“Nothing eaten in small portions will make you fat!” THIS! I often buy a large bag of Doritos and it’ll last me at least a week because I eat them in smaller portions now. I lost 30kg this year solely from running in the morning, walking in the afternoon and doing Pilates. My diet did not change once, I just consumed everything in smaller portions and stayed in a calorie deficit. I also don’t eat past 6pm and before 1pm. I love your content! You and Karmalita are the realest people here on TH-cam for anyone who genuinely wants to lose weight without receiving any sugar-coated bs advice. I gained weight when I listened to most TikTok WL advisers because they were all so vague to avoid “offending” people🤦♀️❤
This is solid advice. My mom taught me most of this early on. She would emphasize the importance of sitting down for meals and chewing well and eating slowly. I remember her telling me to take a deep breath, relax, and avoid eating if I was upset. I get why she did this and didn't want me to stress eat. If we were full, the food was saved for another meal. She was forced to eat everything on her plate as a kid until she was sick and bloated so she made a point to never do that to her kids.
That's amazing omg 🥹🩷 Unfortunately my mom raised me the way your mom was raised. Always stuffing me, making me eat HUGE portions and tons of UPFs. That's why now I struggle with portion control and binging. Honestly more people should be like your mom, it would've literally saved my life
Wow you are lucky. My parents put desserts in front of me when I was sad and told me it would make me feel better. If. I was having a rough day at work I would call my mom and she would tell me to find the nearest vending machine and get some chocolate right away.
I love how honest and transparent you are to tell us your go to snacks and what not. So many in the skinny girl community gatekeep and offer no real help or solutions. You’re amazing for this!
I’m a guy who lifts weights, practices martial arts, and likes to stay lean year-round and found Liv’s content accidentally, but also find it helpful. The part about stopping consumption when the junk food no longer tastes good is something we forget about. Her tips are also helpful if I ever get sick of eating high-protein versions of everyday snacks and desserts. I used to be worried about losing progress when going to parties/events or a night out for drinks/dinner, but now I’m reminded of what to do.
A lot of people were concerned about her content but if they actually listened to her, her advice is a very safe and healthy approach to weight loss and just everyday life. They saw a skinner than average woman giving weight loss advice and automatically assumed she was going to teach young girls how to starve themselves.

To everyone saying she's promoting an unhealthy lifestyle let me tell you something, I had an eating disorder for so long I used to eat unhealthy amount of junk food then starve myself for days (even tho im skinny). I've been watching liv's videos and other health related videos for a while now. I've been eating so healthy lately. I focus on eating healthy and clean foods instead of focusing on my calories. Focusing on healthy food automatically reduces over eating and binging. I go on 30 minutes walking everyday. I study 12hrs a day and sleep for 8hrs. Healthy lifestyle ≠ eating disorder. Thank you liv for motivating me everyday to be my best self and be super productive. Lovee you queen ❤❤❤
The realest thing I have watched in a long while. I lost 33 pounds during the summer by starving myself because I did not know about portion control and guess what happened: I gained it all back because I returned to eating big portions. If you binge a lot, I recommend a waist trainer so you realise your fullness cue earlier. Also drink a lot of water, tea or coffee. And drink it hot. Maybe tea/water with apple cider vinegar. Set yourself up for success with healthy options all around the house or prepping food for outside
As an extremely picky eater that already orders off the kids menu, the portions are still a lot for me to finish. I also am a member of the clean your plate club, so thank you so much for the portion reminders! ❤ I need to remember this when I feel full

I’ve lost 20kg since April 2023 and now I have 5kg left to reach my goal weight of 55kg and I’m aiming to do that by the end of the year! The weight loss gets slower the closer I get to my goal but each kilo I lose now is so much more noticeable, the toilet paper analogy is so real! I lost the weight by eating boiled eggs and coffee during the day (no sugar in the coffee, a little milk) and then having a balanced dinner with good portion control and dark chocolate for dessert and I walked ALOT. I had some periods of maintenance because I’m a busy student so I can’t be super focused on weight loss all the time but I made sure to be careful not to regain. I’ve never lost weight long term like this before in my life and I really feel like something just clicked for me and I’m so proud of myself and this has been a huge boost of my confidence because now I know I can do anything I put my mind to.
