly above average iq but slow processing speed. So my joke is
"don't worry I'm not dumb I'm just slow"
Basically the truth. I can be really smart if you give me time to think it through, put me on the spot and my first answer is probably going to make future me cringe.

@@yougotgamesonyourphone6947 well contrary to popular belief, hi iq doesn't mean you're smart. An iq test doesn't measure your knowledge, it measures your capacity to learn. A person with an average iq can be smarter than someone above them if they apply themselves. Unfortunately, the worst thing you can do for a kid with hi iq is to tell them because then they think they don't have to put in as much effort as everyone else.

I remember telling the class during a discussion of iq how I took an iq test online and got 175 or something like that. I then said I didn't trust it and randomized my answers and specifically chose differently on some questions and got the same answer and determined it was fake. I also didn't know what was a high or normal score at the time so it kinda makes me embarrassed about it now. I had no idea so I wonder if it seemed like I was bragging or did they take the story as is.

But i mean, we don't go to classes because we know everything so anyone that held it against you long term for not knowing the difference between a genuine approved iq test and and online quiz for clicks probably needs their own reality check. A close friend of mine that I spend quite a bit of time with (lunches, phone calls, etc.). Apparently, she had just learned the word "juxtaposition" and what it meant, so for the next month, I swear to God, every. single. conversation, she used that word. I'm assuming she was trying to sound more intelligent or something, but I cringed every time I heard it. I guess she finally got tired of using it and it got old, because after a while, I didn't hear her use it anymore. Thank God.

I have (had?) a friend (call her C) who had always insisted she was the "mom friend" in every group she joins, yet literally no one in our group would call C that. I hadn't heard from her in a while, until I moved in with another friend (call her E) who off-handedly mentioned they weren't really friends anymore. I asked why, and she said C had gone around complaining about how E "stole" her spot as the mom friend in our group... except she said it to E's boyfriend... who had to gently remind her that they were dating, that they had mentioned it many times in the group chat (that C rarely interacted on besides talking about how she just bought such-and-such, or to add pictures of her own pets immediately after someone posted theirs).
I had never really had problems with C, but I always thought she was a bit over the top, a bit self centered. But honestly I liked every other member of her family more than her...

My Mum and I saw Alan Carr at a rehearsal performance (before he went on his Spexy Beast tour). There was a woman who sat two rows behind us who was a bit tipsy and was under the impression that the group she was with were the only ones in the entire auditorium. She kept yelling out responses whenever Alan asked rhetorical questions and kept calling out when he didn't take notice of her. We were all in the stalls so no one down below (including Alan) could hear her. The group she was with: her friend, her BF and his friend were all very sober and were quiet the entire time except when the BF would whisper to her to shut up. She was shouting so much that everyone was constantly turning their heads towards her in disgust and didn't want to tell her to stop to avoid her causing a scene. One group was a mother with three pre-teens who were a few rows in front of us. One of the kids was reduced to tears because of this woman's interrupting and they had to leave their seats to move further away from our section.
Finally, the woman got the attention she wanted when Alan was asking the audience about their preferences on red or white wine. This woman eagerly screamed that she hates white wine and got Alan's attention. Alan, of course hadn't noticed this woman yelling all through the first act and they had a small back and forth and joking with each other. Everyone in our section groaned. The girl got so excited with this interaction and was craving more attention from the man. Ten minutes later, Alan gets on the subject of women drivers. Girl yells at him again and Alan is all like "Oh! You drive and don't like white wine!" She kept shouting down to him and it was then that he was starting to get irritated with her but kept his cool. Alan tried talking to other audience members and was about to move on to the next subject but the woman was insisting on shouting at him about white wine and driving, Alan had had enough and in a very sassy tone said "I'm going to go up there and b*tch slap you in a minute." The crowd roared and applauded, our section cheered louder. The woman went quiet for about five minutes but started up again until intermission. Alan ignoring her the entire time.
During the break, theatre staff gathered around the group with a huge muscular security guard telling them that they were being kicked out. The woman's BF starts angrily ranting at the staff that the woman did not shut up the entire time despite him and others telling her to. The staff and security guard spoke for a bit and decided to sit her and her friend in some empty stalls further away from us so they were all by themselves and the security guard watched them for the rest of the evening. If the woman started shouting again, she'll be kicked out. Surprisingly, the woman didn't get angry with this decision and didn't make a sound all night.

