      If you don’t know what your food contains or how it’s being cooked or processed. That’s a red flag. Learn to cook and bake so you’re absolutely sure what ingredients you put into your food.

      Yeah this is such an odd question. All fast food should be avoided, so if you have decided to grab some anyway then might as well get whatever tastes the best to you, it's all nasty and terrible for you. Shouldn't really be considering "what to avoid" if you've already made that leap lol

      How else can it be made? That is basically what gives it its flavor, and I've made both types of the gravy, and ingredient-wise, the use of the sausage and its grease is more nutritious and a much healthier choice, after reading the ingredient list.

      @@thelunchlady8276 i dont know how thats an issue realy, i work there too and the oil doesnt rot when it spends most of its time above 200 degrees, replacing a machine sized vat of oil is not nearly as easy as it looks, and much of the oil gets cycled out and slowly replaced with the donuts absorbing it and replacing at least 200 pounds of it a day just from products and vaporization
      if you wanna know what to never order its the drinks, the store is not equipped to make more than a few drinks at a time and during rushes ordering more than one frozen drink will hold up everything for at least 10 minutes, the front drink mixing staff will not be very well trained in sterilization or cleaning the drink equipment and especially not during busy times

    • @thelunchlady8276

      @@captainbloodloss1 So, what you're saying is: 200 lbs of oil gets cycled out and absorbed (and evaporated) by donuts a day? So, you replace 200 lbs of oil a day? It's funny, I don't remember doing that. Maybe my store was different. Any fryer oil, whatever it's used for, absorbs product and has sediment. When I cleaned the fryers and dumped the nasty oil, it wasn't good. I didn't say anything about rot, you still don't want to use more than three day old oil for donuts. Try one from new grease next time and wait right before you clean the fryers, you'll taste the difference in quality.

    People with horrible food allergies should not really be going to restaurants that deal with high volume. That's just a fact of life. It may hurt some people's feelings to hear that, but going to a restaurant is not a right. Be smart, people.

    • @hannahthomas9507
      @hannahthomas9507 4 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      My friend has a peanut allergy that is potentially deathly, and she goes to restaurants often. She does her research and finds the simplest things that she can eat so she doesn’t have to bother the workers. And she knows what types of oil/utensils/etc... that each restaurant uses so that she only tells them to make her food separately if she really has to. As long as you’re careful and do your research you’ll be fine but I agree that parents shouldn’t be walking up saying “my son has a deathly allergy so don’t kill him”

    • @MsDapsy
      @MsDapsy 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Thanks for this super smart comment! More people with allergies should be aware of the high traffic in those fast food joins and that mistakes can always happen. If I had a deadly allergy I wouldn't think twice about not going to restaurants and stuff, and in the end homemade food tastes better anyway ^^

      I work at a Mexican restaurant and a few days ago, a woman came in and said her son was DEATHLY allergic to cilantro and he also couldn’t have ANY gluten... so she made every employee change their gloves, wipe down the counters with Purell, and open brand new packages of food to prepare her taco bowl. It seems like a lot of effort goes Into making sure it’s safe for your son to eat but there’s always a risk something can accidentally wiggle it’s way into your food and literally almost everything we make has cilantro in it. I feel like it would be easier to just make it at home and eliminate the risk all together. 😐 not to mention, her “taco bowl” was only two ingredients when all was said and done.

I also wonder how many kids are really deathly allergic to food items and how many kids simply have parents who are trying to create drama for attention. on a related note stop eating till your stuffed to the point where you can't stand properly, even if your at an all you can eat buffet or whatever. There's a difference between eating till your full and eating till you can't eat anymore. Even when you stuff yourself up your still going to release the excess. I see a lot of people do this and they think they are getting more value for their money but they're just hurting themselves.

      I get sick about 90% of the time I eat at any restaurant. I'm gluten intolerant and workers are not careful enough about cross contamination. I was at Disney World a few years back and asked for just the burger patty with lettuce and tomatoes (I told them I was gluten intolerant) and they just made a regular burger. When I complained, they just took the burger and just removed the bun... There's no way I'm going to risk sever stomach cramps for days during my vacation.
      I eat out less than once a year... only if there's no way I can bring my own food, and even then, I usually just skip meal. I'd rather go a day without eating than be sick for almost a week.
      Same thing happens when I'm eating at friend's houses or even my parents. They're just not careful enough about cross contamination. If you had wash your dishes, you can't rinse them in a sink of standing water or food particles can stick back on. Even when dishes go through the dishwasher, I hand wash them again before using them so I don't risk making myself sick. The only place I'm safe is my sister's house because she's also celiac and so is one of her kids, so their whole house is gluten free. No risk of contamination.