I'm American living in Europe and have kept 40lbs off for 7yrs now. The Europeans use a lot of fresh ingredients in small portions. They also bicycle and walk way more. My fridge and freezer is full of leftovers. Whenever I go back home I barely eat because the chemicals are obvious and the portions are massive. I think America culturally is still in a state of scarcity from hundreds of years ago when food was very hard to come by and families had to load up because they never knew when their next meal was going to be. Europe is also adopting tons of American fast food, so they will be changing in the next 50 years as well. New to your channel and love it I still wanna lose more weight.
I was explaining the epidemic of African Americans dying from Obesity every year and how 4 out of 5 African American Women are Obese to my Grandma and she told me “how are you prejudice to your own people, that’s not a nice thing to say” and I was like well it’s true. America does have an obesity problem and it really does not look like it’s stopping anytime soon. Which is very sad.
The thing is not every person of African descent is automatically overweight or obese. People used to be thinner because the food was better. Lots of people on the African continent are either average or slim
@@iamataldiyeah you are right lots of people in Africa are skinny but I think it’s the portion of food. In America the portions are insane and everything is supersized so it’s easy to over eat. Also in Africa I know my cousins walk around so they get their steps in. It’s a combination of things really.
I’m a 15 year old girl in Highschool and I’ve been confident about my body for a while I weight 127 pounds and I’m 5’2 ft tall so I’m not too skinny but I’m not too chubby or overweight- (I’ve lost abt 45 pounds) I mainly just want to be healthy and an example to other girls who wanna feel their best !! 😼 I’ve always loved health and when I see how normalized it is with girls my age to be COMPLETELY restricting their diets to a crazy extent, it makes me really sad 😭 because I genuinely want to express to them that they can be healthy and skinny without having to resort to not long-lasting and unhealthy ways. Livs videos have helped me so much to achieving my goal and they just really motivate me even more 💕 I hope all of you get the healthy body you dream of !!!
This is such good sense. European portions are the correct size one should be eating. I grew up with sensible parents who served us relatively small portions, if we were still hungry, nwe could have more. When I grew up and started going out to eat, I was amazed at the size of the portion. I would eat half and take the rest home as a takeaway for another meal
These tips remind me of that book “Why French Women Don’t Get Fat” what a gem ✨ Pre-gaming with protein, sharing your food and ordering kiddie portions are tips I’m incorporating now. Love love love the content and this style of video 💕
Yasss I’ve lost 12lbs so far 10lbs to go!! Love your videos girl thank you for the tips! I also noticed me eating healthy is a different type of full….a “satisfied” full that I had to get use to instead of the “stuffed” full when I was so used to feeling that way if that makes sense.
I'm Aussie, and I just came home from 2 weeks in America. I have a really good relationship with my hunger cues and am very good at understanding when I'm having a craving and when it's gone - if I only want a single bite of a cookie, I will stop after that bite and give it to someone else. My trip was to Atlanta, Georgia, for my friend's wedding. My boyfriend and I had heard of a lot of American foods so we made a list of different places we wanted to try that we don't have at home, like Taco Bell and Popeye's, but we also like to cook so we used Amazon Fresh for groceries as we didn't want to drive on American streets. Side note, we also thought how unwalkable most of America is without good public transport was an exaggeration, but there really were next to no footpaths even in Atlanta Proper. I will never take Melbourne's walkability and strong public transport for granted again. So when I went to America, I started off, firstly, shocked by the huge portions (you're right about American portions actually being double or triple - my Chick-fil-A salad lasted me 3 meals) and the ingredients in a lot of the normal food (so much corn syrup????). The lack of consistent, clear nutritional info labels was genuinely upsetting. But I thought, it's fine because at least I can listen to my body. Nope! By Day 10 I had genuinely lost any ability to hear my body's cues. The last days were so miserable because I was eating and eating but nothing felt satisfying and I was so hungry it actually took an emotional toll. My boyfriend was shocked because he has never seen me like that in the 6 years he's known me. I'm a medical student so I'm well aware of the biopsychosocial factors around obesity, especially as American healthcare was one of my focal research topics in my first two years of med school. However, knowing vs. experiencing is a whole different ball game - after this trip, I truly UNDERSTAND why lower to middle class Americans struggle. We had Aussie nutritional sensibilities to protect us but nothing can ultimately stop subpar food quality designed to keep you hungry, lack of walkable grocery stores in reach forcing you to be sedentary and rely on fast food for an easy meal, and just the sheer amount of sodium! I left for this trip weighing 53kg - I came back weighing 58kg!!! I gained 4kg of water weight during this trip (again, only 2 weeks!!!) and when I came home I had developed cankles from all the water retention! It took 3 days of normal food and walking to piss the 4kg and the cankles off but at least it's gone now. 1kg I believe is actual weight from a calorie surplus but I don't care as it will come off naturally and it's just 1kg.
