Eradicating Blue-Green Algae from a Livestock Dam

G'day. In this video I show the results of aeration and Biostim against blue-green algae in a dam at a livestock exchange in northern Victoria. NVLX (Northern Victoria Livestock Exchange) had a dam on-site which was having problems with blue-green algae and duckweed. The duckweed was clogging the pipes and the blue-green algae, being toxic, had poisoned the water. This was the dam water hundreds of animals at the facility would drink from during auctions so getting it clean was a high priority.
AERATION
We installed a Vertex sub-surface aeration system and an Air-O-Lator Professional surface aerator. We used Vertex as the workhorse, providing the most aeration, and the Air-O-Lator Professional was added on a timer to mix the water near the intake hose.

The clients also started applying a standard dose of Biostim to the dam monthly.

As you can see the dam is now completely free of both blue-green algae and duckweed.
