Born in '88, sister born in '82. Sister committed suicide last fall. 90s music has a special place in my heart because it takes me back to a time before any major troubles in either of our lives. And I love my sister always forever.
@@farlord9264 I thought the same but, it can also be this "." or... A period of time. My girlfriend at the time loved this song. I thought it was only okay, but I have so much more appreciation for it now.The two of us with blue eyes, we really liked the line "you've got, the most unbelievable blue eyes, I've ever seen", and we would sing that to each other. 27 years have passed, in that time she and I have gotten married, and now our two girls have left the house to start their own lives. 1996. I bought this cassette tape for my high school sweetheart at kmart. She liked the song and said it reminded her of me. She had a cassette deck in her car and I was envious because I only had an AM/FM radio in mine. I have to admit the 17 year old me thought this song was lame. Now it seems magical, because it reminds me of a time when I was young and I had all the time in the world, there was so much opportunity in front of me, my parents were alive and well, life was simple....I miss those days. I'll never be able to be that care free again. I still think about the girl I bought this cassette for almost daily, even though we haven't talked in 20 years. When you're 17 you think life will go on forever, but when you're 40, you know there is a finality to everything. I guess that's part of the nostalgia and why everything from the 90's seems better.
I heard this song for the first time a month ago while shopping at the mall. When I tell ypu it was stuck in my head for that full month, I mean every single day. It was driving me crazy not knowing the name of the song and only remembering the beautiful tune. I didn't know any of the lyrics so I couldn't type anything in Google. I was just humming it, and my dad says to me, "Will ya stop with the Donna Lewis?" I 'bout cried thanking him.
It is one of those songs that is so fantastically easy to get stuck in your head. I've even found myself rapping out the beat on the back of someone's seat while on the bus.
My mom used to sing this to me and when she would sing the "you have the most beautiful blue eyes I've ever seen" she would look at me and sing it with a smile. I just remember her looking at me like i was just the best thing in the world and feeling warm and dipped in love for my mommy. This song came on the radio the other day and i was in the car with my daughter. I told my daughter (4) how my mom would sing it to me and it was my special song and now I'm gonna sing it to her and it will be hers. Then I sang that part to her just like my mom did and it was so sweet, she got all teary and held my hand while I sang the rest of it to her.
I'm 65 years old and this song transcends generations for me. And I'm a Classic Rock dude! I love the lyrics, the vocals, the piano, the video, and the beauty of the performer. She's gorgeous

I asked my mother who passed away in November to play me song . Play me any song so I know you’re here … this song is what played …. I know she’s always near
The 90's were the best! The music, movies you name it. There were no cell phones, no computers, kids actually played outside and teenagers met up at their local mall to hang out. I graduated 1990 and that era by far was the greatest time in my life by far
Olders humans commenting the 90s where better yet look at these shit times we are living in due to the pass . But the future is bright if we change are horrific pass history along with current horrific history that the govermeants keep trying to delete the History on.
I agree with all these comments for sure I’m 30 and loved the 90s I agree kids used to talk to family members back then too instead of being obsessed with iPads and iPhones. Miss the 90s life was more fun and normal then and more bearable. Yeah we had more nicer people left then too !
My mom passed away December 2023 and this was the first song that played on the radio when I went back to work that first day. This will always be special ❤️
This brings me back to being in the backseat of my mom and her best friends car on the way to the beach in L.A. Sun ☀️ on my face and my hand hanging out the window ❤️ RIP mom!!
I love how these songs provide so much nostalgia for all the people who were kids in the '90s. They were the soundtrack to our childhood! I am fortunate enough to only have good feelings when I think of that time.
A little about the story of how I came across this song: It was 1998 and I was a 7 year old falling asleep in the car on the drive back home through the hills of Uganda, this song plays in the background and it's the last thing I remember before I fall asleep. A few years later and obsession grows, I don't know the name of the song. I search all the CD's we had back then but to no avail. Years go by and at 2010 I make another attempt, I listen to the Chart toppers from the 80's onward, I scout forums and also try humming this song to my band mates, but nobody knows. I resort to the fact that I may I never find it. Today as I was searching for another classic, I saw this song. I just played it to check it out as I've never heard of this song. I forward it to the chorus and it hits me, this is that same exact song. Took me 21 years, but I've found it.
Same sort of thing happened to me with Eric Clapton's "My Father's Eyes" literally yesterday. I had just a vague memory stuck in my head for years of the guitar riff and how the chorus sounded like it was sung by a choir. I thought it was maybe an R&B song, I also thought the chorus was "look into another life", obviously I got nowhere with that. Then, last night I was out with a friend and the song comes on in the restaurant. I think I shazamed it like 3 times before I accepted that it was actually an Eric Clapton song I was looking for this whole time 😂