Hi there! Along the lines of the buffet point that you made, look at the cart in front of you at the grocery store/super market and then at the waistline of the person rolling it. I agree with everything you said, thank you for this great video ❤
Pubs and a few restaurants in the UK have started putting their calories in their menus and it’s truly an eye opener. You’re right, it’s like 700-1200 calories for not that much food (or too much chips/fries).
38:15 yesss. I honestly noticed as soon as I started cooking for myself. Took out 1 serving of spaghetti and realized how small it was... its definitely x4 servings at restos like you said. Anyone home right now , check what 1 serving of spaghetti in your pantry actually look like if you need a wake up call
i love you on youtube, love hearing your mindset..what you think about, how you think about food (makes me realize how abnormally obsessed w food i was)
I really love your videos. You're so real and motivating. I'm actually getting healthier after struggling for years to get back into my diet routine. (Ive been overweight my whole life and lost the weight 4 years ago but then had severe surgery and gained all back). Your videos give me motivation to keep going again.
Love this! Wonderful advice regarding events/going out to eat -I tend to get a lot of food anxiety around parties, etc. I think these tips are really going to help me ❤ thanks liv
Wake up. Have a large mug of broth with lemon and salt. Nourish instead of caffeinate. Add unflavored protein to the hot mug of broth. Use creatine & glutamine to curb cravings and retain vitamins + minerals. Have tons of tofu cubes (or whatever your chosen protein is) & raw veggies and unlimited water rich fruit for breakfast and lunch. Always have protein and fat in the day before a party at night.❤❤❤
Can someone recommend more channels like liv’s? I only know a couple but I’d love suggestions. The tips are super helpful and I love this content. Keep it coming girl 💓
12:20 they don’t look obsessed but they are restricting and try to maintain an active lifestyle but trust me skinny is a requirement especially in Paris
Would love to hear more about your shift in mindset and the changes you've seen throughout your weight loss journey (opportunities, way people treat you etc) 💗
I share small plates with my boyfriend all the time he orders multiple small plates and we just eat and taste the best parts of the menu. I find it so nice we experience the food together I'm in Europe btw and even I think the portions here are massive so I can't imagine America
As a non-american girl currently visiting Florida, I can confirm that American portion sizes are ridiculously big and why is everything covered in neon orange cheese 😭
Honestly a lot of food choice in America comes down to how expensive/wealthy that area or restaurant is - iceberg lettuce vs spring greens, orange (fake) cheese vs real cheese (or even something aged etc). I don’t eat at restaurants with trashy food, but I also don’t have a lot of extra money so I don’t eat out much! Also food can be cultural in America - good food can be seen as snobby by some people, but like I think it can be generational too - I’m a millennial and we all cared about what we ate, even when we were broke college students who could barely afford rent and food!
Bethennys book naturally thin is totally in print lol, but even she did not coin that phrase. I first heard it in an old book called the 7 secrets of slim people out of print but on Amazon. One of my favorite books and many strategies other books copy honestly.
If you pair protein with fiber when you pre-game you will feel even more full. Like you could have a small salad or cut up veggies with some meat and/or cheese before a party. If you just eat protein you won't be as full as you would be with that combination.