The chicken when raw felt like more like gelatin and looked mostly pale with areas of blue/purple. When preparing the chicken to be breaded and fried, you take the access fat and rarely have too take off a feather or two. But this "chicken" was just literally a quarter percent of pure fat that was sticky and hard to get off and was sometimes still covered in feathers. But onced cooked they looked similar to the old ones but I never tried to see if they taste the same because of how disgusting it was to handle them, are far as I know they still use the jelly, blue, hairy bags of growth hormones to this day.

    When i was in culinary school, i learned how to make mayonnaise. I also learned that made mayo is supposed to only stay good for about three days if kept under refrigeration. The mayo brands in the super market sit out on shelves un-refrigerated for who knows how long and remain edible.

      Fresh mayo contains raw egg, of course it spoils in like 2/3 days.
      Mayo from stores uses pasteurized eggs, they are sterile. so until the vacuum/seal is broken, no bacteria can get into it. And thats why mayo has such a long shelf live

    I worked in a bakery as my first job, 10th grade. It was disgusting. The worst thing I saw was a rodent, assume it was a mouse, fell from the ceiling, and hit the side of a cake on the way down. The decorator, without missing a beat, which made me wonder how often this happened, just scraped off that area and redid the frosting. So gross.

    Work at Chipotle. Everything we make there is fresh, we cut/chop all the stuff everyday, and all the meats are cooked fresh too. We label all of our stuff with dates. The only thing I’d recommend not buying is the tacos since you can’t fit very much food in them. Get a bowl, it’ll be able to hold twice the amount of food and is so much easier for us to make so we’ll be able to get you out faster.

    The nice thing about our local McDonald's is that the kitchen is right behind the registers so you can see the food as it's getting cooked. Idk about the freshness of the products and the quality of cleaning of the machines, but I've never had any stomach problems after eating there.
    I only occasionally eat there these days and usually only order ice-cream because it's heavenly. The more annoying thing is that years ago when I was just a wee little lass the prices were wayyyyy lower than they are today. A regular ice cream used to cost 50 cents and these days it's like $1.5, and the McFlurry used to cost $2.5 and these days it's $4.40!
    A whole basic meal w/drink+ice-cream can go up to like $22 when years ago it used to cost like half that!

      Dish washing is the thing that screwed me over at my last 2 jobs. I'm used to taking my time and scrubbing my dishes at home and then wipe with a clean towel. At both Barbaritos and Subway they told us to scrub them a bit, dunk them in the sanitizer solution in one sink, then rinse in the other sink. Leave them on the rack to dry.
      I don't care how clean they claim the sanitizer is, the dishes don't feel clean unless they've been scrubbed with some soap and hot water.

Same goes for the dipped cone chocolate. The icecream machine breaks for weeks at a time because it hasn’t been cleaned and sometimes the icecream just goes sour. Sometimes when it’s too hot people sweat on the headsets, it’s nasty. You should see what we clean out of the grease traps, it literally looks like cat throw up.

    This may be almost nothing compared to a lot of these stories, but if you're ever at one of those "Pizza Hut Xpress" locations they sometimes have inside Targets and such. The pizzas are only supposed to be kept on the heating rack for 20 minutes. But since Supremes sell a lot slower than pepperoni and plain cheese, they'll timestamp the supremes 10-20 minutes ahead so they can keep them on the rack longer.
    Even so, when I worked at a food court that did the pizza hut personal pan pizzas, we threw away 2-3 pizzas for every 1 pizza we sold.

    Pretty much anything from subway. Subways vegetable suppliers change regularly because they're constantly looking for the cheapest produce. The tomatoes are rarely ripe, and everything else is on the verge of spoiling. You open a bag of meat and it smells wrong everytime, especially the ham. The bacon even says on the box that its bacon flavored cuts of pork. You're at the mercy of the employees as to whether or not the bread is good. It goes stale relatively fast, and if too much bread gets baked and no on checks it you're bound to get stale bread.
