It's difficult to realize that this song is almost 25 years old. I vividly remember this iconic period of time in 1997, being 24-25 years old, feeling like it would last forever. This song was etched in my mind as it was played often along with the other popular one she did. It almost feels like a different world now; one I wouldn't mind going back to.

When Robyn came out, I was working in Top-40 radio and the listeners lit up the request line for this song and "Do You Know". Mid-90's to early 2000's was the last of radio's 'glory days' . Glad I got to play this song and be a part of that fun time.

For a different perspective, almost all I heard in the 90's was the opposite of "happy"...upbeat pop like this was at a minimum until the late 90's with the boy bands. There was a *huge* influx of negative music that came about in the early 90's, esp when compared to all the positive music of the 80's. Mainly in the grunge and rap genres. And it was marketed and sold like crazy. Consciousness plunged in the 90's folks; go back and listen to something like James Brown in the late 60's, the musicianship was off-the-charts, and it was fun pop-ish dance music. It became cheaper and easier to hire programmers, and the music has suffered ever since, with just a few exceptions. This song is fun, has great production, but is also very minimal (very Max Martin). Just saying the 90's really offered piddle in comparison to the energy of the 60's through 80's. IMO, the toilet was flushed in exactly 1990.
The Clinton years 1992- 2000 were the most peaceful viz what came before and after.

I am 43 and I could literally overdose on nostalgia. The 90's was the last decade where there was still an innocence to life. They had the best movies, tv, and music. I sometimes sit and just close my eyes and go back to this time on my mind...just immersing myself in all the memories. I cry a lot just yearning for those days that I can never get back. The world is such a 💩show today and I just wish I could be a kid again. Just wanting to relive all those precious times 😢. I thank God for TH-cam...one of the only online platforms I really look at. This song IS love. 25 years ago I was in a 15 year marriage (age 21 when married). I was unhappy and sad. Drove the car around washington dc listening to this cd. It was this song that let me know I needed out...and I did... Just celebrated my 24th anniversary with the love of my life and still so happy and very much in love! Show me love, that IS what its all about. Thank you for the help I needed when I needed it most.

I was 9 when this song came out. I liked it, but not so much that I begged for the CD or anything. However, now that I'm a mid-30s adult? This is one of the few standalone pop songs from that era I consistently come back to, even if I'm not in the mood for a whole trip down 1997 memory lane. Unlike many other songs during this period, I don't associate "Show Me Love" with any specific memory, yet the entire vibe of the song gives me all the warm and fuzzies for that time in my life. The melody is sentimental and sweet, there are moments throughout that still feel unexpected with each listen even though I've heard it thousands of times, and it's full of little touches and subtle sound effects that elevate it from what could've been a generic throwaway to a genuinely excellent pop song. Off the top of my head, the only other pop song to also do this so successfully is "King of Wishful Thinking" by Go West. Anyway, I never appreciated what a gem "Show Me Love" is until a few years ago and apparently I could write a whole ass dissertation on how I feel about it. Can anyone else relate to what I've described, even if it's not specifically this song? If it's a different one, I would love to hear what other songs (especially from the '90s) you're this uniquely passionate about.

Let’s show some love to the absolutely ICONIC and super successful Swedish producer of this song, Max Martin. He wrote/co-wrote/produced many of the HUGE pop hits of the 90s… including Britney’s “Baby One More Time.” Max Martin had a very signature, recognizable sound. Often when we say we like a particular artist (like Robyn), what we’re unconsciously responding to is the production.
Many artists produce their own music (like Prince, just to name one). But the disposable, catchy pop hits nearly always had a separate producer.