My parents never thought much of my husband’s parents because they lived in an area that had a bad reputation in low income public housing. At my FIL’s funeral she saw the Mayor of our city, walked up to him and asked what he was doing at a thing like this. SO WHEN THE OLD MAN LOOKED WHO IS THE NEW OWNER OF THE HOUSE OPENS THE DOOR, we saw and heard the ex telling the old man that he loves Pauline, and he is read to make it up to her, the old man had a pretty good memory he yelled that the Pauline who used to own the house is married and she sold the house, he's the lucky buyer and jokingly said thank you for the song, before closing the door. I told Pauline about it through video call on her social media, and she and her husband burst of laughter. She asked me what the ex looks like and what he said, then she says it's someone she even just remembers now, since she dated tons of men after him, before meeting her husband, all her mind had before meeting her husband are at least those 5 men before him, the ex boyfriend who went in front of her ex location happens to be someone who did also really broke her heart because he is a womanizer that wants what he wants if he doesn't gets what he wants he throws tantrums. Which all MATCHED UP because the neighbor even told us what happened when he was talking to then from he open window without the mic, they said he forced them to give her contact and GUILT TRIPPED THEM FOR SAYING NO, and WAS FORMING SOME TANTRUMS , the reason he left was when they were about to call the cops on him.

I have a friend who weighs in the 350 - 450 lb zone. Her knees are worn out from carrying that weight and she can barely get around. She's also a severe diabetic, as is her husband. So she posts pictures of the food she cooks on Facebook constantly. It's her favorite topic. At Christmas she goes crazy with giant plates with ten different kinds of cookies, cakes, pies, etc. She's a "sweet" person and nobody wants to hurt her feelings.

I've experienced versions of some of these. The co-worker rambling on about her Crohn's disease (in a SALES meeting of all places) reminds me of an incident at my workplace when a co-worker started talking about intimate details of his medical procedure/condition. Then as if trying to outdo him the guy he was talking to starting rambling on about HIS medical procedure. They were grossing me out so bad I said "WILL YOU TWO PLEASE STOP TALKING ABOUT THAT?????" Another incident occurred during lunch. One worker decided to go into excruciating detail about her toilet overflowing, and as if that wasn't enough she then starts rambling on about her dog having diarrhea. Finally I said "LYNN IN CASE YOU HAVEN'T NOTICED PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO EAT HERE!!!! DO YOU REALLY THINK WE NEED TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR FRICKING TOILET OVERFLOWING OR YOUR FRICKING DOG HAVING DIARRHEA?????" The case of the co-worker berating you for talking but then doing a song and dance routine the next day also rung a bell. Once a support manager wanted to get by me but I didn't know she was there because I wasn't looking in her direction but at my supervisor whom I was talking to. So the support manager screams "EXCUSE ME! EXCUSE ME! EXCUSE ME MEANS EXCUSE ME!" (Gee a good thing she told me. I always thought "Excuse me" meant "Let's go drink some beer".) So what's her point - telling me something any idiot already knows? If she wanted someone to move who doesn't realize she is there and trying to get by just ask - politely. And some time later I was trying to get past her with a floor scrubber when she was blocking the aisle. She just stood there for a while and finally asked if I was trying to get by. I said I was. (Well I was standing there with the scrubber; what the hell did she think?) Then she rudely replied "Well speak up!" She knew damn well I was there. Anyone who learned manners growing up knows if you are blocking someone's path and you know they are there you shouldn't have to be asked to move. It's just common courtesy. Would she prefer if I said the same thing to her she earlier said to me: "EXCUSE ME! EXCUSE ME! EXCUSE ME MEANS EXCUSE ME!" And another support manager exhibited the same hypocrisy. Once while passing by him and a co-worker he was talking to I grabbed a Halloween mask from a nearby shelf and put it over my face as a joke. When he saw me he said "Well it looks like you have lots of time on your hands. Maybe you should work this skid of merchandise" (which wasn't even my job). Yet he had been standing around talking to my co-worker for 15 minutes and that's perfectly fine. And he did that every single night several times a night - he would stand around yapping to my co-workers about issues having nothing to do with work for 15 to 20 minutes at a time. Yet I take two seconds to put a mask over my face as a joke and it's a big deal; look at all the time I'm wasting.