Portion control isn’t viable for a lot of Americans because we’re lazy. Instead, I eat a specific way. I eat a huge portion of beef and vegetables and salsa and avocado and pour some of the cooked beef fat all over it. I only have that one meal. It keeps me satiated until I eat again the next day. I haven’t had carbs or sugar/ junk food for the past 7 months. I dropped 12 sizes and 95 lbs. I don’t even exercise but my muscles have gained serious weight. I can curl 50lbs now and I couldn’t even do 20lbs before this change. You’re correct in your approach to your diet and I agree it can totally work for some people. One thing I would change is your protein shakes. Full animal meatness with the fat is going to benefit everything from your satiety to your beautiful skin and hair. I hope this helps balance your diet a little bit better.
If you haven’t read Bethenny’s book Naturally Thin that’s actually insane because a lot of what you’re saying is verbatim what’s in that book. No hate at all it’s just wild how aligned your strategies are
I would listen to you if you made a podcast but honestly I love the TH-cam video format more 😊 If you put all your tik tok videos on here in shorts, that would be so lovely and helpful!
10:08 Volume control. Even if it’s healthy for you don’t over indulge. Its sickening. It reminds me of those enormous salads 🥗 I did that once when I was vegan and I ended up in the ER for eating a lb of kale.
Can you please talk more about or make a separate video about peer pressure, family/friend influence, tips, etc. (what you were talking about here 32:54)
I'd say it's mostly about not caring too much. "No" is a complete sentence. If they want excuses, say you've brushed your teeth, you're full, more thirsty than hungry or you'll probably have something else
i’m from london and honestly american portions scare me the ingredients in the food are absolutely insane i really wanted to visit new york but i’m gonna have to be so so careful going out to eat lmao
Also from London 💞 if you're going to the US, either split your meal or order a kids meal or both lol I'm gonna try doing the same thing here: kids or small meal only
The American portion sizes are so real. I live in southeast Asia, and when I visited my relatives in the States, I gained 20 lbs bc the portion sizes in that country are crazy
So true! I LOVE McDonalds apple pies but I don’t care for the burgers or drinks etc. it occurred to me I can go and get the apple pies and that’s it. No need to eat a crappy burger and fries when I just want the pie.
Love these chatty videos! I don’t think you need to make a podcast, these are great as is. Also, I feel so called out cause I was in fact on the treadmill. Lol
LMAOOO the chair part got me. But Honestly as somone who has been overweight most of her life I appriciate this video. people need to get out of their victim mindset
I could go into a huge thing about why America went from skinny to fat, But it would be at LEAST a video in itself. So I will tell a story instead. I went to a museum a couple of years ago this museum was a "Day in the life of people in the area" type of museum. It was around Thanksgiving, So the event was centered around eating. They started in the 1800s and went up to the present day. What got my attention the most was the size of the plates. Long story Short. The dinner plate size of our grandparents and great-grandparents was equal to what we have now as a salad plate. Our current dinner plate size is what your Great Grandmother would have called a Serving platter. Side note, The average size of a dinner plate in Europe is often 20% smaller than a dinner plate in the USA.
I can give my 2 cents worth. I lost around 13 kg in 4 months. I only did heavy weight training - 7 kg for biceps and shoulders and 4 kg for triceps. I used 20 kg for loaded squats 30 kg for deadlifts. I ate my normal portions ( not big) I started loosing around the 2nd month. By the end of the 3rd month i lost 10 kg and around 13-15 kg by end of 5th month. I am not here to promote my channel I can give the honest truth. Eat normally lift heavy 3 times a week and you will always be in calorie deficit. I did 30 min weight training 3-4 times a week at home during lockdown. I was 50 years at the time. Thats that.
i'm from belgium . when i first met my husband in january last year in the US i was SHOCKED how much food i would get on my plate plus everything was fried too like there was literally no option to eat the non-fried version of it. my weight was 48 kg, when i came back i was 5 kgs heavier after just three weeks never lost it anymore and just gained 12 kgs in the end i am back to 55 kg but still i need to lose some more!
the sharing is caring is so true ! whenever i go out with my man i gave him at least 1/3 of my plate! i'm 5'0 so if i eat a full 1300 cal plate im actually in a calorie surplus so f that lol! Plus like you said its sexyyy! he loves when i feed him food 💕 I also live in Canada and when we go to the states we do see 'whales and pigs'.. Its actually scary and heartbreaking honestly. Ive seen some ppl so big it looked like 2 or 3 people glued together. its sad that their family isnt intervening, its a disorder.... 😢
Won't it be seen as rude in a restaurant? I think fine dining restaurants make small portions so people don't share and instead pay for two separate orders
Africans eat incredibly well! Truly. Africans eat fresh fruit and vegetables and very little carbs usually and if they eat carbs it's like whole grains and meat is also like a little portion of like chicken of beef...
