A moissanite has double refraction within.
That's why they say it has more fire.
That's the downfall with moissanite, you can tell the difference.
The Lab Grown Diamond is a real diamond. Just that the process is quicker to produce. Than waiting for a real diamond and mining.
I would suggest to people to buy a Lab grown diamond.
Even a real mined diamond at time of purchase loses 30% in value.
It's pointless to purchase a real diamond.
Take the less cost Lab grown and more perfected diamond and take that loss cause it will cheaper and it will look beautifull.
That's my opinion for people to consider.
It's pure fact a real mined diamond loses 30% at the time of purchase.

Lab diamonds don't have good resale value either, so I prefer to look at it from a purchase perspective only, especially since most buyers of earth formed diamonds, lab grown diamonds and moissanites aren't likely to sell anyway (sentimental value).
So if the goal is largest stone at lowest price, moissanite wins (unless the excess "fire" from moissanite bothers the buyer - then it would be lab diamond).
For those that prefer earth formed, no matter how closely it resembles or how much less expensive, lab made alternatives would never be a satisfactory option. Earth formed colored gemstones or clear ones like zircon, white topaz, white sapphire or herkimer quartz might be a better choice for them.
I love that they're so many options for every budget ❤

OK You have succeeded in confusing the heck out of me. They are BOTH made in the lab so why are you saying the "Lab Diamond" and the "MOISSANITE DIAMOND" ???? BOTH are created in the Lab which makes BOTH "LAB CREATED" diamonds.

Moissanite is a completely different gemstone.

Lab diamonds are carbon crystals; moissanite is silicon carbide crystal.

Agree! Both synthetically grown diamond alternatives (with different crystals, but both alternatives to earth formed)

Moissanite has the same chemical makeup that's in an earth mine diamond Henry moissian this back in the 1800s from a meteor he discovered in canyon deaiblo lab diamonds were created in 1954 by GE corning and Pyrex made with poor quality diamonds