The second entry... I met someone like that going on 2 years ago. It was just over instagram... anyways, It all started over a band we both like. Within less than 1 week she was video messaging me. And because she didn't have wifi service at her house, she would stay at her work past quitting time so she could video with me... but not before stopping at the liquor store across the street, first, to load up on those small bottles of vodka and downing them like they were going out of style...
And all she wanted to talk about was herself. Her life's drama. Her problems. Anything having to do with "her". I felt bad for her hearing how her mother was killed in a car accident the year prior. Because of that, I was patient with her and let her say what she needed to. What's crazy is that for some reason when first readig about her mother passing under one of her photos, it kind of hit me a little bit. And I didn't even know her at the time. I was also thinking how fortunate I was to not have lost a parent unexpectedly like that...
I later began catching on little by little, though. She would often be so fucking drunk when she would reach me, in fact, she went on this long rant one time telling serious TMI shit about herself that happened years ago. I don't think she even realized that she told me is the thing. And she was always quick to let me know that she'd have to yet off the phone because "I gotta take a shit... I'll call you back..." an sure as shit she would call back.
Finally, one day I told her "you know, for as long as we've been talking to each other... you know very little about me..." she immediately knew what I was getting at an I could tell I made her feel like shit... oh well though... I don't "force" myself onto people, and neither should she. Here's where shit gets really crazy...
After maybe 3 months of this, and well... my mother dies in the hospital unexpectedly of what they said was "complications associated with influenza"... but I think it was this virus that was going around. And that was right before it became mainstream and known worldwide. It seems that of the work of a cover up to me. It's as if me seeing g that photo of her mother and reading g the caption, then feeling the way that I was was like a premonition, or an omen. A forewarning into the bear future as to what was going to be happening in my own life and how I would feel about it.
I sometimes wonder if she is some kind of a curse that was laid upon me. Like, maybe her long drunken rants about how much her life sucks and how big of a fuckup she is was actually her shedding all her dark energy and negativity onto me by channeling it through our conversations. I realize that sounds a bit much, but at the same time I do think that was too close to home the way my mother died unexpectedly soon after meeting someone overwhelmed internet who had the same thing happen over a year prior.... but if that wasn't enough.....
About 1 week after my mother died, she messaged me frantically saying her brother died of a heroin overdose. Ever since the first time we ever talked she said how her brother was on the H real bad and that she just had top great of a feeling that it was only a matter of time before he was going to end up being found dead somewhere. And that's exactly what had happened too.
I remember her calling m worried that she hadn't seen or heard from him in 2 then 3 days. When my mother died and she found out... I didn't hear from her any more than what I did regularly. Even afterwards, she would interrupt me shifting the conversation onto herself. That very much pissed me off and was very disrespectful. After her brother died, I heard less and less from her. Not because she was greiving... but because she started a go fund me for her brothers funeral expenses and such.... in just a few days, she raised well over $10,000 dollars with more coming in!!! Yet, she wants to yack with me tying me up saying how awful her life is and she has no support???? But can do a go fund me and BOOM... it explodes practically overnight on account of her brother??? BULLSHIT!!! That's what I call that. I saw the proof that she wasn't making it up either
She ended up having him cremated and just a little service. She got that money and went El Cheapo is what she did... I'm not stupid lol since then, we barely talk. I came to the conclusion that she's a manipulative control freak who plays the sympathy card for attention and free money and drugs. She never once asked me for any favors, or anything. But had we lived closer proximity... I can only imagine how different things would have been