I don’t understand why portion control is a controversial subject to all the haters but yet all those people who post mukbangs eating 4 cheeseburgers in 5 minutes is okay 🙄… Thank you for your advice I totally agree! It’s all mindset and not letting food pleasure consume you!
honestly fasting the whole day before an event actually helps me NOT gain weight. I know that I would overeat even if i ate before the event (i tried), so fasting is a tool to me to not have excess calories during the day. But i understand it's not for everyone... i think you should do what works for you

I’m from Africa and it’s not true. Africans honestly eat a lot where I’m from but we are very active. Americans are so lazy and that’s why
You go girl!!
These tips remind me of that book “Why French Women Don’t Get Fat” what a gem ✨
Pre-gaming with protein, sharing your food and ordering kiddie portions are tips I’m incorporating now.
Love love love the content and this style of video 💕
I hope you never stop posting because your tips are so good and so straightforward
REALLL like before I would eating 5 slices of pizza without feeling anything, but now I eat a bowl of streamed carrots and I’m full for the day.
I love this format sit and talk while I get my steps in!
Hi there! Along the lines of the buffet point that you made, look at the cart in front of you at the grocery store/super market and then at the waistline of the person rolling it. I agree with everything you said, thank you for this great video ❤
Yayyy. Please don’t stop posting.
Pubs and a few restaurants in the UK have started putting their calories in their menus and it’s truly an eye opener. You’re right, it’s like 700-1200 calories for not that much food (or too much chips/fries).
And the alcohol is also so much
38:15 yesss. I honestly noticed as soon as I started cooking for myself. Took out 1 serving of spaghetti and realized how small it was... its definitely x4 servings at restos like you said. Anyone home right now , check what 1 serving of spaghetti in your pantry actually look like if you need a wake up call
please keep posting on this topic!!! THEY CAN NEVER MAKE ME HATE YOUU
Loved this vid. I could listen to you talk about the skinny lifestyle for hours❤
So glad I found this channel🧚🏾♀️✨
i love you on youtube, love hearing your mindset..what you think about, how you think about food (makes me realize how abnormally obsessed w food i was)
Omg please this is literally what I play before I sleep at night , podcast please x
Love this long format chatty type of video!
Dying for you to make a podcast love love the content
Omg protein in soups is smart. I have unflavored pea protein
Please don’t ever stop posting ❤
Can someone recommend more channels like liv’s? I only know a couple but I’d love suggestions. The tips are super helpful and I love this content. Keep it coming girl 💓
Karmalita Fox. I listen to her everyday. She tells it like it is but is also really fun. She's on youtube
Whitney Holcombe and my fave is Karmalita Fox
@@samanthaboston7759 so so true. Karmalita is a gem 🥰
Yesssss those too and exoticals, blunt girly are good too🎉
I want friends that would be willing to share for this purpose.
Also assuming you’re forcing a grown man to starve himself is crazy.
We need more of these videos on TH-cam . Sure , I don’t mind a podcast. But please do more talking videos on TH-cam !!!!!!
If people feel bad about wasting food they can always take it to go and reheat it tomorrow that is why we have microwaves.
And toaster ovens.
Love your content!!!! So realistic and helpful, keep going!
12:20 they don’t look obsessed but they are restricting and try to maintain an active lifestyle but trust me skinny is a requirement especially in Paris
Most or all of Europe.
