I used to hear this song in the 90’s , loved it! Now I am 46, still play it and when is my turn to play music at work I look around and see a lot of youngsters dancing to it and amazingly some of them in their 20’s know the lyrics! This is an unforgettable song, many thanks to the producers, writer and of course the beautiful singer!❤❤❤
Born in '88, sister born in '82. Sister committed suicide last fall. 90s music has a special place in my heart because it takes me back to a time before any major troubles in either of our lives. And I love my sister always forever.
I used to listen to this song around midnight, in my room with the lights off, sitting on my window sill and looking out at the moonlight. This song always had a dreamy, magical quality to it that took me somewhere far far away.

My girlfriend at the time loved this song. I thought it was only okay, but I have so much more appreciation for it now.The two of us with blue eyes, we really liked the line "you've got, the most unbelievable blue eyes, I've ever seen", and we would sing that to each other. 27 years have passed, in that time she and I have gotten married, and now our two girls have left the house to start their own lives. I think I'll go and sing that line to my wife right now.

I heard this song for the first time a month ago while shopping at the mall. When I tell ypu it was stuck in my head for that full month, I mean every single day. It was driving me crazy not knowing the name of the song and only remembering the beautiful tune. I didn't know any of the lyrics so I couldn't type anything in Google. I was just humming it, and my dad says to me, "Will ya stop with the Donna Lewis?" I 'bout cried thanking him.
It is one of those songs that is so fantastically easy to get stuck in your head. I've even found myself rapping out the beat on the back of someone's seat while on the bus.