A few years ago, in an integrated team with 3 different agencies , another team lead called me, even though she could have spoken to me directly as I normally would spend a few days in her office, to ask me if all Indians smelled nasty. As she had a girl in the team who had BO. I had to reminder her that she called me , a person of Indian origins and ask me a pretty rude thing and was sharing some embarrassing information about someone in her team, instead of directly speaking with her in confidence and also had to remind her that she had 3 other Indian women working in her team if she desperately needed ask someone this question. My husband is almost completely deaf and wears a hearing aide. He is a notorious cheapskate, always complaining of the cost of things...almost as if he's been living under a rock since 1970 and thinks that prices haven't changed since then. He also has a bad habit of saying what's on his mind without thinking. We came to his hearing aide doctors appointment. We were greeted by the receptionist...an older lady who is a total sweetheart. She had a beautiful flower arrangement on her desk...she explained that her daughter sent her the flowers as this was her first day back to work due to her husband's death...she then went into detail that she came home from work one day and found him deceased and how it's been a shock and adjustment for her to be a widow. I gave my sincere sympathies and asked my husband if he thought the flowers looked nice. My husband makes the comment, "For what they cost they should look nice"...I glared at him, offered this sweet lady my sympathy and left the office with him...I was so embarrassed. When we were out of earshot, I tore into him asking what the hell was he thinking making that remark? That this poor lady just lost her husband and he makes a remark like he did. He had no idea what I was talking about...I told him that he needed to start actually listening once in a while and think before he speaks. 😒

I actually am an empath (which sucks since it rears its ugly head even with fictional characters and not just real people. Makes even watching tv heck). The ironic thing is that I’m on the autism spectrum and shouldn’t be able to be able to perceive others emotions or feel them myself (we’re not exactly known for being able to understand social cues), but I learned to read people (I didn’t teach myself to feel what others feel, that part came on it’s own) to avoid being hurt or lied to.

When one of my childhood friends had just become a father, my (now deceased) stepmum asked about the name of the little girl.
"They're going to name her Karen," I said. Note: This was way before 'Karen' had the derogatory meaning it has nowadays.
"Karen? That's not a name you give people!"
I pointed at my dad and said "He has a sister named Karen if you remember..."
Stepmum kept going on with "Yeah, but....she's old and..."
I glanced at my dad - the atmosphere was really tense in an instant. I had no doubt this would explode into a huge argument within seconds.
My brother and I made some lame excuse and got in his car and drove off.

Lol, my mom accidentally shot a flash picture (new camera) of the Constitution and she was so flustered she accidentally stumbled forward towards it
and knocked over the velvet ropes and secret service guys just started magically appearing out of nowhere and detained her.
She was mortified, but they were very nice. They showed her how to turn off her flash. I couldn't stop laughing

I was going into a popular Chinese restaurant a few months ago, around my hometown, and this young girl is working the front. My girlfriend and I were finishing a conversation about our day at the range, and she just pipes in with "can you believe people are allowed to carry guns into this place?! It's absolutely terrifying!" I just looked around (mind you this is a Midwest small town) and said, "I think your the only one here who's worried about that." She just gave me the weirdest look and then seated us lol.

My fiancé was raised by her grandmother, mom is in the picture but she acts like a teenager and her sister rather than her mother. Mother is very selfish, manipulative, has a five year old that she will let anyone watch so she can party and work the night shift at a bar instead of her baby daddy watching the baby (he’s a piece of work too) and when something doesn’t go her way she acts petty and has tantrums. She wants to be a mother when it benefits her. She’s mad at me because I asked my fiancé’s grandmother for her hand in marriage instead of her and she doesn’t understand why I didn’t ask her.

It's a very old, delicate document. It's easily damaged by overexposure to light (like flash photography). Same reason people cover really old paintings except when looking at them.

My fathers new wife has a daughter that gave birth to two children. Lost them due to the system because of drugs etc.
neither of them fought for the kids. But…
now that my brother, (we share both parents) has two beautiful boys. This woman wants to play grandma whenever the babies are around. Mind you, this woman is well off, and just let them go to the system. She just couldn’t be bothered with her own blood, because she was too busy getting married to my dad and clubbing... in their 40’s..
Then acts like grandma of the year around my nephews. Fakest shit Ive ever seen!
She also works all day while my dad milks her for her money and cheats on her.
I haven’t said a thing even-though I have the proof.