I’ve already lost weight with your advice! Thank you for the motivation ❤
Would love to hear more about your shift in mindset and the changes you've seen throughout your weight loss journey (opportunities, way people treat you etc) 💗
Yah I agree. The salads don’t need to be massive just because it’s healthy. I’m not sitting there eating 6 cups of salad. It’s too much
we need a podcast !! to listen to on longgggg 10k step walks
I share small plates with my boyfriend all the time he orders multiple small plates and we just eat and taste the best parts of the menu. I find it so nice we experience the food together
I'm in Europe btw and even I think the portions here are massive so I can't imagine America
I love your videos!💖✨I love listening to them at work or on my morning walks✨
I love her honesty in these videos. Pls make more everyday vlogs as well as the skinni videos. Love youuu 🎀
As a non-american girl currently visiting Florida, I can confirm that American portion sizes are ridiculously big and why is everything covered in neon orange cheese 😭
frr i was blown away by the portions. three of us shared one dish
I hate our portions. It’s literally a huge part of the problem. Chemical cheap food of course doesn’t help.
Podcast could be great but ngl my fav vids are tank top vids like this one… your arms are inspiring 🥳
If you just eat protein you won't be as full as you would be with that combination.
yesss liv, i loved this podcast style video !! living for being able to put in my earbuds and listen to you while i work
Your videos are incredibly helpful. I have made habit changes in the last two weeks. Thanks.😊
This is golden advice
Better to waste than to waist 🙂↔️
If saving food is important, then just buy less. Saves money and your figure
I love your content. I don't understand the hate you get, you just spill the truth ❤
1 cup of pasta with 1/2 cup of meat Marinara is around 300-400 calories. Good filling meal.
And then add a huge helping a vegetables on the side that will help fill you up. One cup of pasta is very small
@ I agree!!! Salad/veg is very full of fiber and totally helps keep you full when you add it to carbs and protein!
I completely agree with sharing food. When I go out with my fiancé, or even my girl friends, we always share the appetizers and the dessert.
I love how real you are. You tell it like it is💞
This is solid advice 👏
vlog with what you do on a regular day in terms of food and workouts and stuff would be cool, like just a normal day for you
Love your videos on point with potion control and get real Whole Foods!
You don’t even eat carbs… nobody wants ur advice lol we came 4 liv
If you haven’t read Bethenny’s book Naturally Thin that’s actually insane because a lot of what you’re saying is verbatim what’s in that book. No hate at all it’s just wild how aligned your strategies are
I would listen to you if you made a podcast but honestly I love the TH-cam video format more 😊
If you put all your tik tok videos on here in shorts, that would be so lovely and helpful!
You should give tips on how to maintain your weight after you lost weight
10:08 Volume control.
Even if it’s healthy for you don’t over indulge. Its sickening. It reminds me of those enormous salads 🥗
I did that once when I was vegan and I ended up in the ER for eating a lb of kale.
Also from London 💞 if you're going to the US, either split your meal or order a kids meal or both lol
I'm gonna try doing the same thing here: kids or small meal only
@ thank you 💓 i definitely will do that!
Wow everything you said 🙌🙌🙌
Love these chatty videos! I don’t think you need to make a podcast, these are great as is. Also, I feel so called out cause I was in fact on the treadmill. Lol
LMAOOO the chair part got me. But Honestly as somone who has been overweight most of her life I appriciate this video. people need to get out of their victim mindset
girl i appreciate u so much love this content
I ate my normal portions ( not big)
I started loosing around the 2nd month.
Love listening while going for my walks
the sharing is caring is so true ! whenever i go out with my man i gave him at least 1/3 of my plate! i'm 5'0 so if i eat a full 1300 cal plate im actually in a calorie surplus so f that lol!
This video is a goldmine
I don’t understand why portion control is a controversial subject to all the haters but yet all those people who post mukbangs eating 4 cheeseburgers in 5 minutes is okay 🙄…
Thank you for your advice I totally agree! It’s all mindset and not letting food pleasure consume you!
The long form videos are such a treeeat 💖💖💖 but yes a podcast would be amazing!!
you're an angel for sharing
honestly fasting the whole day before an event actually helps me NOT gain weight. I know that I would overeat even if i ate before the event (i tried), so fasting is a tool to me to not have excess calories during the day. But i understand it's not for everyone... i think you should do what works for you
I feel like this is advice from best friend's older sister that I ADMIRE