My mom passed away December 2023 and this was the first song that played on the radio when I went back to work that first day. This will always be special ❤️
This song makes you feel like anything is possible. Shoutout to all the millennials and 80s kids. We went through a time of hope and happiness we will NEVER get back again.
I'm a guy - and a blokey sort of guy, but i really like this song. Growing up in the 90s was awesome. Kids these days will never understand the music we grew up with.
The 90's were the best! The music, movies you name it. There were no cell phones, no computers, kids actually played outside and teenagers met up at their local mall to hang out. I graduated 1990 and that era by far was the greatest time in my life by far
Olders humans commenting the 90s where better yet look at these shit times we are living in due to the pass . But the future is bright if we change are horrific pass history along with current horrific history that the govermeants keep trying to delete the History on.
I agree with all these comments for sure I’m 30 and loved the 90s I agree kids used to talk to family members back then too instead of being obsessed with iPads and iPhones. Miss the 90s life was more fun and normal then and more bearable. Yeah we had more nicer people left then too !
This came out the same year I met my husband (22/7/96) & tomorrow is our 25th wedding anniversary(22/7/23). We have 3 amazing children too (23,21 & 19) So blessed.❤
This and The Cranberries’ Linger make me feel like I’m a child in the 90’s again going to school and the mall on weekends playing Gen 1 Pokemon games on Gameboy Color.
With you on everything but the Gen 1 Pokemon thing❤ Mine would have to conclude with listening to Tori Amos drinking coffee and Tate Street coffee. The difference is and still love Jesus Christ all the eternity and Tori was on some other stuff but her piano was beautiful :-) had to add that. 😊Anyway the 90s were something totally different - a whole different life and different world at least on the seeable surface ( darkness has always been there- just not so sick and painfully blatant as it is today).... Those days are gone.... but hey, let's be so glad we had it❤❤❤❤
A little about the story of how I came across this song: It was 1998 and I was a 7 year old falling asleep in the car on the drive back home through the hills of Uganda, this song plays in the background and it's the last thing I remember before I fall asleep. A few years later and obsession grows, I don't know the name of the song. I search all the CD's we had back then but to no avail. Years go by and at 2010 I make another attempt, I listen to the Chart toppers from the 80's onward, I scout forums and also try humming this song to my band mates, but nobody knows. I resort to the fact that I may I never find it. Today as I was searching for another classic, I saw this song. I just played it to check it out as I've never heard of this song. I forward it to the chorus and it hits me, this is that same exact song. Took me 21 years, but I've found it.
Same sort of thing happened to me with Eric Clapton's "My Father's Eyes" literally yesterday. I had just a vague memory stuck in my head for years of the guitar riff and how the chorus sounded like it was sung by a choir. I thought it was maybe an R&B song, I also thought the chorus was "look into another life", obviously I got nowhere with that. Then, last night I was out with a friend and the song comes on in the restaurant. I think I shazamed it like 3 times before I accepted that it was actually an Eric Clapton song I was looking for this whole time 😂
I'm 65 years old and this song transcends generations for me. And I'm a Classic Rock dude! I love the lyrics, the vocals, the piano, the video, and the beauty of the performer. She's gorgeous
I remember my mom playing this song all the times at the trips to my grandmother. The big electric generating windmills glowing red in the dark of the night. Me sitting next to my sleeping sister in the backseat of the old car my mom was driving on the autobahn. I always dreamed about going on an adventure through the night I could see through the windows. It is moments like these that I love the most about my childhood. Feeling as if everything is fine, nothing will change and seeing the dark trees on the side of the street come and go... Someday I will go on a journey through the night and do the things I always dreamed about as a child stuck in this car. When this happens I will listen to this song
I had lots of moments like this as a kid in the back seat of my parents car and just traveling and listening to old rock songs. some of my favorite times
I love how these songs provide so much nostalgia for all the people who were kids in the '90s. They were the soundtrack to our childhood! I am fortunate enough to only have good feelings when I think of that time.
First song I captured on tape while waiting for it to play during the radio's rotation. Absolutely timeless. Thank you, Donna - it capture a nostalgia I cannot put into words but can feel in my bones.
There was no better time to grow up than the 1990's. I know many people say that about their era but there was something truly special about the 1990's. The culture then was so relaxed and carefree. I often say I wish I could go back to those days. But what is the point? We lived it and what we have left are memories. We should be grateful for that alone.
sky62125 I was lucky enough to live through both decades and although the 80s were amazing for kids, it was a horrible place for adults with Thatcher at the helm........The 90s were different, you knew times were changing and things were happening........The 90s were special!!!! For everyone but especially the youth.
This is one of my favorite songs. My daughter grew up listening to classic rock and pop music and she fell in love with this song, too. She told me that she wanted to dance with me to this song on her wedding day. This spring, I danced with my beautiful daughter as she was a new bride on her happiest day. This song is so much my daughter! Every time I hear it, I see her, full of happiness, beauty and purity!
For those wondering why this classic hit has so few views, it's because it takes multiple years to get out of your head every time you hear it. Those free replays in your head don't make it into the view count.
This brings me back to being in the backseat of my mom and her best friends car on the way to the beach in L.A. Sun ☀️ on my face and my hand hanging out the window ❤️ RIP mom!!