This is one of my favorite songs. My daughter grew up listening to classic rock and pop music and she fell in love with this song, too. She told me that she wanted to dance with me to this song on her wedding day. This spring, I danced with my beautiful daughter as she was a new bride on her happiest day. This song is so much my daughter! Every time I hear it, I see her, full of happiness, beauty and purity!
This song makes you feel like anything is possible. Shoutout to all the millennials and 80s kids. We went through a time of hope and happiness we will NEVER get back again.
This and The Cranberries’ Linger make me feel like I’m a child in the 90’s again going to school and the mall on weekends playing Gen 1 Pokemon games on Gameboy Color.
With you on everything but the Gen 1 Pokemon thing❤ Mine would have to conclude with listening to Tori Amos drinking coffee and Tate Street coffee. The difference is and still love Jesus Christ all the eternity and Tori was on some other stuff but her piano was beautiful :-) had to add that. 😊Anyway the 90s were something totally different - a whole different life and different world at least on the seeable surface ( darkness has always been there- just not so sick and painfully blatant as it is today).... Those days are gone.... but hey, let's be so glad we had it❤❤❤❤
There was no better time to grow up than the 1990's. I know many people say that about their era but there was something truly special about the 1990's. The culture then was so relaxed and carefree. I often say I wish I could go back to those days. But what is the point? We lived it and what we have left are memories. We should be grateful for that alone.
sky62125 I was lucky enough to live through both decades and although the 80s were amazing for kids, it was a horrible place for adults with Thatcher at the helm........The 90s were different, you knew times were changing and things were happening........The 90s were special!!!! For everyone but especially the youth.
I'm a guy - and a blokey sort of guy, but i really like this song. Growing up in the 90s was awesome. Kids these days will never understand the music we grew up with.
Damn those were the days, 14 years old and watching this all the time on MTV. Boy have time's changed, there will never be great music like this again. Long live the 80s and 90s.
What a beautiful voice this woman has, I dedicate this to my sisters who are in Heaven, Stephanie, Dana, and my two brothers Scott and Spiro, miss all of you
I remember my mom playing this song all the times at the trips to my grandmother. The big electric generating windmills glowing red in the dark of the night. Me sitting next to my sleeping sister in the backseat of the old car my mom was driving on the autobahn. I always dreamed about going on an adventure through the night I could see through the windows. It is moments like these that I love the most about my childhood. Feeling as if everything is fine, nothing will change and seeing the dark trees on the side of the street come and go... Someday I will go on a journey through the night and do the things I always dreamed about as a child stuck in this car. When this happens I will listen to this song
I had lots of moments like this as a kid in the back seat of my parents car and just traveling and listening to old rock songs. some of my favorite times
This song instantaneously takes me back to middle school , I remember the bus driver always having music playing and this song was always on. The power of music that it can take you back to a memory or time in your life.
Beautiful Donna Lewis !.......I just know that my sweet departed partner brought this gorgeous song to me today !!! I love, love, LOVE you sweet Chuck , ......always and forever ! 🩵💙🩵💙🩵💙🩵💙🩵🙏
The song takes me back to the time when I did my military service. I've never been into this kind of music, but during that year I was introduced to it by other conscripts. I recall sitting in a tent in the mountains, guarding the fire while the others slept and the snow was falling down outside. Then suddenly this was played on the radio. Funny how music invokes vivid memories.
Every now and then a song seems to arrive from nowhere which changes almost everything, fresh, free from hype and memorable. For me this is one of those, just remembered it after years and so grateful I did, Stu X
This came out the same year I met my husband (22/7/96) & tomorrow is our 25th wedding anniversary(22/7/23). We have 3 amazing children too (23,21 & 19) So blessed.❤
Lyrics: Feels like I'm standing in a timeless dream Of light mists with pale amber rose Feels like I'm lost in a deep cloud of heavenly scent Touching, discovering you Those days of warm rains come rushing back to me Miles of windless summer nights (Summer nights) Secret moments shared within the heat of the afternoon Out of the stillness, soft spoken words Say it, say it again I love you always forever Near or far, closer together Everywhere I will be with you Everything I will do for you Say it, say it again I love you always forever Near or far, closer together Everywhere I will be with you Everything I will do for you You've got... The most unbelievable blue eyes I've ever seen You've got... Me almost melting away As we lay there Under a blue sky with pure white stars Exotic sweetness A magical time Say it, say it again I love you always forever Near or far, closer together Everywhere I will be with you Everything I will do for you (Say it, say it again) I love you always forever Near or far, closer together Everywhere I will be with you Everything I will do for you Say you'll love and love me forever Never stop, never whatever Near and far and always everywhere and everything Say you'll love and love me forever Never stop, never whatever Near and far and always everywhere and everything Say you'll love and love me forever Never stop, never whatever Near and far and always everywhere and everything Say you'll love and love me forever Never stop, never whatever Near and far and always everywhere and everything I love you always forever Near or far, closer together Everywhere I will be with you Everything I will do for you I love you always forever Near or far, closer together Everywhere I will be with you Everything I will do for you I love you always forever Near or far, closer together Everywhere I will be with you Everything I will do for you I love you always forever
I like the way you describe this song, "hauntingly nostalgic" excellent choice of words". Spot on friend. I just couldn't describe the feelings of blissful joy hearing this song again and again in stereo surround. just pure bliss.
As someone born the year this song was released, I spent the first decade of my life growing up to my parents’ music, spanning between the 1970s to 1990s. “I Love You Always Forever” was one of many that stood out from that era, based on its upbeat tempo, Donna Lewis’ youthful, breathy voice, and impeccable songwriting.
This song came out around late 90's when my step mom has just passed. It was just me, my dad and my two little nephews in the house. I remember how different home was after that. I heard this song the first time on the way to work. I LOVE this song. The ending part feels like my step mom telling me " I love you always forever" R.i.p. Freida I love you always forever.