You and I both. Except I actually sang this song, did a cover of it for this boy I like only to be ignored/ghosted. Also in my 30s. Stay safe everyone.
The song takes me back to the time when I did my military service. I've never been into this kind of music, but during that year I was introduced to it by other conscripts. I recall sitting in a tent in the mountains, guarding the fire while the others slept and the snow was falling down outside. Then suddenly this was played on the radio. Funny how music invokes vivid memories.
Sorry hailey. I love my mother can't imagine life without her. I would truly be lost. But hope your doing well and just know you'll see her once again some day.
That's actually why I'm here also.. My mom passed away last year and this was our song. She always sang this to me. Now I sing this to my daughter. And it fits because she does have the most unbelievable that I've ever seen!!!
My son was born Sept. 3, 1996. He was nearly 3 months early, weighing 3lbs 3.7 ounces and 15 inches long. I was released from the hospital after 4 days and had to leave my beautiful son behind, cried like a baby all the way home, kept thinking about the moment he opened his eyes, piercing blue eyes that never changed but did end up a denim blue shade, ice blonde hair with beautiful curls. This song came on the radio, on our way home and the part, You've got the most incredibly blue eyes, I'd ever seen, hit me hard and I cried myself to sleep that night, we lived over a half hour from the hospital/NICU he was at but made sure I was at the hospital with him, every single day, was only allowed to hold him for 15 minutes, wasn't able to breast feed because he wasn't able to suck and swallow being born so early, so didn't pump and brought it to the NICU, then they'd freeze the extra and would feed him, what I brought through his nose. He had to weight 4 pounds before being released, had to he able to handle drinking from a bottle, have no issues but Oct 2nd 1996, I received the call, as we were getting ready to visit him and they said I could bring my baby boy home and I was happier than anyone could ever possibly imagine, left and got my son and every since we've had an unbreakable bond and he's a healthy 6ft 2 inches, weight about 180, graduated law school and working in the practice he had always wanted and doing amazing. Sorry for the story but this song touches my heart, a few lyrics rather and always takes me back to the best day of my life.
This song used to drive me crazy when it came on the radio because it got way overplayed but now I really feel rly nostalgic about it. Early teenage years for the win.
Damn those were the days, 14 years old and watching this all the time on MTV. Boy have time's changed, there will never be great music like this again. Long live the 80s and 90s.
My son died in March 2024, he was 13 and he sent this song to me in my husband's dream of him along with the message that he loves me! I'm so lucky to have an amazing son like Trent Bubby Brown love you too 😘 sweetheart ❤️
He had real good taste to have sent this song to your husband's dream. As a father to no sons, I envy you, but I love my daughters all the same. Peace be to you.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I have a 25 year old son & I can not imagine the pain, the hurt, the feeling of loss that you're going thru. Life without my son would send me to a very dark place I think. I'm sure there's days you don't want to get out of bed. I'm sending you love, peace, strength, understanding, & acceptance hun. I know there's no words a stranger or even a loved one can say to you to make things any better...but, I do hope you have a good support system around you to help you get thru these beginning stages of grief. Again, I'm so sorry for the loss of your son & much love to you hun. ❤️ 💔❤️
I'm so sorry for your loss, losing a son must be unbearable. But the fact that he sent you this song in your husband's dream is magical and comforting, he just wanted to tell you that he is fine and loves you very much. 🥰
This song instantaneously takes me back to middle school , I remember the bus driver always having music playing and this song was always on. The power of music that it can take you back to a memory or time in your life.
This song came out around late 90's when my step mom has just passed. It was just me, my dad and my two little nephews in the house. I remember how different home was after that. I heard this song the first time on the way to work. I LOVE this song. The ending part feels like my step mom telling me " I love you always forever" R.i.p. Freida I love you always forever.
Call me when it's been a century or more, like the classical music that's stood the test of time. Then I'll buy that it will live on forever. 20-30 years is not enough.
I like the way you describe this song, "hauntingly nostalgic" excellent choice of words". Spot on friend. I just couldn't describe the feelings of blissful joy hearing this song again and again in stereo surround. just pure bliss.

Jade Elizabeth same happened to me.. Listened while shopping. Luckily able to search lyrics to find song 😊
I heard this song when I was having a bad day a work it just came on and I cryed and I had an easy time going to sleep when I got home

A little about the story of how I came across this song:
It was 1998 and I was a 7 year old falling asleep in the car on the drive back home through the hills of Uganda, this song plays in the background and it's the last thing I remember before I fall asleep.
Well , i wished to you good listing after a tired of 21 years
*SOMETHING LIKE THAT HAPPENED TO ME WITH*
*THE SONG: "SAD EYES" BY BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN.*
Wow 😮 This story is awesome
Same sort of thing happened to me with Eric Clapton's "My Father's Eyes" literally yesterday. I had just a vague memory stuck in my head for years of the guitar riff and how the chorus sounded like it was sung by a choir. I thought it was maybe an R&B song, I also thought the chorus was "look into another life", obviously I got nowhere with that. Then, last night I was out with a friend and the song comes on in the restaurant. I think I shazamed it like 3 times before I accepted that it was actually an Eric Clapton song I was looking for this whole time 😂
that's not a LITTLE story

This song is awesome..