Jade Elizabeth same happened to me.. Listened while shopping. Luckily able to search lyrics to find song 😊
I heard this song when I was having a bad day a work it just came on and I cryed and I had an easy time going to sleep when I got home
It is one of those songs that is so fantastically easy to get stuck in your head. I've even found myself rapping out the beat on the back of someone's seat while on the bus.
This story was the most satisfying thing I've read all month 😂😂😂😂
LMAO
SO BEAUTIFUL 😍 💖 💗

I’m so glad I was 15 when this was released. Now I’m almost 41. 90’s were truly the best time to be a teenager
I just turned 20 last month and I can say that I wish I was a teen in the 90s… Teen flicks and music from that period was just different!
@@bapsnatchedmywig yes it was there was more love more from people people still cared you really didn't hear of fake people it was a different world
The 90's were the best!

A little about the story of how I came across this song:
It was 1998 and I was a 7 year old falling asleep in the car on the drive back home through the hills of Uganda, this song plays in the background and it's the last thing I remember before I fall asleep.
Well , i wished to you good listing after a tired of 21 years
*SOMETHING LIKE THAT HAPPENED TO ME WITH*
*THE SONG: "SAD EYES" BY BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN.*
Wow 😮 This story is awesome
Same sort of thing happened to me with Eric Clapton's "My Father's Eyes" literally yesterday. I had just a vague memory stuck in my head for years of the guitar riff and how the chorus sounded like it was sung by a choir. I thought it was maybe an R&B song, I also thought the chorus was "look into another life", obviously I got nowhere with that. Then, last night I was out with a friend and the song comes on in the restaurant. I think I shazamed it like 3 times before I accepted that it was actually an Eric Clapton song I was looking for this whole time 😂
that's not a LITTLE story
Listening in September 2024? Will NEVER stop loving this song…goosebumps EVERY time 💕

Mine would have to conclude with listening to Tori Amos drinking coffee and Tate Street coffee.
There was no better time to grow up than the 1990's. I know many people say that about their era but there was something truly special about the 1990's. The culture then was so relaxed and carefree.
I often say I wish I could go back to those days. But what is the point? We lived it and what we have left are memories. We should be grateful for that alone.

I'm 43 and I love this song due to it reminding me of someone very special I knew as a kid..

Lyrics:
Feels like I'm standing in a timeless dream
Of light mists with pale amber rose
Feels like I'm lost in a deep cloud of heavenly scent
Touching, discovering you
Those days of warm rains come rushing back to me
Miles of windless summer nights (Summer nights)
Secret moments shared within the heat of the afternoon
Out of the stillness, soft spoken words
Say it, say it again
I love you always forever
Near or far, closer together
Everywhere I will be with you
Everything I will do for you
Say it, say it again
I love you always forever
Near or far, closer together
Everywhere I will be with you
Everything I will do for you
You've got...
The most unbelievable blue eyes I've ever seen
You've got...
Me almost melting away
As we lay there
Under a blue sky with pure white stars
Exotic sweetness
A magical time
Say it, say it again
I love you always forever
Near or far, closer together
Everywhere I will be with you
Everything I will do for you (Say it, say it again)
I love you always forever
Near or far, closer together
Everywhere I will be with you
Everything I will do for you
Say you'll love and love me forever
Never stop, never whatever
Near and far and always everywhere and everything
Say you'll love and love me forever
Never stop, never whatever
Near and far and always everywhere and everything
Say you'll love and love me forever
Never stop, never whatever
Near and far and always everywhere and everything

totally agree, it was a 90s anthem but understated!
